In de tijd dat we hier voor de derde keer in een hittegolf zaten, en dit keer een die 10 dagen duurde en waarbij we hier de 39 graden aantikten, kon ik niets maken in mijn hobbykamertje omdat het daar veel te wam was. Maar, in de keuken was het redelijk vol te houden. Ik had nog twee houten mandarijn kistjes staan die ik nog niet bewerkt had. En stencils en blendingtools en inkt gingen prima in die hitte. Dus heb ik ze met gesso bewerkt en daarna met stencils.
Een fijn poject in de hitte en een fijn project voor mijn inspiratie project als Gast Designer bij Creative Artists. Daar begint vandaag weer een nieuwe uitdaging en natuurlijk hopen we dat jij daar ook een kee mee gaat doen... Ik vind het in iedergeval heerlijk om daar weer Gast Designer te zijn!
During our third heatwave here - this one lasting ten days and seeing temperatures hit 39 degrees - I couldn't work in my little craftroom, because it was far too hot inthere. However, the kitchen was reasonable beareble. I had two wooden mandarin crates lying around and I hadn't yet decorated them. Stencils, blendingtools and ink worked perfectly fine in the heat, so I treated the crates with gesso with a bit refill DI and then applied stencil designs.
It was a great project for the heat and a wonderful inspiration piece for my role as Guest Designer at Creative Artists. A new challenge kicks off there today, and naturally we hope you will join in... I just love it to be Guest Designer there again!

Such a great upcycle, nice to know they will still be just as useful. I hope the heat has calmed at least a little know.. I often have to craft in my kitchen, like yourself it's the coolest place in the house.

Love your upcycled crate / containers, both this one and the one in your other post--beautiful colors! My sis and I used to upcycle packaging boxes all the time to store crafting supplies, but not much these days. Your project makes me feel like creating them again.
