De beste manier / The best way

Toen ik toch weer eens mijn achtergrondendoos op mijn tafel had staan vond ik dat ik er best wat meer gebruik van kon maken. Dus nog een keer daarin gezocht voor een achtergrond voor deze mooie ballerina's die ik met een stans van Josje uitstanste. En ik had voor deze vrijdag stempelmiddag een van mijn bakken met achtergrondstempels naar beneden gehaald om weer eens wat daarvan te gebruiken. Nou dat vond ik niet moeilijk op deze achtergrond met alleen een blauwe vlek... Nog wat lijnen getekend voor wat diepte en beweging en een tekst erbij gezocht. Voor mij is dat heerlijk spelen zo...

When I had my background box on the table again I thought I could use some more backgrounds. So I went through it again on the look for a fun background for these beautiful ballerina's that I made with a die I borrowed from Josje. And I had took down to us on this stamping Friday afternoon one of my boxes with background stamps so I could use them again. Well. that wasn't hard on this background with just a blue splatter... I draw some lines for depth and movement and found a text to go with it. For me this is ultimate playing...

En dan is het alweer September... zomervakanties voorbij, 's avonds niet meer zo lang warm, dus zitten we eerder binnen en we schuiven weer in een wat meer normale routine... Nu nog de gewone tijd zo snel mogelijk op de klok en het leven is weer om van te genieten! 

Jaja, ik weet wel dat er om wat voor rare reden ook nog steeds aan een zomertijd word vastgehouden en dan vooral een zomer tijd die op een veel te laat tijdstip voor het grootste deel van Europa weer weggedaan wordt; tegen die tijd hebben wij hier al zo lag 's ochtends een lichtje nodig voordat we op pad gaan, dat elke eventuele bezuiniging die we hadden in de tijd ervoor, met een noodgang compleet teniet gedaan word...

And then it's September again... summer holidays are over, the evenings aren't as warm anymore, so we're indoors earlier and we're quickly slipping back into a more normal routine... Now just get back to normal time as soon as possible, and life will be enjoyable again!

Yeah, yeah, I know that for some strange reason, they're still sticking with Daylight Savings Time, and especially a time that's being discontinued far too late for most of Europe; by then, we'll have a need for a light early in the morning for such a long time before we head out the door, that any potential savings we might have made in the preceding period will be completely undone...

Nog een van de projecten die ik op de stempelmiddag 2 vrijdagen terug maakte. (Het was een hele productieve middag!) De achtergrond komt zo uit mijn achtergrondendoos en naast het sponzen met verschillende kleuren over elkaar om een andere rode kleur te krijgen als die er in het assortiment van Distress inkt zitten, heb ik alleen een tekst toegevoegd.

Ik moet nog even kijken in welk Art Journal deze terecht komt; heel misschien moet er dan nog een achtergrond  achter gemaakt worden en moet het misschien iets kleiner worden, maar dat zie ik een volgende keer wel weer.

Another of the projects I made at the stamping afternoon two Fridays ago. (It was a very productive afternoon!) The background is straight out of my background box and besides sponging with different colors on top of each other to get a different red as there are in the Distress Ink assortiment, I only added some text. I still need to see in wich Art Journal this will end up; I might need to add a background and make it a bit smaller, but I 'll see about that another time...

Soms is er geen kleur nodig...

Na het sponzen van de jonge man en het stempelen van de stenen waar hij opstaat en het tekenen van de rand van iets waar hij tegenaan leunt, had ik geen behoefte meer om er ook maar een kleur aan toe te voegen... Dus heb ik een tekst van wit op zwart gezocht en die er nog bij geplakt en dat was het...

Sometimes you don't need color...

After sponging the young man and stamping the stones he is standing on and drawing am edge to wich he leans to,I didn't feel the need to add any color... So I looked for a text in white on black and glued it on and that was all...

Allemaal restjes / All snippets

Ik ben even niet in blogland geweest, maar was ziek en heb mijn tijd voornamelijk doorgebracht met slapen... Vandaag voel ik me voor het eerst sinds 5 dagen weer een beetje normaal en dus ben ik weer terug en kom ik ook bij jullie weer kijken.

Oké vandaag het 2e project dat ik maakte vorige week tijdens de stempelmiddag; een soort junk-page voor in het kleine boekje/Art journal gemaakt met allemaal restjes uit mijn achtergrondendoos en een meisjes sticker.

I haven't been in blogland for a while,but was ill and spent most of my time sleeping... Today I finally feel a little bit normal for the first time in 5 days and so I'am back again and will look at your posts again.

Oké today the second project I made last week during the stamping afternoon; a kind of junk-page for in the little notebook/Art Journal made with all kind of 'left-over' pieces from my background box and a girl sticker.

Om de (deze keer vrijdag) stempelmiddag te beginnen heb ik een klein boekje/Art Journal genomen en ben daar op een van de bladzijden begonnen met restjes en een stencil van Josje dat ze meegebracht had en dat ik heel leuk vond. Een 'rustig' begin van de stempelmiddag:

CaS in het weekend 484 / CAS in the weekend 484

Door het warme weer en daaruit volgende ziekte hebben we een aantal stempel donderdagmiddagen overgeslagen. Gelukkig post ik iets minder in de zomer en had ik aardig vooruit gewerkt dus heb jij er niets van gemerkt... Maar het houd natuurlijk een keer op... Dus was ik blij dat we een keer op de vrijdag konden afspreken en ik weer iets nieuws kon maken. En ik ben maar wat blij dat het vanaf donderdag wat koeler is geworden...

Overal zie je nu al het fruit rijpen aan de bomen, dus leek het me een goed plan om mijn nieuwe fruitstempel te gebruiken...

Due to the warm weather and the resulting illness we skipped a few  StampThursday afternoons. Luckely I post less in the Summer and I had worked quite a bit ahead of time, so you didn't notice... But of course, things have to come to a stop at some point... So I was glad that we could meet up on Friday afternoon and could make some new projects again . And I was so happy that it cooled down a bit starting Thursday... 

Everywhere you can see the fruit ripening on the trees, so I thought it would be a good idea to use my new fruit stamp...

Soms maak je een stencil schoon op een stuk aquarelpapier en verwacht je er niet veel van... en dan word je verrast door de sterke afdruk. Dat gebeurde toen ik het stencil dat ik gebruikte op dit project zo schoon maakte. En ik kon er 3x een goede print vanaf halen! Vandaag de derde en laatste. (Je kan de eerste hier en de tweede print hier vinden) 

Sometimes you clean a stencil on a piece of aquarelpaper and you aren't expecting much of it... and than the strong print surprises you. That happened when I cleaned the stencil that I used on this project. And I could get 3 good prints of it! Today the third and last one. (You can find the first one here and the second one here)
