Nadat ik uitgezocht had wat het thema was voor de uitdaging van deze maand bij Lavinia, maakte ik tijdens een stempel donderdagmiddag op mijn gemak deze tweede wereld waarin ik de elfjes wel zou willen laten wonen. Deze keer meer in een herfstsfeer,

After I surched what the theme was for the challenge this month at Lavinia, I made on one of the stamping Thursday afternoons at a slow pace this second world in wich I would let the fairieslife. This time more in an autumn mood.

Feeëndal 1 / Fearie glen 1

Soms moet je echt even zoeken in je geheugen en op internet om duidelijk te krijgen wat een uitdaging vraagt... Dat was ook zo bij de uitdaging van deze maand voor Lavinia; Die was 'Fearie Glen'. Het is iets als een elfen vallei of feeëndal / sprookjesachtige, vaak verborgen valleien met kegelvormige heuvels en groene weiden.

En dat is een beschrijving waar ik toch wel iets mee moest kunnen verzinnen... 

Ik ben begonnen met de 2 boomhuisjes en de bomen en brug en vandaaruit ben ik de heuvels met bloemen en takjes gaan maken. Natuurlijk eerst alles gestempeld, daarna met een kwast en water uitgewerkt, en als laatste nog met een zwarte fijnschrijver en rode DI brush wat accenten en de bloemen getekend:

Sometimes you have to surch in your memory and on the internet to get clear what they ask at a  challenge... That was the case with the new challenge at Lavinia for this month; They ask 'Fearie Glen'. That is something like an elf or fairy valley / fairytalelike, often hidden valleys whit cone-shaped hills and graan meadows. And that is a description I surely should be able to come up with something

I started with the 2 treehouses and from there I started making the hills with flowers and twigs. Of course I stamped everything first, then worked it out with a brush and water, and finally added some accents and drew the flowers with a black fine-tip pen and a red DI brush:

In de zee... / In the sea...

Na het maken van de Paaskaarten was er die stempel donderdagmiddag nog wat tijd over en ben ik verder gegaan met de stukken papier waar ik de stencils op schoongemaakt heb die ik voor die kaarten had gebruikt. Deze waren best snel gemaakt... Hier de tweede met een al uitgestanste zeemeermin. Het stencil dat ik hierop schoonmaakte gebruikte ik hier.

After making the Easter cards there was a lot of time left that stamping Thursday afternoon and I went on using the pieces of paper where I cleaned the stencils on that I used for those Easter cards. They were made pretty quick... Here the second one with an already cut-out mermead. The stencil that I cleaned on this I used here.

In het groen / In the green

Na het maken van de Paaskaarten was er die stempel donderdagmiddag nog wat tijd over en ben ik verder gegaan met de stukken papier waar ik de stencils op schoongemaakt heb die ik voor die paaskaarten had gebruikt. Die waren best snel gemaakt... Hier de eerste met wat al uitgestanste bladeren en een afbeelding van een gitaar spelend meisje. (De foto is wat donker doordat ik wat aan het spelen was met de 'settings' van mijn fototoestel en vergat wat dingen terug te zetten in de instellingen) Het stencil dat ik op deze achtergrond schoonmaakte gebruikte ik hier.

Mottig / Moths

Ik maak nog steeds de gebruikte stencils schoon op aquarelpapier. Heel vaak krijg je zo een mooie nieuwe achtergrond waar je weer mee kan gaan 'spelen'. Dat gebeurde ook met deze achtergrond die ik maakte door de stencils die ik bij dit project gebruikte op het papier schoon te maken. Ik gebruikte nog een ander stencil met de schaakstukken en een stempelset met motten die ik al heel wat jaren had liggen en steeds maar niet heb gebruikt. Ik heb ze wat meer in de richting van vlinders gebracht door ze kleur te geven. Na het maken van de foto zag ik dat de stickertekst losliet, dus heb ik 'm nog even vastgelijmd.

I still clean the used stencils on aquarel paper. So many times you get a beautiul new background that way and you can 'play' further. That was what happened also with this background, wich I made by cleaning the stencils I used or this project on the paper. I used another stencil with the check pieces and a stampset with moths that I have had for years and still hadn't ised. I made them look more like butterflies by giving them more color. Ater making th photo I saw that the stockertext was a bit loose, so I glued it back.

In bloemen / In flowers

Als je dan toch een nieuwe stempelset hebt, wil je de andere stempel(s) natuurlijk ook meteen gebruiken... Dus heb ik een achtergrond gemaakt op een mislukte Gelliplate-techniek achtergrond met veel wit door te sponzen met verschillende stencils en dezelfde kleur inkt. De eerste stempel van deze set gebruikte ik hier.

If you have a new stampset, you of course want to use the other stamps too innediately... So I made a background on a piece of paper with on it a Gelliplate-technique that went wrong and has a lot of white, by sponging through different stencils and just one color ink.The first stamp from the set I used here.

Paaskaart 3+4 / /Eastern card 3+4

Als eerste wens ik je Fijne paasdagen!

Natuurlijk kwam de zin om Paaskaarten te maken ook dit jaar weer bovendrijven.

Gelukkig op de stempel donderdagmiddag voor we weer de nutteloze zomertijd ingingen en ik telkens mijn hele tijdsbegrip/gevoel zonder klok, maar door naar buiten te kijken en naar mijn lichaam te luisteren, weer elke keer net een uur moet bijstellen... Dat doet mijn lijf, en de eerste paar weken mijn afspraken, geen goed...

Ik wilde het stencil van dit grappig paashaasje gebruiken en lekker vrolijke kleuren. Uiteindelijk heb ik er meestal nog een stencil bijgebruikt (gewoon ze op elkaar gelegd en dan gesponsd) en kwam het paaslintje weer goed van pas!

First:Happy easter!

Of course the mood to make Eastern cards came up again this year. Luckely on the stamping Thursday afternoon before we went into the useless summertime and I each time have to adjust my feel for time without a clock, but by looking outside or listening to my body, with an hour each time...That is not good for my body and my appointments the first weeks...

I wanted to use this stencil of the fun hare and some joyfull colors. At the end I used most of the time a second stencil (just layered them on top of eachother) and the Easterribbon came handy again aswel!

Samengevoegd / Merged

Wat als je een (voor mij) nieuwe stempel combineren wil met stukken restpapier met een techniek erop? Soms is het even zoeken hoe je ze kunt combineren en hier ging dat alleen maar door vellum en embossing poeder te gebtuiken en de afbeelding uit te knippen. Dit is echt zo'n stempel waarbij je meteen ziet wat het is, of je blijft het maar moeilijk vinden om er iets 'van te brouwen'...

What if you want to combine left over pieces with a technique on them and a (for me) new stamp? Sometimes it takes a bit of figuring out how to combine them, but here it was only possible by using vellum and embossingpowder and cutting out the imake. This really is one of those stamps where you immediatly see what it is, or you keep finding it hard to 'see what it is'...

Ik piep overal tussendoor / I squeeze in between everything

Mijn man was al in Januari jarig, maar, na alle feestdagen en het weer in een normaal ritme glijden na die feestdagen, had ik een enorme dip in mijn 'mojo' wat betreft het maken van kaarten, en een iets kleinere dip wat brtreft andere projecten, en wist ik steeds maar niks te verzinnen om te gebruiken voor een verjaardagskaart voor hem. Ik had hem beloofd dat ik zijn verjaardagsdatum gewoon met 3 zou vermenigvuldigen en hij dan alsnog een kaart van mij zou krijgen.

Tja, en dan komt die datum steeds dichterbij en ga je vaker door je hobbyspulletjes om te kijken of er een idee naar boven komt dat je voor zo'n kaart kunt gebruiken... Al met al duurde het echt lang voor het uiteindelijke idee ontstond, maar hier is 'ie' dan:

My husband had his Birthday in January, but, after all the festive days and getting back into a normal rithme after those holidats, I suffert of a massieve dip in my 'mojo' for cards and a little bit less for other projects, and couldn't get an idea to use on a Birthday card or him. I promised him to multiply his Birghday date with 3 and he then would recieve his Birthday card.

Tja, and then that date comes closer and you go often through your crat supplies to see i there would come some idea in your mind that you can use for a card like that...

Lekker van alles / Lovely all kind of things

En een nog lichtere achtergrond gemaakt met de ronde Gelliplate. Dit was duidelijk de laatste afdruk die ik ervan 'trok'; dan zie je alleen de donkere kleuren nog maar...

Dus een lekker drukke stempel ingekleurd met vrolijke kleuren erop gezet...

En nog een keer heb ik hier een van de ronde Gelliplate afdrukken gebruikt. Deze is wel bont van kleur, maar door het vele wit ertussen wat rustiger. (Zie hier en hier en hier voor meer achtergronden gemaakt met de ronde Gelliplate)

Een beetje vriendelijkheid elke dag / A little kindness every day

En weer heb ik hier een van de ronde Gelliplate afdrukken gebruikt. Deze is lekker bont van kleur, dus wilde ik er niet veel kleur aan toe voegen om niet te veel van dat mooie patroon a te leiden. Dus ben ik tussen mijn al uitgestanstte figuren gaan zoeken en kwam deze katjes tegen. Ik heb er 2 op elkaar geplakt om een schaduw te creëren en het wat meer te laten afsteken. (Hier zie je de eerste achtergrond gemaakt met de ronde Gelliplate en hier de tweede)

And again I've used one of the round Gelliplate backgrounds. This one is quite vibrant, so I didn't want to add too much color to avoid distracting from that beautiul pattern. So I went through my pre-cut figures again and found these kittens. I glued two of them together a bit of-set to create a shadow and make them stand out a bit more. (Here you can find the first background made with the round Gelliplate and here the second)

Verjaardagskaart voor de 90ste verjaardag van mijn vader / Birthday card for my father's 90th Birthday

Ik heb al heel wat verjaardagskaarten voor mijn vader gemaakt. Maar dat is logisc; hij is agelopen zondag 90 geworden! Wat een leetijd! En gelukkig heeft hij nog steeds de mogelijkheid er zelf op uit te gaan met de auto om wat boodschappen te doen (geen zware!) en naar het bridgen of de verschillende vergaderingen van inspraakgroepen te gaan, maar hij draait er ook zijn hand niet voor om om een zoom-vergadering te hebben met het bestuur van Rover (= reizigers openbaar vervoer) in deze regio... Nog steeds een man van deze tijd dus, al gaat bewegen wat langzamer en lang lopen is helaas verleden tijd.

Met al die kaarten die ik voor hem maakte is het best even nadenken wat ik nu weer voor hem zou maken, maar toen ik deze stempel zag, wist ik het meteen; deze stempel op een stuk aquarelpapier waarop ik dit stencil (dat ik hier gebruikte)had schoongemaakt... Zo dus ook gemaakt en deze kwam er precies uit te zien als ik 'm in mijn hoofd had:

I have made a lot of Birtday cards or my father. But that is only logic; he has turned 90 last Sunday! What an age! And luckely he still has the option to go out on his own with the car to do some shopping (no heavy ones) and go to the bridge or the several meetings of the consultation groups, but he also doesn't shy away from having a zoom meeting with the board of Rover (= public transportation travelers) in this region... So still a man o this time, although moving around is a bit slower and long walks are ubortunaly a thing of the past.

With all the cards I made for him, I had to think hard what I should make for him, but as soon as I saw this stamp, I knew it; this stamp on a piece o aquarel paper on wich I had cleaned this stencil (that I used here)... So I made it that way actly as I had envisioned it:

Ook deze achtergrond is gemaakt met de Gelliplate. En ook deze lag al heel lang in mijn achtergrondendoos, want deze is nog uit de periode dat we elke keer weer nieuwe technieken probeerden. Dat hebben we een hele tijd gedaan (waarbij niet alle technieken lukten en zeker niet alle technieken favorieten zijn geworden...), maar, toen we steeds alleen nog maar vreemdere technieken konden vinden die we nog niet geprobeerd hadden en ze steeds minder bevielen, zijn we daarmee gestopt. Nu maken we gewoon van alles met de technieken waar we zin in hebben en wat past bij het idee dat we in ons hoofd hebben. En stiekem gebruiken we best veel van de technieken die we toen geprobeerd hebben. De ene techniek alleen wat vaker dan de andere...

Maar goed, terug naar deze Gelliplate achtergrond; we waren niet kapot van het resultaat van deze Gelliplate techniek, maar ik vond 'm ook te leuk om in de oud papierbak te gooien... En net als bij dit project, waarbij ik een kat gestencild heb over een monochroom grijze Gelliplate afdruk, heb ik dat hier ook gedaan, natuurlijk wel met een andere kleur en weer anders verder afgewerkt; het is nou eenmaal niet zo leuk 2x hetzelde te doen...

This background was also made with the Gelliplate. And this one too, had been in my background box for ages, because it dates back to the time that we were constantly trying new techniques. We did that for a long time (not all techniques worked , and certainly not all of them became favorites...), but when we kept finding stranger and stranger techniques that we hadn't tried yet, and we liked them less and ;ess, we stopped. Now we just make all sorts of things with the techniques we feel like using and that fit the idea we have in mind. And srill we use quite a few o the techniques we troid back then.Just some techniques more oten than others...

Anyway, back to this Gelliplatebackground; we weren;t thrilled with the result of this Gelliplate technique, but I thought it was too nice to throw it in the recycling bin... And just like with this project where I stencilled a cat over a monochrome gray Gelliplate print, I did the same here, o course with a different color and different finish. It's just no un to do the same twice.

Besprenkeld met zonneschijn / Sprinkled with sunshine

Zodra het warmer en zonnig weer is, moet ik denken aan schommelen... Klinkt misschien raar, maar als kind was in al veel en vaak op de schommel te vinden. Lekker een windje om je heen terwijl je door de lucht zoeft...

Dus leek het me leuk een elfje te laten schommelen...

As soon ot is warmer and more sunshine, I think about swinging.... Sounds strange maybe, but when I was a kid you could find me a lot and long times in the swing. So nice to feel the breese around you while loating through the air...

So I thought it would be fun to let a fairy swing...
