Rozen / Roses

Al even geleden kocht ik een serie gelaagde/'layering' stencils. Ik had geen zin om ze allemaal achter elkaar te gebruiken, dus bleven er een aantal liggen. Toen ik ze op een donderdag zag toen ik wat spullen bij elkaar aan het zoeken was om mee te nemen naar de stempel donderdagmiddag heb ik deze eruit gevist om een achtergrond mee te maken.

Ik starte met het stempelen van de vrouw en maskerde haar. Daarna heb ik de gelaagde/'layered' rozen in drie tinten roze door de stencils gesponst. Toen met 2 kleuren groen de achtergrond gesponst en haar ingekleurd. Nog even de randen gesponsd en dat was het voorlopig. Weer thuis heb ik er een tekst bij gezocht en vond ik 'm wel af...

A while ago I bought a serie layered stencils. I didn't felt like using them all in one go, so a few were left sitting there. On a Thursday, while gathering supplies to take to my stamping Thursday afternoon, I picked them out to create a background. 

I started by stamping the woman and masking her off. Then I sponged tree shades of pink through the stencils to create the layered roses.  Next I sponged the background using two shades of green and colored the woman. I finished by sponging the edges and that was that for the moment. Back home I found a sentiment to go with it and it felt like the project was complete...

Nog een boswandeling / Another walk through the wood

Nog een achtergrond die al heel lang in mijn doos lag. Ik vond gewoonweg geen stempel van mensen die ik erbij wilde zetten die qua afmeting 'klopten'. Maar een tijdje terug bestelde ik deze en waarempel; het pastte! Nog alles wat meeer kleur gegeven en dat was het... Ik ben er niet helemaal blij mee hoe het geheel geworden is, maar dat komt omdat ik alles op een stuk papier met opgedepte inkt ben begonnen jaren terug...

Another background wich was in my background box for a long time. I just didn't find a stamp from people that I wanted to put onit from wich the sizes matched. But, a while back I ordered these and they fitted! I put some more color on the paper and that was it... I'm not entirely happy with how this one turned out, but that is becouse I started on a piece of paper with some blotted ink years ago...

Ik maak steeds best veel op de stempeldonderdagmiddagen, dus ga ik wat vaker posten; i.p.v. om de dag, kun je hier vaker elke dag iets nieuws ntfekken de komende tijd...

Natuurlijk hield ik na het maken van dit project ook weer een getrokken print /achtergrond over... Die was weer wat minder duidelijk, dus heb ik het stencil erop gelegd en met rood erdoor gesponst. Daarna heb ik verschillende kleine stempels in zwart en rood gestempeld en er een tekst bij gezocht. Dezelfe techniek gebruikte ik hier en hier ook al eens

Of course I was left with another pulled print/background after finishing this project... That one was not quite clear, I placed a stencil over it and sponged red ink through ot. Then I stamped various small images in black and red ink and selecred a tekst ro go with it. I used the same technique here and here earlier.

Kussend / Kissing

Als een achtergrond al heel wat jaren in de doos zit en je blijft 'm vaak te mooi vinden om er iets op te zetten, moet je gewoonweg op zoek gaan naar iets dat niet te veel 'impact' heeft en waarbij je alleen maar met zwart erop hoeft te werken.

Ik geloof dat dat op deze achtergrond wel gelukt is...

When a background sits in the backgroundbox for many years and you kep om finding it too beautiul to put something over it, you just have to look for something that hasn't too much 'impact' and with wich toy only need to work with black. I think it worked on this background

Ik zie haar vliegen / I see her flying

Zoals ik in de vorige post al schreef heb ik twee nazomer scenes gemaakt. Hier vind je de eerste en vandaag dus de tweede...

Ik had de leuke zonnebloemen van Lavinia dit jaar nog niet gebruikt, dus dat werd hoog tijd! En die vind ik perfect passen bij nazomerse dagen, al zijn ze dit jaar net als alle bloemen veel sneller weer uitgebloeit in het 'eggie'; het is gewoon te vroeg te warm geweest...

Maar dus wel op mijn kaart en gecombineerd met de nieuwste heksenstempel van Lavinia...

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve created two late-summer scenes. You saw the first one here, and today here is the second...

I hadn't yet used Lavinia’s lovely sunflower stamps this year, so it was time I did! I think they are perfect for late-summer days, even though, in real life, they (like all flowers this year) finished blooming much sooner than usual; it simply got too hot too early...

But here they are on my card, combined with Lavinia’s newest witch stamp...

Oogst maan / Harvast moon

En dan komen er nieuwe stempels van Lavinia uit en wil je die gelijk bestellen, omdat het heel langzaam weer tijd word om oogst-, herfst- en halloween- scenes te maken. Gelukkig had ik ze heel snel binnen en kon ik er de stempeldonderdagmiddag erna meteen mee aan de slag...

Zoals elke maand is er weer een nieuwe challenge bij Lavinia, dit keer met als thema; "Harvast moon".

Ik ben er nog niet helemaal klaar voor om in de herfst te duiken; ik hou van nazomeren... Dus heb ik eindelijk twee keer een na-zomer tafereel gemaakt. Dit is de eerste:

And then Lavinia releases new stamps, and you want to order them right away because it’s slowly getting the time to create harvest-, autumn-, and Halloween- scenes. Fortunately, they arrived very quickly, so I was able to start working with them that very next "Stamp Thursday" afternoon...

As always, there’s a new challenge from Lavinia this month—this time with the theme "Harvest Moon."

I’m not quite ready to dive into autumn yet; I love the lingering warmth of late summer... So, I ended up creating two late-summer scenes. This is the first one:
