Danseressen / Ballerina's

Al in januari voor mijn verjaardag had ik dit grote stencil van de balletdanseres uitgezocht. Het deed me heel erg denken aan een stempel die ik al jaren heb, dus heb ik die erbij gepakt toen ik eindelijk weer eens op een A4-formaat wilde werken. Ze hebben dezelfde sierlijke lijnen vind ik, dus die kon ik hier mooi samen gebruiken. Het maken van de achtergrond was gaaf om te doen! (weer een andere manier om met een stencil te werken...) De balerina gesponst door het stencil viel alleen niet zo heel erg op als ik verwacht had, dus ben ik er later met een lichtere paarse kleur overheen gegaan. Ik ben helemaal niet tevreden dat mijn 1e idee niet helemaal naar wens uitpakte... maar laat het hier toch zien, omdat ik alles wat ik maak laat zien en niet alleen degene waar ik heel tevreden over ben. Het is tenslotte een steeds veranderende hobby, waarbij een idee soms ook een keer minder goed uitpakt...

Back in January I choose this big stencil from the balletdanser as a gift for my Birthday. It reminded me of a stamp I have had for years, so I took that out when I finally wanted to work on an A4-seize. They have the same graceful lines I think, so I could ise them easealy together. The making of the background was so much fun to do! (and again a different way to use a stencil...) I sponged the ballerina through the stencil, but she didn't stood out as much as I thought she would, so at the end I went over here with a lighter purple color.

I'm not totally satisfied that my first idea didn't go as planned... but I still show it here, because I show everything I make here and not just the ones I am totally satisfied with. After all it is an everchanging hobby, where an idea sometimes turns out less well...

Mannen verjaardagkaart / Male birthday card

Natuurlijk maakte ik ook dit jaar een verjaardagskaart voor de verjaardag van de vriend van onze dochter. En, omdat we niet op de dag zelf een bloemetje gingen afgeven, wilde ik bloemen op de kaart, maar dan niet de afbeelding van een bloem of een boeket. Wat dan wel? Ik wilde hetzelde stencil gebruiken als dat ik eerder al op de moederdagkaart gebruikte (hier), maar dan weer anders natuurlijk. Als eerste stempelde ik de mannenfiguur op aquarelpapier, maskerde het en gebruikte het stencil eroverheen door er met felle kleuren door te sponzen. Toen nam ik wat stempelpapier en sponsde door het stencil met zwart. Daarna trok ik bij het schoonmaken van het stencil twee prints, waarvan een op een kleiner stuk aquarelpapier. Dat kleinere stuk was de 2e print en gebruikte ik achter het aquarelpapier met de fellere kleuren en de man erop. Het geheel plakte ik op het stuk stempelpapier waarop ik met zwart gesponst had, ik plakte een verjaardags lint eroverheen en dat geheel ging weer op een kaartbasis van wit cardstock.

Uiteindelijk kostte het wat meer om deze kaart te versturen, maar daar had ik even niet bij stil gestaan...

Of course I made a birthday card for our daughter's boyfriend again this year. And, because we we weren't going to drop off flowers on the day itself, I wanted flowers on the card, but not an image of a flower or a bouquet. So what then? I wanted to use the same stencil I had used earlier on the mother's day card (here), but in a different way of course. First I stamped the male figure onto watercolor paper, masked it and applied the bright colours by sponging through the stencil. Then I took some stamping paper and sponge through the stencil with black. After that, while cleaning the stencil, I pulled two prints, one of them was on a smaller piece of watercolar paper. That smaller piece was the second print and I used it behind the paper with the man and brighter colors on it. I glued that onto the piece of stampingpaper wich I sponged the black flowers on, glued a birthday ribbon over it and placed the whole thing onto a white cardstock card base. 

In the end, it cost a bit more to send this card, but I hadn't thought about that at that moment...

Moederdagkaart / Mother's day card

Helemaal vergeten om mijn moederdagkaart van dit jaar hier te laten zien...

Elk jaar weer iets anders verzinnen is best lastig, maar gelukkig houd mijn moeder van heel veel verschillende dingen. Voor haar kaart wou ik een stempel van een moeder en dochter gebruiken die ik voor mijn verjaardag heb gekregen gebruiken. En ook nog een bloemenstencil. Het werd een lekker fleurige kaart.

To come up with something new each year is a bit tricky, but my mother loves many different things. for her card I wanted to use a stamp from a mother and daughter that I got for my Birthday. And a flowerstencil too. It turned out to be a colorful card.

Vazen 2 / Vases 2

Nog net voordat ik m'n spulletjes weer moest inpakken heb ik op een reststuk aquarelpapier deze vazen gestempeld en ingekleurd. Toen was een heel produktieve stempeldinderdagmiddag weer ten einde en kon ik later thuis op m'n gemak (en overal tussendoor) wat teksten zoeken en wat DP om alle 11 projecten af te maken.

Natuurlijk zijn niet alle projecten zo uitgevallen als dat ik dat bedacht had, maar tjee, wat heb ik een hoop plezier gehad bij het maken en bij het zoveel achtergronden uit mijn achtergrondendoos op gebruiken!

Just before I had to put all my things back in my basket, I stamped these vases and colored them. That was the end of a super productive stamping Thursday aternoon and all what was left to do at home,was to look for some texts and DP to complete all 11 prpjects (in between all the other thngs I had to do at home).

Of course not all of the projects look like I had thought when I started them, but I had so much fun making them and using so many backgrounds from my backgrounds box!

Verhaal / Story

In maart werd dit project van mij gekozen als een van de Top Picks bij Ellibelle's "I spy with my little eye" challenge. En werd ik gevraagd om Gast Designer te zijn bij de nieuwe challenge van Mei. Tuurlijk! Die uitdagingen vind ik altijd leuk, dus graag! En dus vind je hier mijn inspiratie project voor die uitdaging. Deze keer  heeft deze als uitdaging: Monochroom. Altijd een leuke om mee aan de slag te gaan, vind ik... 

Bij het verder wat opruimen / beter indelen van mijn hobby kamer kwam ik ook de stempelset tegen die ik voor dit project voor het eerst inkt wou laten zien. Nog een kleinere set ovale stempels gebruikt om alles met elkaar te verbinden:

In March this project got chosen as one of the Top Picks at Ellibelle's "I spy with my little eye" challenge. And I was asked to be a Guest Designer at the new challenge in May. Sure! I always enjoy those challenges, so yes please! And that's why you find my inspiration project for that challenge in this post. This time the challenge is: Monochtome. Always a fun one to work with, I think...

While tidying up / organizing my cratroom a bit better, I came across the stampset that I wanted to show ink for the first time for this project. I also used a smaller set of oval stamps to connect everything:

Verjaardagskaart voor mijn moeder / Birthday card for my mother

Toen ik ging nadenken over een verjaardagskaart voor mijn moeder wist ik een ding zeker: er moesten bloemen op! En, omdat ik bezig was met mijn nieuwe stempels heb ik er daar een van gebruikt. Nu maar hopen dat ze 'm leuk vind...

Ik was wel toe aan wat vrolijke kleuren en wilde weer eens een krans maken. Dit is het geworden:

When I was thinking over what Birthday card for my mother to make I new one thing for sure: there had to go flowers on! And becaise I was working with my new stamps, I used one of them. Now all to do is hope she likes it... I was so ready for some bright colors and wanted to make a wreath again. This is what it turned out like:

Natuurlijk moest ik, toen ik er eenmaal 1 gemaakt had, er nog een maken met mijn nieuwe stempels. Ik vind het heerlijk om in de wondere wereld te duiken waar deze stempels zo goed in passen en te proberen iets anders als een ander ermee te maken... En soms moet het gewoon in CaS-stijl...

Of course I had to, when I made the first one, make another one with my new stamps. I just like it so much to dive in to the wunderful world where these stamps fit in so perfect and try to make something else as others has made with them... And sometimes it just has to be in CAS-style...
