Sneeuwpop maken / Making a snow man

Afgelopen week hadden we weer een normale stempel donderdagmiddag. Niet helemaal normaal qua weer, want op het moment dat ik aan kwam rijden begon het te sneeuwen. Er lag van 's nachts al wat sneeuw overal op het gras, de daken en takken en op meer plaatsen, maar de wegen waren alleen maar nat, dus het rijden was geen probleem. 

Dat weer inspireerde me om een nieuwe set stempels te gebruiken met kinderen die sneeuwpoppen maken en wat winterse taferelen te maken. Bij deze  gebruikte ik voor de bomen een wat oudere rubber bomenlaan stempel die ik op het laatste moment nog in mijn mandje gestopt had om mee te nemen.

De stempels zijn heel verschillend, maar met het aanbrengen van de kleuren werd het gelukkig steeds meer een geheel.

Last week we had a normal stamping Thursday afternoon. The weather wasn't quite normal though, as it started snowing the moment I arrived. There had already been some snowe overnight all over the grass, roofs, branches, snd other places, but the roads were only wet, so driving wasn't a problem.

That weather inspired me to use a new set of stamps, feathering children making snowmen and create some winter scenes. For the trees I use a slightly older rubber tree-line stamp that I'd take and put in my basketto take with me.

The stamps are very different, but thankfully, as I added the colors, they gradually came together.

Schaatsen 2 / Ice skating 2

Omdat de winter echt nog niet voorbij is, heb ik deze schaatsende kinderen te voorschijn gehaald. Samen met een van de eerste bomen stempels die ik ooit kocht (en die nog steeds een van mijn favorieten is) vond ik het wel een winters sfeertje geven....

Because the winter isn't over jet, I pulled out these scating kids. Together with one of the first tree stamps that I bought (and wich is still one of my favorite tree stamps) It became a winterly scene...

Bevroren en tropische wereld / Frozen and tropical world

Ondanks het feit dat ik 2 projecten alleen nog maar een stukje hoefde af te werken, bleven deze liggen tot vanmorgen. Onze dochter is afgelopen maandag voor haar studie voor een half jaar naar Wales vertrokken, dus er was van alles te doen voor die tijd en natuurlijk het heel vroege opstaan om haar naar Schiphol te brengen; we waren terug voor de buurtkinderen naar school moesten... Het kostte me een dag om weer in een 'normaal' ritme te komen. En nu nog het eraan wennen dat we haar een tijd niet zoveel zullen zien...

En daarna kwamen de dingen die we normaal doen nog en zo vloog de tijd en heb ik hier onbedoeld een korte 'break' genomen.

Het 2e project dat ik afgelopen vrijdag maakte was nog een keer een bevroren wereld, maar dan eentje met daarin een tropische wereld... Ik vind het contrast zo mooi en die stolpstencil is zo leuk om te gebruiken...

I already made 2 projects that I just had to finish off a little bit, but these stayed on my table untill this morning. Our daughter went to Wales last Monday for a half year for her study so there was so much to do before that day and of course get up real early to bring her to Schiphol; we were back before the kids in the neightbourhood went to school... It took me a day to get back into a 'normal' rythme. And now I have to get used to see her a lot less the coming months...

And after that the normal things had to be done and all of that made time fly and so I took a little 'break' while I didn't meant to.

The 2nd project I made last Friday, was again a frosty world, but this time one with a tropical world in it... I think the contrast is so beautiful and the bell jar stencil is so much fun to use...

Schaatsen / Ice skating

Het is hier een tijdje grijs en nat geweest nadat we 10 witte en winterse dagen hebben gehad en nu vriest het 's nachts en schijnt de zon lekker overdag. De zon maakt dat ik meer energie heb en dat komt alles en iedereen ten goede! En we hebben eindelijk voor de 1e keer kunnen afspreken voor een stempel donderdagmiddag (nu een keer op vrijdag) om weer wat te maken; heerlijk! 

Dat werd ook tijd, want m'n 'mojo' was ver te zoeken en ik maakte geen tijd om ervoor te haan zitten en iets te maken...

Ik heb weer andere dingen gemaakt als in de posts hiervoor; ik hou van afwisseling...

Deze maand had ik nog niets gemaakt voor de uitdaging bij Lavinia, dus daar ben ik als eerste mee verder gegaan. Heerlijk hoe je je kan laten wegvoeren in een andere, magische wereld... En dit keer is het een koude wereld...

It has been a bit gray and wet here after we had 10 wihte and winter days and now we have freezing nights and great sunny days, That sun makes that I have more energy and that is good for anything! And finally we had a stamping Thursday afternoon (on a friday) to make something again; lovely! 

That was due, because my 'mojo' had left ne and I didn't make time to sit diwn and create something...

And I made something else as the ones in the posts before this one; I love doing different things...

I didn't made anything for this months challenge at Lacinia jet, so that is what I tackled first, Lovely to how you can get carried away on another, magical world... And this time it is a cold world...

Opwarmen / Warming up

Dit is alweer de laatste in deze serie waarbij ik prints trok van stencils die ik gebruikte om doorheen te sponzen.

Rood en blauw zijn kleuren die je moeilijker ergens van af kunt krijgen en dat merkte ik ook weer toen ik een rood beïnkt stencil op aquarelpapier schoonmaakte; ook op een 2e stuk papier kreeg ik een leuke achtergrond daarvanaf. Met wat gestempelde, ingekleurde en uitgeknipte kaarsen en washitape en stickerfiguren is dit project precies geworden wat ik bij het begin als idee had:

Red and blue are colors yiu don't get of of somethng easy and that was what I notoced when I cleaned a stencil with that had red ink on it.; the 2nd print wasalso a nice background. With some stamped, colored and cut-out candles and washitape and some sticker images this turned out exactly as what my idea was at the start:

Nu ik dit stencil op deze 2 manieren heb gebruikt kreeg ik steeds meer ideeën om het stencil op andere manieren te gebruiken, maar daar ga ik op een later tijdstip wel weer mee aan de gang; na dit project wil ik even weer wat anders gebruiken.

Now I used this stencil in these 2 ways, I got more and more ideas to use this stencil in different ways, but that is something I will go 'play' with another time; after this project I wanted to use something else...

Een stap... / One step...

Rood en blauw zijn kleuren die je moeilijker ergens van af kunt krijgen en dat merkte ik ook weer toen ik een rood beïnkt stencil op aquarelpapier schoonmaakte; de 1e print die ik op een stuk aquarelpapier maakte van een stencil dat ik voor sponzen gebruikte gaf een leuke en best sterke achtergrond. 

Met wat gestempelde, ingekleurde en uitgeknipte kaarsen en washitape en stickerfiguren is dit project precies geworden wat ik bij het begin als idee had:

Er loopt een streepje door.../ A stripe is running through

Bij mijn nieuw gekregen stencils zit deze gestreepte. Ik vind dit soort stencils al jaren leuk, dus ik was blij dat ik er weer een aantal tegenkwam en kon bestellen.

Maar dan, dat kan gewoonweg niet alles zijn... Dus eerst maar eens het stencil schoongemaakt door er 2 printen van te 'trekken'. Daarna in mijn doosje met figuren gezocht en deze 3 dames gevonden. Nog rood cardstock gevinden en daarop met een stencil en witte Sharpie allerlei gebogen lijnen gemaakt. De tekst vond ik in een doos met stansjes. En dat was precies genoeg vond ik...

Between my new gifted stencils is this striped one. For years I think this kind of stencils are so fun, so I was glad I found a few again and could order them.

But than, that could not be all... So first I cleaned the stencil by 'pull' two prints of of it. Than I went through my box with girl omages and found these 3 ladies. And found some red cardstock and made all kinds of bowed lines on it wth a white Sharpie. The text was one I found in a box with die-cuts. And I thaught that was just enough...
