Twee labels / Two tags

Tussen mijn nieuwe stempelsets vond ik wat kleinere stempels. Die passen prima op deze kleine stukken papier die ik overhield bij het op maat snijden van aquarel papier. Op de ene heb ik een stencil xchoongemaakt (een 2e print van het stencil dat ik hier gebruikte) en daarna nog inkt opgedept van een ander stencil. de andere hield ik wat meer CaS. Beiden gebruik ik als labels voor op een kadootje, vandaar dat uk er ook nog geen gaatjes ingemaakt heb; dat doe ik als ik weet hoe ik ze wil gebruiken...

Between my new stamping sets I found some smaller stamps. Those fit perfectly on the little pieces pf aquarelpaper that were leftover when I cut some of it to rge seize I needed. On the first of them I cleaned a stencil (a 2nd print gtom the stencil I used here) and after that I mopped up some ink from other stencils. I use both of them as labels/tags for on a present, That is why I didnlt put holes in them; that I''ll do when I now how I will use them...

Zomerse verjaardagskaart met een print / Summer Birthdaycard with a print.

Begin Juli is mijn zus jarig, en natuurlijk maakte ik een kaart voor haar. Zij woont in Spanje. Het ene jaar verstuur ik deze gewoon en andere jaren krijgt ze 'm eerder als ze in Nederland is of later als iemand naar haar toe gaat. Dit jaar krijgt ze 'm wat later. 

De achtergrond is een stuk aquarelpapier waar ik weer een stencil op schoonmaakte van dit project. Het zag er zo zonnig uit en, omdat zij in Spanje woont en in de zomer jarig is, leek het me leuk er een heel zomerse kaart van te maken.

At the start of July it is my sister's Birthday and of course I made a card for her. She lives in Spain. One year I sent the card with the mail and other years she gets it earlier when she is in the Netherlands or later when someone is going to her. This year she gets it a bit later.

The background is again a piece of aquarelpaper on wich I cleaned a stencil from this project. It looks so sunny, and, because she lives in Spain and her Birthday is in Summer, I thought it would be nice to make a very summerly card.

Zonneschijn 1e print / Sunshine first print

Ik moet zeggen dat het een beetje verslavend werkt om steeds je stencils eerst schoon te maken door er een print van te trekken, maar het blijft een leuke techniek. Die lukt het best met meer en wat fellere en/of donkere kleuren. De 1e print die ik van het stencil trok dat ik voor dit project had gebruikt, was dan ook niet zo duidelijk; het werden meer groene vlekken... Dus heb ik het stencil goed schoongemaakt en omgedraaid erop gelegd en zo nog een keer door het stencil gespomst.met gele DO. Nog een tekst erbij en dat was het...

I must say that it is getting addictive to clean the stencils every time on aquarelpaper by taking a print of it, but it still is a fun technique, The first print I took from the stencil I used in this project left me with a not so clear image; it became a splashes background... So I cleaned the stencil and turned it around on the paper and sponged it again with yellow DO. A sentiment to go with it and that was it...

Beloof me... / Promise me...

Voordat er weer een heel warme periode hier aanbrak volgens de voorspellingen, was er weer een donderdagmiddag die niet te warm was er dus gingen we die middag weer lekker aan de gang met stempels, stencils en meer... Ik had mijn achtergrondendoos meegenomen en heb als eerste deze Gelliplate achtergrond gemaakt met verf op de maat gemaakt die ik wilde gebruiken,  daarna door een stencil gesponst, een tekst erbij gezocht en een gedeelte van de repen die ik er eerder afgesneden had voor het merendeel weer opgeplakt.

Before there was coming another heatwave here as the forcast says, there was a Thursday afternoon on wich it wasn't too hot, so we had a fun afternoon agin, playing with stamps, stencils and more... I took my background box with me and the first one I took out of it and wanted to use was this Gelliplate background made with paint. I cut it to the seize I wanted it to be, sponged through a stencil, looked for a fitting sentiment and glued most of the pieces that I had cut off back on it.

Zoals je misschien wel gemerkt hebt, doe ik dit jaat niet mee aan een Zomer Challenge. Vanwege het veel te vaak té warme weer waardoor ik niet in mijn hobbykamertje aan de slag kan én omdat ik dit jaat andere dingen wil doen die al een paar jaar zijn blijven liggen en ik ook weer meer fotografeer heb ik er ook minder tijd voor. En ik heb er ook geen leuke gevonden om aan mee te doen.Wie weet volgend jaat weer...

As you may have noticed, I'm not participating in a Summer challenge this year. Due to the to often too hot weather that makes that it is too hot in my little craftroom to do anything there and because I want to do some other things this year that I've put on hold for a while, and because I'm taking more photo's again, I have less time for it. Plus I haven't found a fun one to join. Who knows, maybe next year...

Aan het werk in de zomerhitte (Print 1) / Working in the Summer heat (Print 1)

Zoals ik al eerder schreef, kreeg ik met het schoonmaken van een van het stencil die ik op dit project gebruikte kreeg ik maar liefst twee leuke prints. De tweede print gebruikte ik al eerder hier, maar de eerste print was misschien nog wel leuker, in ieder geval helderder van kleur. En zo samen met het origineel gaf het weer een heel ander efect. Dat maakte dat ik er niet te veel overheen wou zetten en dus alleen een kleine stempel en tekst heb gebruikt en ingekleurd.

As I wrote earlier, I got two fun prints by cleaning up of the stencil I used on this project. I used the second print on an earlier project here, but the first print was mayby the most beautiful of the two, it had brighter colors. And so together with the original it has a totally different efect. That made that I didn't want to put much on top of it, so I only used a small stamp and a sentiment and colored it.

Zoals meestal als ik begin met iets te maken voor de uitdaging bij Lavinia, heb ik meteen meer ideëen. Dus heb ik er nog maar een met die stempels gemaakt. Al een tijdje wil ik de vazen stencils weer eens gebuiken (en de laatste tijd heb ik sowieso veel zin om stencils te gebruiken), dus die erbij gepakt en meer en dit was het resultaat:

De hitte is even weg; jippie! Dus we hadden weer een stempeldonderdagmiddag; heerlijk! En een nieuwe maand, dus ook weer een nieuwe uitdaging bij Lavinia en voor mij een kans om nog wat van de laatste stempels van dat merk die nog geen inkt hadden gezien te gebruiken...

The heatwave is gone for a while; jippie! So we had a stamping Thursday afternoonagain; lovely! And it is a new month, so a new challenge at Lavinia and for me a change to get some ink on some of the stamps from that brand that hadn't seen ink jet...

Banksy; Stop wars!

Dit vierde project kreeg ik niet meer af op de stempeldonderdagmiddag dat ik de andere maakte, dus heb ik 'm de volgende stempeldonderdagmiddag afgemaakt. De achtergrond is weer een stuk papier waarop ik een stencil heb schoongemaakt. Gebruikt in dit project. Ik heb het gedeelte dat 'kaal' bleef na het opdeppen van de inkt van het stencil ingevuld door door een ander stencil te sponzen en de figuur 'gegrond' door zelf grond te tekenen.

This fourth project I couldn't finish on the that stamping Thursday afternoon that I made the others on, so I finished it on the next stamping Thursday afternoon. The background is again made by cleaning a stencil. Used in this project.

I filled the part that remind 'bare' after dabbing the ink off the stencil by sponging through another stencil, and grounded the image by drawing the ground myself

Vader en dochter print 2 / Father and daughter print 2

Als je dan een stencil schoonmaakt op aquarelpapier, kun je proberen er een tweede print van te 'trekken'. Dat deed ik met het stencil dat ik voor mijn vaderdag kaart (hier) gebruikte ook. Je krijgt dan een veel vagere afdruk, waarbij vaak alleen de kleuren met veel pigment te zien zijn. Dat gebeurde hier ook. Dus heb ik het stencil drooggemaakt en er andersom op gelegd en ben toen er weer doorheen gaan blenden en kleuren met inkt en water. Eenmaal thuis heb ik deze afgemaakt met wasgitape en een vellum tekst

If you clean a stencil on watercolor paper, you can try to 'draw' a second print from it. I did that with the stencil I used for my Father's day card (here) as well. You get a much lighter print, where often only the highly pigmented colors are visible. Rhat happened here too.  So I dried the stencil and placed it upsife fown, and started blending partsn of it and coloring it with ink and water. Once home I finished this one with washitape and a vellum sentiment.

Vader en dochter print 1 / Father and daughter print 1

Er is niets heerlijkers dan spelen met water en inkt en stempels en/of stencils vind ik... En dus was het niet meer dan logisch dat ik na het maken van mijn vaderdagkaart (hier) het stencil schoonmaakte op een stuk aquarelpapier. Je weet van te voren niet of er een mooie print vanaf komt, maar deze vond ik dus weer mooi en wilde ik meteen gebruiken. Ik had geen dingen meegenomen die ik kon gebruiken om deze af te maken, dus met het warme weer heb ik deze tussen alles door  deze thuis af gemaakt. Het enige dat ik er verder aan toegevoegd heb is wat washitape en een tekst.

Het was weer een warme nacht, ondanks onweer en regen en het word alweer een te warme dag... ik ben er helemaal klaar mee... Ik hoop echt dat het vanaf maandag 'maar' 27 graden word...

I think there is nothing more delightful than playing with water, ink, stamps and/or stencils... So ot was inly logical that after maling my atger day card (here), I cleaned the stencil on a piece of watercolor paper. You never know in advance i it will produce a nice print, but I thought this obe looked beautiful and I wanted to use it immediately. I hadn't brought anything along that I could use to finish it, so with the warm weather, I finished this at home in between everything else. The only thing I added to it is somw washitape and a sentiment.

It was again a warm night altough it rained and we had thunder and lightning, it is going to be a too hot day... I'm totally done with it... Hoping that from Monday it really will be only 27 degrees...

Vaderdagkaart

Ik was al een tijdje aan het bedenken wat voor vaderdagkaart ik zou maken. En op het moment dat ik dit stencil zag wist ik het. Dus ik bestelde het en toen moest ik alleen nog afwachten of het stencil op tijd met de post zou komen... Dat lukte en ik heb me vermaakt met blendingtools en verschillende kleuren inkt...

I was thinking about what kind of fathersday card I would make or a while. And on the moment I saw this stencil I knew it. So I ordered it and just had to wait if the stencil would arrive on time...  It did and I had fun with blendingtools and diferent colors ink...

Een midzomer maan in CaS-stijl / A midsummer moon in CaS-style

Nadat ik al een Art JournalPage met Lavinia stempels had gemaakt, lagen er nog een aantal nieuwe (en voor mij nieuwe) stempels die ik wilde gebruiken. En omdat het alweer een tijd terug was dat ik een CaS-kaart gemaakt had, moest het in die stijl worden... En natuurlijk moest het ook binnen het thema van de uitdaging van deze maand bij Lavinia passen, zodat ik daar mee kon doen...

After I made an Art Journal Page with  a few new (and for me new) stamps, there were stil a few that I wanted to ise. And, because it has been a while since I made a CAS card, it had to be one in that style... Midzomer maan / Midsummer's moon

De eerste dag van weer een hittegolf in dit voorjaar was er een waarop we blij waren dat het in huis (nog) niet zo warm was en hebben we op de stempeldonderdagmiddag fijn wat dingen kunnen maken. Ik denk niet dat mijn inkt goed reageerd als ik die probeer te gebruiken bij 34 graden zoals voor later word voorspeld en m'n hobbykamertje is dan ook niet de fijnste plek om dan te zijn...

Dus blij dat ik op die eerste hitte-dag veel heb kunnen maken...

Oké, ik heb heel veel stempels van Lavinia en zelfs een aantal (voor mij) nieuwe, dus daar wil ik wat meer mee doen... Simpel gezegd, maar ik ben er toch wel even mee bezig geweest voor het af was...

The first day of yet another heatwave this spring was one where we were glad it wasn't (yet) that hot inside the house, and we were able to make some nice things on the stamping Thursday afternoon. I son't think my ink would react verry well when it is 34 degrees, as is ptrficted for later on, and my little craftroom isn;t the nicest place to be than. 

So I'm glad I was able to make a lot on that first hot day...

I have a lot of stamps rom Lavinia and a few of them are (for me) new ones, so I wanted some o them on my new project... Simple to say, but it took me a while to finish this one...

Banksy; Make art not war

Dit derde project met een Banksy stempel begon met het maken van de achtergrond, waarmee ik een hoop diepte wilde verkrijgen. Daarna heb ik de stempel op een ander stuk papier gestempeld, gesponst en uitgeknipt. Toen ben ik in mijn al uitgestanstte dingen doos gaan zoeken en kwam deze penselen, palet en verftube tegen. Dus die ook eens gebruikt... Heel anders geëindigd met dit project als dat ik voor ik begon had gedacht, maar ook dat is wel weer een een keer leuk...

This third project with a Banksy stamp started by creating the background with what I wanted to achhieve a lot of depth. After that I stamped the image onto another piece of paper, sponged it, and cut it out. Then I went searching in my already die-cut items and came scross these brushes, palette and paint tube. So I used those too... This project ended up very differently than I had imagine before I started, but that's also fun for a change...

Banksy; I want change

En ik ben nog even verder gegaan met wat Banksy stempels. Dit keer heb ik ze gecombineerd met wat achtergronden die ik nog had liggen in mijn doos. Het zijn achtergronden gemaakt door het schoonmaken van stencils op aquarelpapier van dit project en dit project. Ik wilde vooral een contrast in de achtergrond met de stempel.

And I went on with more Banksy stamps. This time I combined them with some backgrounds that were still in my backgroundbox. These backgrounds are made by cleaning stencils for this project and this project. I wanted a contrst between the background and the stamp.

Banksy; I see humans no...

In mei ging ik naar de Banksy tentoonstelling in Utrecht. Doordat het heel erg warm was toen, een doordeweekse dag en ik met bus en trein zou gaan en anderen andere verplichtingen hadden, ging ik in mijn eentje op pad. En alleen maar naar een tentoonstelling gaan is ook niet voor iedereen de moeite waard als je best wat aan vervoerskosten hebt. Helemaal niet erg; ik geniet van het weer eens van met de trein (en bus) gaan; dat heb ik eigenlijk al jaren niet meer gedaan... Het gooide me een beetje terug in de tijd toen ik zo vaak met de trein onderweg was voor werk, familiebezoek en afspraken met vrienden. Het uitzicht vanuit de trein op het stuk van Eindhoven naar Utrecht was zo bekend op een of twee dingen na die anders waren. Niet veel dus in zoveel jaren... 

De tentoonstelling was super en weer wat meer geleerd en een betere tijdslijn verkregen m.b.t. het werk van Banksy. 

Lekker buiten in de zon geluncht en verder alleen maar genoten van het in mijn eigen (door de slechte knie langzame) tempo die dag doorbrengen...

Natuurlijk wilde ik weer thuis wat met de indrukken doen, en, omdat ik wat Banksy stempels heb, heb ik er daar een aantal van gebruikt. De achtergrond herken je misschien van het project uit mijn vorige post:

In May I went to the Banksy exhibition in Utrecht. Because it was very hot at the time, it was a weekday, and I was by bus and train while others had other commitments, I set of on my own. And going to an exhibition alone isn't worth the effort for everyone if you have quite a bit of transportation costs. Not a problem at all; I enjpy taking the train (and bus) again; I actually haven't done that in years... It thres me back in time a bit when I was traveling by train so often for work, visiting family and meeting friends. The vieuw from the train on the stretch from Eindhoven to Utrecht was so familiar, except for one of two things that were changed. So, not much in so many years...

The exibition was great, and I learned a bit more and gained a better timeline regarding Nanksy's work. Had a lovely lunch outside in the sun and otherwise just enjoyed spending the day at my own pace (slow due to the bad knee)...

Naturally I wanted to do something with the impressions when I was back home, and, since I have some Banksy stamps, I used a few of them here. You may recognise the nackground rom the project in my last post:

Op het feest / At the party

Omdat ik op die ene donderdagmiddag alleen al 7 prints 'trok' toen ik mijn stencils schoonmaakte, kun je wel begrijpen dat mijn achtergrondendoos niet gauw leeg zal raken. (En ook het DP word zo niet minder; ik maak steeds zelf achtergronden...)

Dus probeer ik vaak meteen als ik ze gemaakt heb er ook een heel aantal van te gebruiken, Dit was de laatste die ik op een van de stempeldonderdagmiddagen gebruikte en deze kwam van toen ik het stencil schoonmaakte van dit project. Ik heb er twee feestende RongRong dames en een tekst op gestempeld en heb er thuis nog wat washitape bijgezocht.

Lekker zo af en toe een snelle Page!

Because I on just one stamping thursday afternoon already took 7 'prints' when I cleaned my stencils, you can understand that my background box won't be empty any time soon. (And also the DP won't decrease this way either; I almost always make my own backgrounds...) So I often try to use quite a few of them immediately after I made them. This was the last one I used on one of the stamping thursday afternoons and it cane from cleaning the stencil for this project. I stamped two partying RongRong ladies and a text on it and picked some washitape to go with it when I was home again.

Nice such a quick Page every now and then!

Naar het feest / To the party

Van het stencil dat ik gebruikte voor mijn moederdagkaart (hier), kon ik bij het schoonmaken nog twee mooie prints 'trekken'. Een ervan gebruikte ik als achtergrond voor deze Art Journal Page. De RongRong stempels blijf ik leuk vinden en ik had nog een set niet gebruikt, dus een van de dames kwam hierop. De ballonnen lagen al klaar bij mijn uitgestanste figuren. Ik had natuurlijk geen ijzerdraad meegenomen naar de stempeldonderdagmiddag, dus die heb ik er thuis nog op gemaakt. 

From the stencil that I used for my mother's day card (here), I could take two nice 'prints' by cleaning the stencil. One of these I used as a background for this Art Journal Page.The RongRong stamps are still one of my many favorites and I had a set that I didn't used, so one of the ladies had to go on here, The balloons were already cut, I didn't take any metelthread, so that was the only thing I had to do at home.
