Soms is de achtergrond van een CaS-kaart niet helemaal effen. Deze kaart zou maar saai zijn geworden zonder de bogen van het schoonmaken van een stencil op dit papier. Wat vind jij?

Sometimes the background of a CASn card isn't totally clean. This card would became a dull one without the bows from cleaning a stencil on this paper. What do you think?

Tussen de sterren / Between the stars

Ik heb al een tijdje niet meer in mijn achtergrondjesbal gekeken. Dus heb ik,  voordat ik afgelopen donderdagmiddag aan de gang ging er even in gezocht en deze sterren achtergrond gevonden. Vond 'm wel passen bij deze laatste heksenstempels die ik dit jaar gekocht en nog niet gebruikt had...

Ik denk dat ik de Lavinia heksenstempels wel vaker zal gebruiken, zelfs als het geen Halloween seizoen is; ze zijn gewoon te mooi en ach, in de magische wereld zijn zij altijd aanwezig...

I haven't looked in my box with backgrounds for a while. So I did that before I started stamping last Thursday afternoon, and found this background with a lot of stars. Thought it fitted the last witch stamps that I bought this year and hadn't used...

Think I will use the Lavinia witches stamps even when it is no Halloween season; they are just too beautiful and they are always present in the magical world...

Ik ben zo blij dat ik graag en al lang met stencils werk... Waarom? Voornamelijk omdat ik door de extra uitdaging die ik mezelf geef in deze Zomer Challenge elke keer weer een ander effect of sfeer wil maken met het stencil... En ik hoop dat ik jou zo ook inspireer om meer stencils te gebruiken. 

I am so glad that I love to work with stencils for such a long time... Why? Well mostly because through the extra challenge I have given myself in this Summer Challenge, I want to make a different effect or feeling with the stencil every time... And I hope I inspire you by doing this to use more stencils too...

Weer drie dagen van de Zomer Challenge voor je. Deze maakte ik ook afgelopen donderdagmiddag. Ik geniet ervan steeds weer een iets andere sfeer aan de  projecten te geven, terwijl ik steeds met dezelfde soort elementen (stempel+stencil+2 achtergrondkleuren+zwarte streep) werk. 

Ik hoop dat jij ze weer leuk vind...

Again three days of the Summer Challenge for you. I made this too last Thursday afternoon. I just enjoy to give a bit different feel to these projects while working with the same elements (stamp+stencil+3 backgroundcolours+black stripe).

Zomer Challenge AJ dag 5+6 / Summer Challenge AJ day 5+6

Het is een beetje veel om twee Zomer Challenges tegelijk te doen, zeker met het hele warme weer dat we hier steeds weer hebben, dus is het niet gek dat ik met een van beide een heel eind achterloop... Maar, dat vind ik niet erg; ik heb er lol in de dagen van deze Zomer Challenge bij Art Journey te maken, omdat ik mezelf naast de dag woorden nog meer uitdagingen heb gesteld. Weet je het nog?  

Ik heb mezelf nog veel meer uitgedaagd door op elke kaart een stencil te gaan gebruiken én een zwarte lijn te trekken die begint op de plek waar ik de vorige dag 'm heb laten eindigen (niet duidelijk; kijk hieronder maar dan word het goed duidelijk wat ik bedoel). En ik heb me beperkt tot werken op correspondentiekaart grootte én ik heb m'n kleurenpalet voor de achtergrond beperkt tot 2 kleuren, waarvan ik er telkens een probeer 'mee te nemen' naar de volgende kaart. Daarmee maak ik het me niet makkelijk, maar dat puzzelen is wel leuk om te doen! 

Wat ik wel merk, is, dat het gauw te druk word om de stempels ook nog eens in te kleuren, dus op de meeste kaarten zijn de stempels niet ingekleurd.

In het tempo dat ik nu heb zal ik mogelijk de hele maand September nog met deze AJ- Zomer Challenge bezig zijn, maar he, dat geeft niet; twee Zomer Challenges is duidelijk te veel in de zomer...

It is a bit much to do two Summer Challenges at the same time, for sure with the hot weather that we have here again and again, so it is no surprise that I an way behind with one of them... But that is bo problem; I have fun in making the days of the AJ Summer Challenge, because I set some extra challenges for myself. Do you remember?

I challenged myself even more by going to use a stencil on each card and drawing a black line that starts where I ended it the day before (not clear; look below, than it will be clear what I mean). And I have limited myself to working on postcard size and limited my colour palette for the background to 2 colours, one of wich I will try to 'take over' to the next card. That doesn't make it easy for me, but puzzling is fum to do!

What I notice, is that it is getting too busy on the cards so quickly that it is mostly too much to colour the stamped images, so that is why most of the stamped images are not coloured.

With the pace I have now I will possibly be making these for the AJ Summer Challenge even in September, but he, I don't mind; two Summer Challenges is for sure too much in the Summer time...

Zomer Challenge dag 14+15+16 / Summer Challenge day 14+15+16

We waren goed op dreef donderdagmiddag! Ik maakte heel wat dagen van de Zomer Challenge. En maar goed ook, want de vrijdag en zaterdag was het echt veel te warm om veel te doen... niet alleen in mijn hobbykamertje, maar het was sowieso veel te warm om veel te doen... Dus was ik blij dat ik er veel gemaakt had. 

Dag 14: De duikplank-prompt heb ik gemaakt door 3 keer een silhouet te sponzen met zwart en wat lijnen met fel roze getrokken te hebben. En de achtergrond is een kaart uit de achtergrondendoos.

Dag 15 is een geprint plaatje van internet met de vrolijke dames van een stencil, wat getekende grond en kleur.

Voor dag 16 kon ik het niet laten nog een keer de meisjes op de schommel van Andy Skinner te gebruiken. En weer gemaakt met een achtergrond die uit mijn achtergrondendoos kwam!

We were on a roll Thursday afternoon! I made a lot of the days from the Summer Challenge. And that is good, because this Friday and Saterday it was way too warm to do a lot... and not only in my crafts room; it was simply too warm to do a lot... So I was happy I made a bunch.

Day 14: I made the diving bord-prompt by sponging a silhouet three times in black and drew some lines with a bright pink. And the background is one from the background box.

Day 15 is a printed image from internet with the happy ladies from a stencil, some draw floor and some colour.

For day 16 I just had to use the girls on the swing stamp from Andy Skinner again. And I made it again with a background from my background box!

Zij 2 / She 2

Toen ik dit project gemaakt had heb ik het stencil met de inkt naar boven op mijn werkmatje gelegd, er water over gespoten en een stuk aquarelpapier opgelegd en erover gewreven. Dat gaf een heel mooie afdruk die ik meteen maar verder bewerkt heb door het stencil schoon te maken, om te keren en zo lichtjes met zwarte DO erover te sponzen. Mooi is dat je zo een achtergrond krijgt die precies op de juiste plek zit, zonder dat je over een heel stuk papier hoeft te gaan sponzen of over of onder het nu lichtjes gesponsde gezicht te moeten gaan...

When I made this project I put the stencil with the ink up on my work mat, sprayed water over it and put a piece of aquarelpaper on it and rubbed over it. That made a fine print that I sponged lightly with black DO after I cleaned the stencil. It is fun that you get a background that is coloured on just the right spots, without having to sponge the whole paper or have to sponge over or under the now lightly sponged face...

Zij 1 / She 1

Ik was in een bui om hele koele en heel heldere kleuren bij elkaar te gebruiken (komt vast door het weer met de zonnige en regenperiodes die elkaar steeds afwisselen). Ik heb een van mijn stencils genomen van een vrouwenhoofd en die met deze kleuren gesponst. Ik vond het resultaat zo al krachtig genoeg dat ik alleen een tekst erbij heb gezocht...

En ik heb nog een gave achtergrond van het stencil kunnen trekken, maar dat zie je een volgende keer...

I was in the mood to use 'cool' colours and bright ones together (might have something to do with the sunny and rainy periods that alternate again and again). I took one of my stencils with a ladies head and sponged in those colours. I thought the result was bold enough, so I just searched for a text to go with it...

And I coulf pull a good background from the stencil, but that is something for another time...

3x hetzelfde stencil 3 / 3x the same stencil 3

Zoals ik al eerder hier en hier schreef;

In mijn 'nog af te werken'-doos zaten ook 3 achtergronden met daarop al gestencild raam en vogel. Alle 3 net even anders, maar duidelijk in dezelfde periode gemaakt. De 1e is het origineel en de andere 2 zijn (in die volgorde) duidelijk gemaakt door met water op het stencil te spuiten en deze af te drukken. Daarom is de 3e ook het lichtste.  Waarom ik die niet afmaakte weet ik niet, maar toen ik op zoek was naar iets om af te maken kwam ik deze tegen en ben ik eerst hiermee aan de slag gegaan. Ik heb ze alle 3 anders afgewerkt, maar laat ze in verschillende posts zien om jou te inspireren en te laten zien hoe anders iets eruit kan zien terwijl je 3x dezelfde basismaterialen gebruikt... Dit is de 3e:

Gisteren zag ik iets dat me een stukje terugwierp in de tijd; Op een weg waar je 70 mag rijden, maar wel met verkeerslichten, ging het licht voor mijn rijrichting op groen, maar er trok niemand op, want er staken een herder met kudde schapen en twee schaapshonden de weg over. Een beeld dat je tegenwoordig niet meer vaak ziet. Ik heb ervan genoten...

Zoals ik al eerder hier schreef;

Yesterday I saw something that threw me back in time; On a road where you are allowed to drive 70, but with traffic lights, the light for my lane went on to green, but no one started driving, because there was a sheperd with a flock of sheep and two sheep dogs were crossing the road. An image that you don't see often these days. I enjoyed it...

3x hetzelfde stencil 1/ 3x the same stencil 1

In mijn 'nog af te werken'-doos zaten ook 3 achtergronden met daarop al gestencild raam en vogel. Alle 3 net even anders, maar duidelijk in dezelfde periode gemaakt. De 1e is het origineel en de andere 2 zijn (in die volgorde) duidelijk gemaakt door met water op het stencil te spuiten en deze af te drukken. Daarom is de 3e ook het lichtste.  Waarom ik die niet afmaakte weet ik niet, maar toen ik op zoek was naar iets om af te maken kwam ik deze tegen en ben ik eerst hiermee aan de slag gegaan. Ik heb ze alle 3 anders afgewerkt, maar laat ze in verschillende posts zien om jou te inspireren en te laten zien hoe anders iets eruit kan zien terwijl je 3x dezelfde basismaterialen gebruikt...

In my 'still-to-finish'-box were also 3 backgrounds with already stencilled window and bird on it. all 3 slightly different, but for sure made in the same periode of time. The first one is the original one and the 2 others are (in this order) clearly made by spraying some water over the stencil and print these.  Why I didn't finished them I don't know, but when I was looking for something to finish I came across these 3 and got working on them first. I finished them all three slightly different, but show them in three posts, to inspire you and to show you how different they can look while using 3x the same basic materials...

Als ik aan het kijken ben in mijn dozen met uitgestanste dingen om te zien wat je wilt gebruiken, komen er bij veel dingen gelijk wat ideëen naar boven. Deze achtergrond had ik als 1e en de ronde vormen vond ik erna, met als de tak met de vogels. Nog een mooie zin tussen mijn tekststickers gevonden die wel past bij mijn gevoel van deze week en dat was het weer...

If I am looking in my boxes with already cut die-cuts to see what I want to use, with a lot of the die-cuts I have ideas right away. This background was the first thing I took and the round shapes where the 2nd I found, together with the branch with birds, I looked for a nice sticker text that fits my feelings this week and the page was ready...

Allemaal stencils / All stencils

Telkens als ik een stencil heb gebruikt en er zit heel veel inkt op, pak ik een stuk aquarelpapier, spuit het stencil flink in met water, leg het aquarelpapier erop en wrijf er goed overheen. Zo is deze achtergrond ook gemaakt. Je zou (bijna)  niet geloven dat deze achtergrond komt van het stencil dat ik voor deze achtergrond heb gebruikt... Terwijl ik de 3e page van die donderdagmiddag afwerkte, heb ik deze achtergrond aan de lucht laten drogen. Daarna heb ik nog 2 andere stencils gebruikt... en dat was het weer voor deze bladzijde... 

Everytime that I have used a stencil and there is a lot of ink on it, I take a piece of aquarelpaper, sprits the stencil with a lot of water, put the aquarelpaper on it and rub over it. That is also the way I made this background. You would (almost) not believe that this background is made with rubbing the stencil that I used for this background for the pieces... While I finished the 3th page of that thursday afternoon, I let this background dry on the air. After drying I put more on it with two other stencils ... and that was all again for this page...

Vandaag alweer de 2e dag van deze nieuwe maand! En... dit is al het 111e project dat ik je dit jaar laat zien! Niet schrikken; ik heb er al meer staan in nieuwe posts; dit jaar heb ik er echt lol in om zoveel mogelijk ideeën uit mijn hoofd en op papier te krijgen...

Today the 2nd day of a new month already! And this is already the 111th project that I show you this year! Don't scare yourself; I have many more in new posts; this year I really find so much satisfavtion to get as much as possible ideas out of my head and onto paper...

Zomer Challenge 2022 13+15/23/56+41 / Summer Challenge 2022 13+15/23/56+41

Héhé, eindelijk is het wat koeler geworden! Dat betekend weer veel van de dingen doen die er voor deze zomer op de planning stonden voor in en rond het huis. En, dat betekend voor mij dat ik ook weer met plezier in mijn hobbykamertje kan zijn; eerder was het daar gewoon veel te warm. En ja het werkt natuurlijk niet fijn als je water al bijna verdampt is op je kwast, voordat je het papier maar hebt kunnen aanraken... Al waren er wel weer wat warmere dagen tussendoor, maar met wat tijd voor mijzelf en wat ideeën die nu echt op papier moesten, ben ik toch weer verder gegaan met de Zomer Challenge dagen/prompts. Je vind er weer 3 in deze post.

Héhé, finally it is wat cooler! So I cam do some of the thinks I had planned for in and around the house. And now I can go in my craftroom and stay there with pleasure; the whole week it was just too hot in there to be in there. And it isn't fun when the water on your brush is almost evaporated before you can tuch the paper with it... Even though we got a few warm days again,, with some me-time on hand and some ideas that just had to go on paper now, I went on with the days/prompts of the Summer Challenge. You can find 3 of them in this post.
