Nog een keer eekhoorns / Squirrels again

Nadat ik deze kaart met de eekhoorns had gemaakt, wilde ik meer van de eekhoorns uit de set gebruiken. Dus ben ik door mijn achtergrondendoos gegaan en kwam daar deze met een mooie kleurencombinatie tegen. Hierop komen de eekhoorns die ik gekleurd heb mooi uit en kon ik ook nog wat takjes en bomen uit mijn voorraad gebruiken nadat ik ze had gekleurd...

After I made this cars with the squirrels, I wanted to use more of the squirrels of the set. So I went trough my background box and found this one with these beautiful colour combination. On this one the squirrels pop and I could use some branches and trees from my stash after I coloured them...

CaS in het weekend 440 / CAS in the weekend 440

Toen ik een tijd terug met een stempel- en stansset met een zee-thema iets maakte, vond ik het zonde om niet ook de stempel met de vuurtoren die erbij zat te gebruiken, Dus die gestempeld, wat kleur gesponst en de vuurtoren van wat rode strepen voorzien, een rond stencil zelfgemaakt van een ronde stans gebruikt om de cirkel te sponzen en deze tekst die er helemaal bij past erop gestempeld. Heerlijk om te maken deze kaart... En het doet me uitkijken naar weer eens een keer aan zee te zijn deze zomer...

When I made something with a stamp- and die-cut set with a sea-theme a while ago, I found it a pity if I wouldn't use the stamp with the lighthouse that came with the set. So I stamped it, gave it some colour by sponging, gave the lighthouse some red stripes and stamped this text that I think fits it perfectly on it. A super fun card to make... And it makes me longing for a day at the beach again this summer...

In de tuin / In the garden

Oké je kunt wel stellen dat het nu zomer is; het is vanaf dinsdag elke dag 28 of meer graden en droog... Dus weer te warm om heel veel te doen en 's middags en 's avonds niet fijn stempelen in mijn hobbykamertje; daar is het dan veel te warm...

Ik hoop dat de temperatuur snel weer naar tussen de 20 en 25 graden gaat en dat het droog blijft natuurlijk; dat geeft tenminste energie en daar kan ik lekker van genieten terwijl ik ook nog veel doe.

Deze stempel is een houten en daar gebruik ik er weinig van. Dat heeft met het aanbod en ook met het opbergen te maken... Ik kwam 'm jaren geleden op een boekenbeurs in het knutselgedeelte tegen. Vorige week heb ik 'm dan eindelijk gebruikt nadat ik 'm bij een opruimrondje weer tegen was gekomen.  Heerlijk Zen geworden bij het inkleuren...

Oké you can say it finally is Summer here; from Tuesday on it has been 28 or more degrees and dry... So it is too warm to do a lot and in the afternoon and evening it is too warm in my little craft room to get stamping...

I hope the temp will drop soon to somewhere between 20 and 25 degrees and that it still will be dry; that is the weather that gives me energy and so I can enjoy it and still get a lot done...

This stamp is a wooden one and I don't use them often. That has to do with the supply in the shops and also with storage,,, I cane across this one years ago at a book fair in the craft section. Last week I finally used it after I came across it during a clean-up round. I got in a wonderful Zen-mood while colouring this one...

Zij 1 / She 1

Ik was in een bui om hele koele en heel heldere kleuren bij elkaar te gebruiken (komt vast door het weer met de zonnige en regenperiodes die elkaar steeds afwisselen). Ik heb een van mijn stencils genomen van een vrouwenhoofd en die met deze kleuren gesponst. Ik vond het resultaat zo al krachtig genoeg dat ik alleen een tekst erbij heb gezocht...

En ik heb nog een gave achtergrond van het stencil kunnen trekken, maar dat zie je een volgende keer...

I was in the mood to use 'cool' colours and bright ones together (might have something to do with the sunny and rainy periods that alternate again and again). I took one of my stencils with a ladies head and sponged in those colours. I thought the result was bold enough, so I just searched for a text to go with it...

And I coulf pull a good background from the stencil, but that is something for another time...

And than you are ready for the opposite of what you have been doing (making or using busy backgrounds) on one of the fun Thursday afternoons and you find yourself making a more 'clean and simple' piece and ending up with this one...

Eekhoorns / Squirrels

Al een tijdje had ik wat stempels van grappige eekhoorns. (Een van mijn lievelingsdieren) in huis. Daar was ook een stanzenset bij uitgebracht, maar dat vond ik bij elkaar best duur worden en och, ik kon ze toch gewoon elke keer zelf uitknippen als dat moest? En toen zag ik pas geleden ergens dat de stanzen die erbij horen in de aanbieding waren voor de helft van de oorspronkelijke prijs... Die kon ik natuurlijk niet laten liggen... En dus heb ik er een kaart mee gemaakt...

Er worden minder druppels/heftige buien voorspeld, dus ik ben benieuwd of we nu toch zomer gaan krijgen... Zien is geloven...

For a while now I had some stamps with funny squirrels (One of my favorite animals) in my craftroom. They also had a matching die-cut set, but I found that one a bit pricy together and I could cut the squirrels out myself whenever I needed to do that... And then I saw lately somewhere the die-cut set for half of the normal price... I couldn't let them stay in the shop... And I made a card with them...

They predict less raindrops/heavy rain, so I am curious if we will get Summer here at least... Seeing is beleving...

Weer weekend na een drukke week... En dit weekend ook van alles weer geplant. Hoe fijn is het dan om in je achtergrondendoos een simpele achtergrond te vinden met twee strepen...(Ja ik weet dat ik veel van de al gemaakte achtergronden gebruik, maar ik wil eigenlijk wel eens de bodem van de doos kunnen zien en vind het zonde om ze niet te gebruiken) 

Het meisje met de ballonnen nog een keer gebruikt en erop geplakt, een tekst gezocht en gestempeld en zo heb je weer een eenvoudige en in dit geval ook snelle CaS-kaart gemaakt...

Weekend again after a busy week... And we have planned all kinds of things this weekend again. How good it is to find this simple background with two stripes in your background box. (Yes I know that I use a lot of the already made backgrounds, but I would really like to see the bottom of this box and think it is a shame not to use them)

I used the girl with the balloons again and glued her on it, searched for a text and stamped it and that is again a simple, and this time a quickly made CAS-card...

Geef je over... / Surrender...

Soms begint iets maken gewoon met een stempel/stansset die je nog niet gebruikt hebt en wat achtergronden die nog in je achtergrondendoos zaten en qua kleur mooi een zee en lucht kunnen zijn. De ene achtergrond is mat en aquarelpapier, de andere glanzend door de goudkleurige verf die erop uitgerold is bij het schoonmaken van de roller bij een GelliPlate middag. In de stempel/stansset zaten ook nog wat andere stempels van vogels dus die ook gestempeld en de tekst van een stencil gesponst en met een stift nagetrokken. Dit doet mij denken aan een lekkere dag op het strand...

Sometimes making something starts with a stamp and die-cut set that you haven't used before and some backgrounds that were in your background box and hadn't been used, but could be a nice see and sky just by their colours. One background is aquarelpaper and has a mat finish, the other one is shiny from the gold paint that was rolled onto it on a GelliPlate sessie one afternoon. In the stamp and die-cut set were two other stamps of birds, so I stamped these as wel and the text is sponged from a stencil and drawn over it with a black brush. This made me think of a day on the beach...

2x Ballonnen / 2x balloons

Vandaag 2 kaarten gemaakt met twee achtergronden gemaakt met alcoholinkt geblazen op chromoluxpapier. Zij lagen in mijn achtergrondendoos en vroegen er gewoon om om met dezelfde dingen in andere kleuren een set te maken. Dus ben ik in mijn al gestanste stanzendoos gaan zoeken en kwam een van mijn favorieten tegen; dit meisje met de ballonnen in zwart en wit. Omdat ze allebei niet genoeg naar voren kwamen op de drukke achtergrond, heb ik bij een het meisje op een label geplaatst en het andere meisje geel gesponst en die achtergrond ook wat geel gemaakt. De tekst op beiden is gemaakt met een stencil en sponzen en door met een zwarte stift de woorden na te trekken.

Today 2 cards made with two backgrounds with alcohol ink blown with a strow on chromoluxpaper. They leid in my background box and just called for making a set with the same materials in different colours. So I looked in my box with already die-cut die-cuts and came across one of my favorite ones; this girl with the balloons in black and white. Because they didn't pop up as much as I wanted on the busy background, I put the girl on a label on the first one and sponged the other yellow and put some yellow on the background too. The text on both is made with a stencil and sponging and drawing through it with a black brush.

Vaderdagkaart / Father's day card

Natuurlijk maakte ik ook dit jaar een vaderdagkaart voor mijn vader... Ik ben zo blij dat hij en mijn moeder nog in mijn leven zijn... Maar, ik had geen zin in de gewone dingen voor erop op voor de meer donkere mannelijke kleuren. In plaats daarvan ben ik voor water en water kleuren gegaan...

Of course I made a Father's day card for my father... I am so glad that he and my mom are still in my life... But, I didn't fancy the more used images and the more dark male colours. Instead I went for water and water colours...

Deze stempel lag al even te wachten om gebuikt te worden. En vandaag was ik in een zonnige bui doordat het eindelijk weer wat warmer en zonniger is... Heerlijk gekleurd en later de tekst erbij gezocht en gestempeld.

This stamp was laying around for a while to get inked. And today I was in a sunny mood because it was finally a bit warmer and sunnier again... I loved colouring this one and searched and found the text a bit later and stamped it on it.

Alweer weekend! Een week die zo voorbij was...

Deze keer ben ik voor wit op zwart gegaan, in tegenstelling tot vorige week (zie hier), waar ik voor zwart op wit was gegaan... Nog een keer de meisjes van Penny black gebruikt voordat die voor een tijdje opgeborgen worden...

Vlinders / Butterflies

Dit papier was een A4 bladzijde, naar ik heb 'm afgesneden zodat ik een 4-kant stuk papier had dat past in een van mijn vierkante Art Journals. En dus verdween er weer een achtergrond uit mijn doos... Doordat hierop en gesprayed is met inkt en  met inkt door een stencil gesprayed en gesponst is, is het best een drukke achtergrond, dus wilde ik er niet te veel op doen en niet met meer kleuren werken. in mijn doos met al gestanstte stansjes kwam ik deze vlinderrand tegen. Ik vond die stans al mooi toen die net uitgebracht was, kocht 'm veel later ergens in de aanbieding en toen lag deze dus een jaar of 5 alleen maar stof te happen voordat ik 'm nu eindelijk gebruikte... Ook de uitgestanstte vlinders en het woord komen uit die doos. Ik heb alle vlinders en het woord een kleurtje gegeven, opgeplakt en aantal gems en een tekststicker erbij gezocht en dat was alles wat ik erop wou doen...

This paper was an A4 page, but I cut it so I had a square piece of paper that would fit in one of my Art Journals. And so another background disappeared from my box... Because it has been sprayed with ink and ink has been sprayed and sponged through a stencil, it is quite a busy background, so I didn't want to put too much on it and didn't wánt to add more colours to the ones that already are on it. I came across this butterfly border in my box of already cut-out dies. I already liked this die when it was first released, bought it much later on a sale somewhere and then it gathered dust for about 5 years before I finally used it... The die-cut butterflies and the word came out of the same box. I gave all the butterflies and the word some colour, stuck them on and added some gems and a sticker text and that was all I wanted to put on it...

Geslaagd! / Graduated!

Vorige week kreeg onze dochter haar laatste cijfer terug en konden we haar feliciteren na al haar harde werk; Zij heeft haar Bachelor WO gehaald! Wij zijn zo trots op haar! Natuurlijk hoort daar een felicitatiekaart bij. 

Al een tijdje had ik daar dit meisje die een handstand doet voor in gedachten en haar heb ik maar liefst twee keer gebruikt...

Last week our daughter got her last grade back and we could congratulate her after all her hard work; She got her Bachelor's (WO) of Science degree! We are so prouf of her! Of course I had to make a card for her to congratulate her. 

For a  while now I had this stamp of a girl who does a handstand in mind and I ended up using her twice...

Een plekje om lang te blijven... / A place to stay for a long time...

Ik maakte een kaart met een grote stempel van een heerlijk uitziend plekje en kleurde die in. Daarna was ik aan het zoeken in mijn achtergrondendoos voor iets erbij en kwam deze achtergrond in precies passende kleuren tegen... Wat een geluk! Ik tekende twee lijnen en zocht kleine vogels die ik er op heb geplakt, gewoon om het witte nog een keer terug te laten komen...

I made a card with a big stamp from a terrific looking place and coloured it. After that I was flipping through my background box for something to go with it and found this background in fitting colours... What a luck found! Samen schommelen / Swing together

Dit word echt voorlopig de laatste keer dat ik een van de mooie stempels uit deze serie gebruik... Het word tijd me weer op andere stempels te richten! Maar goed, dus nog een keertje... 

Het laatste idee dat ik meteen had toen ik met de laatste paar stempels uit deze serie bezig was, en omdat ik allang niet meet ge-heat-embost had, was deze...

Weer een achtergrond uit mijn doos gebruikt. Nu een waar ik m'n verfroller op schoongemaakt tijdens een GelliPlate sessie. Het zijn heel simpele vlakken in verschillende kleuren die over elkaar heen gezet zijn. Daar bovenop de stempel met witte EP (=embossing poeder) gemaakt, veel washitape uit mijn berg aan washitapes gebruikt. (Oh jee; ik kan waarschijnlijk nog meer dan 10 jaar daarmee aan de slag...) Nog een tekst erbij en dat was het weer...

This is really going to be the last time (for a while) that I use one of the stamps from this beautiful serie... It is time that some other stamps see ink! But at the minute, just one again... 

The last idea I immediately had when I was working on the last few stamps from this seroes, and because I hadn't embossed in a long time, was this... I used another background from my background box. Now one that I cleaned my paint roller on during a GelliPlate session. They are very simple surfaces in different colours that are placed on top of each other. On top of them I stamped with white EP (=embossing powder), used a lot of washitape from my mountain of washitapes. (Oh dear; I probably can work with them for more than 10 years...) Added a text and that's it again...

CaS in het weekend 437 / CAS in the weekend 437

Weer weekend! En een wat drukker weekend... Vanaf vandaag is de poes van onze dochter een week onze logee, dus ziet de komende week er voor mij ook iets anders uit. Ik was er na een aantal weken geen kat in huis te hebben (bijna) aan gewent gewoon de deur uit te kunnen lopen en maar zien wanneer ik weer terug was... Nu moet er een kat op bepaalde tijden toch wat aandacht en vooral eten krijgen... Ook wel weer heel gezellig!

Ik kan het (nog) niet laten om meer te maken met de nieuwe serie stempels... Dus nog een keer de meisjes op de schommel stempel gebruikt om een rustige kaart/bladzijde te maken in CaS-stijl. Deze keer helemaal in zwart/wit... En na het maskeren achter de meiden een stad gesponst, alsof zij heel hoog in de lucht aan het schommelen zijn...

Weekend again! And a some what bussier weekend... From today the cat of our daughter is staying with us for a week, so the coming week will be slightly different for me. I was, after not having a cat in the house for a few weeks, (almost) used to just pop out and come back in the house whenever I like... Now there is a cat that has to be fed at different times and get some attention so I have to be home for that... That is also nice again!

I couldn't resist making more with the new stamps serie... So I stamped the girls on the swing again to make a tranquil card/ page in CAS-style. This time just in black and white...I have sponged a city behind the girls to make it look like they are swinging high in the sky...

Onder de paraplu / Under the umbrella

Ik denk dat ik met deze kaart/bladzijde alle nieuwe stempels uit de serie van Andy Skinner wel gebruikt heb. Sommige zelfs al meer dan een keer! Ik blijf ze zo mooi vinden... 

Maar natuurlijk heb ik nog meer stempels waar ik mee aan de slag wil en ideeën voor heb... Maar goed, terug naar deze stempel... Ik heb weer een achtergrond uit mijn achtergrondendoos gebruikt. Ongelooflijk wat een hoeveelheid aan achtergronden ik in heel wat jaren gemaakt heb! Die doos is heel langzaam leeg aan het raken. En wie weet trakteer ik mezelf tegen die tijd weer eens op een middagje spelen met de GelliPlate... 

Op de achtergrond heb ik met bruin gestempeld, wat roze door een hartjes stencil gesponst en nog wat meer bruin aangebracht met water en een kwast om de grond waarop ze staat wat 'steviger' te maken.

I think that I used all the new stamps from the serie from Andy Skinner with this card/page. Some of them I used even more than ones! I think these are so beautiful...

But of course I have more stamps wich I want to use and were I got some new ideas for...But back to this stamp... I used a background from my background box again. It is unbelievable how many backgrounds I made the last years! The box is slowly getting empty. And maybe by the time it is empty I will treat myself to an afternoon playing with the GelliPlate...

On the background I stamped in brown, sponged some pink through a heart stencil and added more brown with a brush and some water to make the ground she is standing on a bit bigger.

Twee.. / Two

En nog een kaart/bladzijde met nu twee nieuwe Andy Skinnerstempels... Hierbij heb ik ook weer een achtergrond uit mijn achtergrondendoos gebruikt. De stempels van het meisje met haar ballon en die van de jongen met zijn ballon  vroegen er gewoon om om samen gebruikt te worden... 

And another card/ page with now two new Andy Skinner stamps... I used again a background from my background box. The stamps of the girl with her balloon and the one with the boy and his balloon were just meant to be used together...

Vriendinnen / Friends

Even iets anders tussendoor gemaakt... 

Deze stempel zag ik toen ik de serie met de kinderen bestelde en kon ik niet laten liggen... Stempels met vriendinnen/broertjes/zusjes/paartjes die mooi getekend zijn en waar liefst ook nog een hoop beweging in de afbeelding zit kan ik maar moeilijk weerstaan. Herkenbaar toch? Zo iets waarvan je weet dat je het in stempelvorm maar moeilijk niet in je winkelwagentje kan leggen?

Maar goed terug naar de vriendinnen; ik stempelde op een achtergrond met daarop heel lichtjes een afdruk van een bloem (gemaakt door een stencil erop schoon te maken). Ook deze achtergrond komt weer uit mijn achtergronddoos. Die doos begint (jippie!! ) aardig leeg te raken...

Something different that I made in between...

This stamp was one I saw when I ordered the serie with the children and I just couldn't stop myself and threw it in the shopping cart... Stamps of friends/brothers/sisters/couples that are draw beautiful and especially the ones with a lot of movement in them. Recognizable or not? Something like that of wich you know you can't resist putting in your shopping cart?

But back to the friends; I stamped on a background with an imprint of a flower very lightly on it (made by cleaning a stencil on it). This background is also one that comes from my background box. That box is getting pretty empty (Yippie!!)...
