Pluk de dag / Carpe Diem

Een kaart maken voor mijn vader voor Vaderdag vind ik best wel een lastige elk jaar... Zo ook dit jaar, tot ik deze stanzen op een van de donderdag middagen bij Josje zag en mocht lenen. Die gecombineerd met een heel nieuw stencil, dat ik ondanks mijn grote verzameling toch kocht, omdat het zo mooi en anders was als allen die ik al heb.

En weer eens wat stukjes papier opgemaakt met een nieuwe stans.

Ik ben blij dat m'n vader 'm leuk vond...

To make a card for my Father for Fathers day is not that easy for me every year... So this year it was the same, until I saw these die-cuts from Josje on one of the Thursday afternoons and could borrow them from here. I combined these with a new stencil, that I bought in spite of my big collection of stencils, because it is such a beautiful and different one as the ones I already have.

And I again used some snippets with a new die-cut.

I'm glad my dad liked it...

Wat een week! Nat en harde wind en grijs (alleen gisteren een paar uur zon). Het is maar goed dat we wat extra lampjes hebben van de kerstversiering! En het is zo laat licht en zo vroeg donker... Echt de donkere dagen voor kerst dus!

Afgelopen donderdag hebben we eindelijk weer een gezellige en heel productieve stempelmiddag gehad. Je word toch wat meer geïnspireerd als je met z'n 2-en stempelt... 

Het lijkt wat gek, maar deze kaart is de laatste die ik die middag maakte. Wat ik verder maakte zie je later en zag je al gisteren, maar eerst deze scene. Ik vond 'm lekker ondeugend...

What a week! Wet and hard wind and gray (just yesterday a few hours of sunshine). It is good that we have extra lamps from the Christmas decorations! And it is so late before it is getting light outside and than it is so early when it is getting dark again... The real dark days before Christmas!

Last Thursday we finally had a fun and very productive stamping afternoon. You get more inspired when you are stamping together...

It is a bit strange, but this is the last one I made that afternoon. What I made more you can see here later ans one you saw already yesterday, but now first this scene. I thought it is a bit naughty one...

Deze bezem- en spin stempel wilde ik graag gebruiken; vind 'm zo leuk! En de pompoenen vond ik erbij passen. Niet al te 'spooky' deze kaart en ook de tekst was er een die er gewoon om vroeg gebruikt te worden. Al snel had ik het idee hoe ik deze allen wou combineren en deze CaS-kaart is het resultaat.

Hier word vanavond eindelijk de klok naar normale tijd terug gezet; veel te laat voor ons hier in Nederland, zodat de oorspronkelijke reden voor een Zomertijd; namelijk energie besparen voor ons helemaal niet meer van toepassing is; wat je in het voorjaar eventueel bespaart, heb je de afgelopen maand moeten gebruiken doordat je 's ochtends de lampen aan moest doen...

This broom- and spiderstamp ia one that I was keen on using; I think it is such a fun one! And the pumpkin stamp is a good match. Not a too spooky card and the text was one that I just had to use too. Very quickly I had the idea how I wanted to combine them and this CAS card is the result.

Over here this night the clock finally will get back to normal time; much too late for us here in The Netherlands, so the original reason for Summer time; namely saving energy is no longer applicable to us all; whatever you might have saved in Spring, you had to use last month because you had to turn on the lights in the morning...

Ik vlieg! / I'm flying!

Ook spinnen horen bij deze maand (of moet ik zeggen bij dit jaargetijde; ze proberen nu van jou huis hun thuis te maken...). Dus wilde ik deze grappige spin graag gebruiken en omdat de stansjes er nog lagen en dit mooie zwarte silhouet van een kat me wel leuk leek op de bezem, heb ik deze kaart/AJ Page gemaakt:

Vos in het bos / Fox in the wood

Vandaag eens door een van de mappen met snijmallen gegaan en daar kwam ik deze vos tegen. Nog wat bomen om te stempelen tussen mijn stempels gezocht en deze op aquarelpapier gebruikt. Met nog wat kleur en een blendingtool, water en potloden en een kwast erbij kwam het er toen zo uit te zien.

Today I looked through my binders with die-cuts and came across this fox. I looked for some trees to stamp with it in my stamps and used them on aquarelpaper. With some colour, a blendingtool, pencils, water and a brush all together it now looks like this.

Verscholen in het bos / Hiding in the forest

Nog maar eens in de bak met achtergronden gedoken en daar kwam ik deze tegen. Gezien het feit dat ik al heel lang niet meer iets geëmbossd heb, is deze echt een "oudje". De hoge delen zijn licht gekleurd en de paddenstoelenrij en eekhoorn zijn ingekleurd. Het is hier overdag nog steeds vaak zonnig, maar de nachten en ochtenden zijn fris en vochtig. Buiten zijn sommige bomen al kaal en anderen dragen nog verkleurde of groene bladeren en er zijn veel paddenstoelen, dus deze kaart geeft voor mij deze herfst aardig weer...

Again I reached in the background box and come acreoss this one. Since it is embossed, I think it must have been in there a long time, since I haven't been embossing for a long time. The high parts are slightly coloured and the toadstool row and squirrel are coloured. During the day it stil is often  sunny here, but the nights and mornings are chilly and moist. Outside some of the trees don't have any leaves anymore  and others have still autumn-coloured and green ones. There are so many toadstools, so this card shows this years Autumn pretty good for me...

Viooltjes en vlinders / Violets and butterflies

Zo, de energie is nog niet helemaal terug en de koorts is ook absoluut niet weg, maar poeh wat had ik zin om wat te doen... En, naast vaker stempels en materiaal dat ik al heb gebruiken, is ook dit jaar weer een voornemen om de achtergronden de ik maak ook te gebruiken.
Deze Art Journal Page lag er al een tijdje. In de zomer er met echte viooltjes de bloemen op/ingeperst. In de herfst er de vlinders op gestempeld en vandaag dus helemaal afgewerkt. Ik was benieuwd of ik de DO nog met de waterpen kon uit laten vloeien en dat lukte ook na zo'n lange tijd nog!

So, the energy is not quite back and the fever hasn't gone at all, but phoe, I wanted to make something so bad... And, next to using the stamps and materials thatt I have ofter, this year another resulution is again to use the backgrounds that I make.
This Art Journal Page was sitting on my desk for a whle. Last summer I prest the real flowers in/on the paper. In the fall I stamped the butterflies and today I finally finished it. I was so curious if I could the DO still let flow with a waterpen and, even after such a long time. I could!

Wat een heerlijk zonnig weer hier vandaag! Dus eerst maar lekker naar buiten gegaan... Pas later begonnen aan mijn 1e CaS-kaart van dit weekend; een kaart in opdracht van mijn dochter! Dat is voor het eerst...maar wel heel leuk, want het moest een natuur-kaart worden voor een verjaardag. En laat er nou net een landschap gevraagd worden bij de Liftchallenge...
De 2e is o.a. voor de uitdaging bij LIM en had ik al de hele week in mijn hoofd, net als de 3e kaart, maar geen tijd om ze ook op papier te zetten....dus deze ook vandaag eindelijk gemaakt:

What a great sunny day here today! So I went out first... And so t was late before I started my first CAS-card for the weekend; a card in commission for my daughter! That's the first time...and fun to do, because she asked for a nature card for a birthday. And they ask for a landscape at the Liftchallenge...

Gelukkig heeft het ondertussen ook een beetje geregend, maar verder; nog steeds zo warm in m'n hobbykamer... Dus heeft het even geduurd voor ik weer een reeks af had voor de Zomer Challenge...
