Heb nooit spijt / Never regret

Ook deze beetje grungy bloemenstempel is er een die al langer in mijn doos met nog niet gebruikte stempels stond. Met de bloemen wilde ik een nat-in-nat aquareltechniel doen, maar ik miste nog wat en dus heb ik er de jonge dame die ik eerder hier al gebruikte nog en keer voor gebruikt. De achtergrond is simpelweg gesponst.

This a bit grungy flowerstamp is one that was sitting in my not-used-jet (Nimbus) stampbox. With the flowers I wanted to use a wet-in-wet aquareltechnique, but I thought it lacked something, so I used the young lady that I had used here before again on this ine. The background is simplyn sponged.

Zeepaardje / Seahorse

Nog een stempel die ik al een tijdje in mijn doos met stempels die nog geen inkt hebben gezien had staan. En echt een die ik met de zomer verbind. Dus nu het lekker weer seizoen er weer is moest ook deze eens gebruikt worden... Op aquarelpapier heerlijk rustig gekleurd en de zijkanten met een aantal verfstiften bewerkt.

Another stamp that was standing in my box with stamps that hadn't seen inkt jet.  And one that says 'summer' to me. So now the season with the watm weather is here again it had to be used... I colored on aquarelpaper and the two sides are made with a few paintbrushes.

Verlangend uitkijken naar jou / longing to see you

Nu onze dochter voor haar studie een half jaar in Wales zit, is haar poes bij ons.

En zo zit die vaak uit het raam te staren... Al is het uitzicht bij ons heel anders...

Gaaf dus dat ik deze stempel vond en 'm nu op een kaart naar Wales kan sturen om namens de Poes groetjes te doen... (Mijn man heeft 'm dit weekend mee naar haar toe genomen, want hij is met trein+vliegtuig+trein gisteren naar haar toe gereisd)

Now our daughter is in Wales for half a year for her studies, her cat is with us.

And like this she often is starring through the window... But the vieuw from our place is totally different...

Perfect that I found this stamp and can now use it on a card to Wales to give some cat-greetings from her cat... (my husband has taken it with him this weekend, because he travelled yesterday to her by train, plane and train)

Schaatsen / Ice skating

Het is hier een tijdje grijs en nat geweest nadat we 10 witte en winterse dagen hebben gehad en nu vriest het 's nachts en schijnt de zon lekker overdag. De zon maakt dat ik meer energie heb en dat komt alles en iedereen ten goede! En we hebben eindelijk voor de 1e keer kunnen afspreken voor een stempel donderdagmiddag (nu een keer op vrijdag) om weer wat te maken; heerlijk! 

Dat werd ook tijd, want m'n 'mojo' was ver te zoeken en ik maakte geen tijd om ervoor te haan zitten en iets te maken...

Ik heb weer andere dingen gemaakt als in de posts hiervoor; ik hou van afwisseling...

Deze maand had ik nog niets gemaakt voor de uitdaging bij Lavinia, dus daar ben ik als eerste mee verder gegaan. Heerlijk hoe je je kan laten wegvoeren in een andere, magische wereld... En dit keer is het een koude wereld...

It has been a bit gray and wet here after we had 10 wihte and winter days and now we have freezing nights and great sunny days, That sun makes that I have more energy and that is good for anything! And finally we had a stamping Thursday afternoon (on a friday) to make something again; lovely! 

That was due, because my 'mojo' had left ne and I didn't make time to sit diwn and create something...

And I made something else as the ones in the posts before this one; I love doing different things...

I didn't made anything for this months challenge at Lacinia jet, so that is what I tackled first, Lovely to how you can get carried away on another, magical world... And this time it is a cold world...

En dan denk je die muizen, die zouden het ook leuk moeten doen op een zwarte ondergrond. En dat doen ze ook! Alleen moet je niet zo'n dikke witte cirkel-lijn trekken als ik hierbij heb gedaan...

And then you think; those mice would be looking good on a black background tpp. And they do! The only thing you must not do is drawing a bold white circle line like I did here...

Spelen met licht / Playing with light

Het duurt altijd even voor een nieuwe release van Lavinia ook hier in de winkel te koop is. Dus kijk ik ernaar uit daar mee te kunnen werken. Maar in de tijd tot ze binnen zijn heb ik er ook nog liggen van eerdere releases en die ik tussendoor heb gekocht en nog niet heb gebruikt, plus al die leuke die ik al had... Dus combineer ik die tot iets wat ik in mijn hoofd als idee had. 

Bij deze de muisjes met de lampjes heb ik de pompoen gebruikt die nog geen inkt hadden gezien. Samen met heel wat anderen die ik al had werd het dit:

It takes time before a new release from Lavnia is also sold here in the shops. So I am looking forward to work with them. But in the meantime, I also lave some stamps from previous releases and wich I bought in between and haven't used yet, plus some fun ones I already had... So I'm combining those into something I had in my mind. 

With those mices with the bulps I used the pumpkin that hadn't seen ink. Together with a lot others that I already had it looks like this:

Herfst hortensia's / Autumn hydrangeas

In onze tuin staan heel veel verschillende soorten hortensia's met verschillende bloeiwijzen en kleuren en de bloemen en bladeren verkleuren allemaal weer anders. En ik geniet daar eigenlijk net zo van als van de bloemen en bladeren met hun frisse kleuren in het voorjaar en de zomer... Maar, als ze afgebeeld worden zie je meestal die frisse kleuren en niet de mooie herfst kleuren die ik nu bij ons in de tuin zie. Dus was ik blij dat ik dit stencil nog niet gebruikt had! En ik wilde wat anders dan anders proberen; ik heb met een kwast en water de inkt door het stencil aangebracht op aquarelpapier. Het loopt af en toe iets uit, maar dat vind ik niet erg hierbij. Na het drogen heb ik m'n kleurpotloden gebruikt om meer nuances aan te geven en nog meer diepte te krijgen. 

In our garden are a lot different kinds of hydrangeas with all kinds of different ways of blooming and colors, and the flowers and leaves all change color differently. And I actually enjoy that just as much as the flowers and leaves with their fresh colors in Spring and Summer... But when they're depicted, you usually see those fresh colors and not the beautiful Autumn colors I see in our garden now. So I was glad I hadn't used this stencil jet! This time I wanted to try something different; I used a brush and water to apply the ink through the stencil into watercolor paper. It did bleed a little bit, but I don't mind. After it dried, I used my coloring pencils to add more nuance and some depth.

Een magische plek / A magical place

Natuurlijk wil ik ook deze maand weer meedoen met de uitdaging bij Lavinia! Zeker nadat ik bij Webshop Margot een waardebon voor 25 euro won op FB en daar Designer voor de maand Juni 2025 ben! Die waardebon kwam goed van pas met de nieuwe release van Lavinia die ze daar verkopen en dus heb ik wat van de nieuwe stempels (en wat oudere) gekocht. Hieronder zie je ook een combinatie van nieuwe en oudere stempels van dat merk:

Vazen in de tuin / Vases in the garden

Als je dan met een stel vazen-stencils en bloemenstempels aan de gang bent gegaan is het niet vreemd (tenminste dat gebeurt mij vaak) dat je nog meer ideeën om met die dingen te maken krijgt. En een van die ideeën heb ik dan ook nog op papier gezet.

Dus weer met de vazenstencils en wat bloemenstempels en meer aan de gang gegaan en dit kwam daar uit: 

When you make things with the vases-stencils and flower stamps it isn't so strange (at least that happens often to me) that you get more ideas to make with those things. So I put one of those ideas on paper.

In het gras / In the grass

En toen was er nog een stempel uit de set van de lezende meisjes die ik graag wou gebruiken... Na het stempelen heb ik deze gemaskerd en de grassen gestempeld die ik hier en hier al eerder anders gebruikte. Nog een stukje DP uit mijn voorraad gezocht en dat was alles wat ze nodig had...

And than there was hust one stamp from the set with the reading girls that I wanted to use... After stamping this one I put a mask on it, stamped the grasses that UI used before here and here in a different way, Looked for a piece of DP in my stash and that was all she needed...

Soms duik je in je achtergronddoos om een achtergrond te vinden voor een stempel en ontdek je in die doos nog zoveel meer mooie stukken papier die je wilt gebruiken... Dat is wat mij hier overkwam... 

En wat is dan makkelijker dan gelijk in je Art Journal te werken. En ik vond laatst nog een vel met Rub-ons die er qua kleur bijpaste, dus die ging er ook op. 

Achteraf gezien vind ik 'm te veel glinsteren, maar ja toen zat die er natuurlijk al op... Dan maar naar een 'overkill' en er nog een heleboel gemstones opgeplakt.

Sometimes you go through all in your background box to find a background for a stamp and you discover so many more beautiful pieces of paper that you want to use... That is what happened to me here...

And what is than easier as working directly in your Art Journal. And a few days ago I found a piece with Rub-ons that fits the colors, so that went on this page too.

In retrospect I think it shines too much, but he by that time it was already on there... All I could do was go over to an 'overkill' and so I glued a lot of gemstones on it too.

Ik zag dit stencil met de boom en tja; ik was verkocht... Het doet me denken aan een omgeving waar het iets warmer is dan hier of aan een iets grotere bonsai boom of aan een sprookje...

Afgelopen donderdag leende ik een stempel van Josje en zette ik er dit lezende meisje onder. Lijkt me een heerlijk plekje om weg te dromen in een boek...

I saw this tree stencil and tja; I was sold... It reminds me of a pleace where it is warmer than here or of a big bonsai tree or of a faitytale.

Last Thursday I borrowed a stamp from Josje and I put this reading girl under it. Looks like a lovely place to dream away into a book...

Moe worden van / Get tired off

Tja en dan ben je bezig met twee stempels uit een set en bladert wat tussen je achtergronden uit je achtergrondendoos en vind er een die je wil gebruiken. Na nog wat kijken tussen je teksten op vellum, vind een mooie en kom je op het idee om ook nog deze decoratieve splitpennen te gebruiken die al zolang in mijn kleine hobbykamer liggen... 

Ik ben blij met het resultaat en blij met het feit dat ik zoveel heb gebruikt dat ik al langer had liggen...

Tja... and than you use two stamps from a set and want to use one more, you look in your background box and find a background that might work, look in your folder with vellum quotes and find a nice one and than decide to use these cotter pins that are in my stash for such a long time... 

I am happy with the result and happy that I used so many things wich I had for a long time...

Groei / Grow

Zo... Pasen voorbij, dus nu weer andere dingen om te maken! Als eerste nog een keer dit boomstencil gebruikt. Ik kan wel zeggen dat die op het moment mijn favoriete stencil is... Dit keer helemaal in voorjaars gevoel en weer eens mijn kleurpotloden gebruikt om te kleuren.

So... Eastern gone, so again other things to make! First I used this tree stencil again. I can say that at the minute this is my favorite stencil... This time I went for a spring feeling and used my color pencils again after neglecting theme a while.

CaS in het weekend 467 / CAS in the weekend 467

Alweer 2 vrijdagen terug (wat gaat de tijd snel!) heb ik ook deze stempel- en stencilset gekocht op weg naar Zeeland. Deze had ik al heel lang op mijn verlanglijstje staan sinds ik die ergens op een Amerikaanse website had gezien. En eindelijk is deze in Nederland te koop... Omdat een haas bij Pasen past moest deze set natuurlijk nu worden gebruikt en er iets mee gemaakt worden.

En wat is er leuker om heel wat anders te maken als de meesten met deze set doen... Dus ben ik voor een CaS project gegaan:

It is already 2 Fridays ago (time is flying so quickly) that I bought this stamp- and stencil set too on our way to Zeeland. This is one that was on my wishlist since I saw it on an American website. And now I can finally buy it in the Netherlands... While a hare fits the Easter periode this set had to be used now and I had to make something with it.

And what is more fun than making something different as most make with this set... So I went for a CAS project:

Magisch bos spread 1 / Magic wood spread 1

Nadat ik twee weken geleden op donderdagmiddag toch met Lavinia stempels aan de slag was gegaan, ben ik er in deze donderdag nog mee doorgegaan op dit project. Helaas geen stempelmiddag met inspiratie van elkaar vorige week, maar ik heb toch wat stempeltijd genomen voor mij. Ik heb weer wat nieuwe en oudere stempels gecombineerd (waarvan weer sommige oud en andere nieuw voor mij). 

Het formaat waarop ik hier werk is al groot, maar ik heb mezelf ook nog eens de uitdaging gegeven om niet een, maar twee Art Journal Pages als een spread te maken. Vandaag de eerste Art Journal Page. Het was vooral heel veel stempelen met natuurlijk maskeren. Precies zoals je een Page in mijn optiek moet maken; eerst stempelen en dan pas kleur toevoegen...

Eerlijk gezegd heb ik getwijfeld of ik deze Pages wel moest kleuren; ik vond ze alleen gestempeld al zo mooi... (zie de laatste foto). Wat vind jij? Zou jij ook hebben getwijfeld? Ik liet ze een daarom twee dagen op m'n tafel liggen voor ik er verder mee ben gegaan. En ook toen had ik nog mijn twijfels, maar bedacht me dat ik ze nog een keer kon stempelen...

De 1e Art Journal Page van de Spread is deze geworden: 

After I used Lavinia stamps last Thursday afternoon, I went on with them Yesterday on this project. Helas no stamping afternoon last week, but I took some stamping-time for me. I combined again some new and some older (some to me old and some to me new) stamps. 

The size wich I am working on is big, but I challenged myself too to make not one, but make two Art Journal Pages as a spread. Today the first Art Journal Page. It was mainly a lot of stamping with some masking of course. Exactly how you should make a Page in my opinion; first stamp and then add color...

To be honest, I debated whether I shoild even color these Pages; I thought they were so beautiful just stamped... (see the last photo). What do you think? Would you have dounted too? That is why I left them on my table for two days before I continued with them. And even when I was doing that i was in doubt, but I thought I can always stamp them again...

Winter / Winter

En dan was het alweer Dinsdag. Oh ja, geen normale dinsdag; het is de laatste dag van 2024. En het weekend en nog wat dagen zijn alweer voorbij... Vrijdag genoten van een droge dag waarop zowaar de zon een aantal uur te zien was... Gaaf en goed voor mijn energie! Daarna een rommelig weekend en paar rommelige dagen; komt vast doordat kerst midden in de week viel. En het was ook een fris en weer grijs weekend.

Buiten is er weer een nieuwe oorlog uitgebroken. Tenminste, zo klinkt het wel... Waarom in toch? Je wilt toch niet in een oorlog zitten? En gewond raken omdat je zo'n 'plezier' hebt? Je wilt het jaar toch goed afsluiten met fijne gedachten en in die sfeer naar het nieuwe jaar gaan? En dan de stank, de bange huisdieren die niet naar buiten kunnen en die binnen zitten te bibberen... En dan de rest van het jaar de troep die je in de tuin vind... Wat een lucht- en milieuvervuiling! Nee geef mij maar een fijne afsluiting van het jaar en een rustig glijden in het nieuwe jaar met veel optimisme om er een gaaf jaar van te maken!

Ik heb pas gisteren iets gemaakt, omdat er nog veel meer leuke (en een paar minder leuke) dingen te doen waren. 

Weer een winters tafereel, begonnen met het hert en deze gemaskerd en de achtergrond gestempeld. Daarna alles met wat kleur, water en een kwast bewerkt.

Ik hoop dat je oudjaarsavond/nieuwjaarsnacht zonder ongelukken en ziekenhuis bezoek hebt doorstaan! Dus voor ik het vergeet:

Ik wens je een groots en mooi 2025!

Vandaag brengen we met vrienden en hun kinderen en aanhang door met spelletjes spelen en kletsen. Een heerlijk begin van een nieuw jaar...

And then it was Tuesday again. Oh jeh, no normal Tuesday; it is the last day of 2024. And the weekend and a few more days have gone by. Friday I enjoyed the dry day with even a few hours of sunshine... Fun and good for my energy level!  After that we had a messy weekend and few days; probably because Christmas was in the middle of the week. And it was a cold and gray weekend again. 

Outside it sounds like there has started a new war. That is how it sounds... Why? You don't want to be in a war? And getting wounded because you want to have 'fun'. You want to end the year with nice thoughts and take that feeling into the new year? And the bad smell, the pets that can't get outside and are sitting in the house shivering... And than the rest of the year the mess you fing in your garden... What an air and environmental pollution! No just give me a nice end of the year and a peaceful slide into the new year with lots of optimism to make it a great year!

I only made something yesterday, because there were many more fun (and a few less fun) things to do.

Again a winter scene, I started with the deer, masked it and stamped the background. After that I worked with some color, water and a brush:
