Nog een keer de twee meisjes uit de nieuwe serie stempels van Andy Skinner. Zouden het zusjes of vriendinnen zijn? Bij deze stempel is het water al toegevoegd en dat gaf me het idee om deze grote cirkel stempel te gebruiken. Deze lijkt wel een grote golf en dus vond ik 'm er wel bij passen... Ook hier heb ik het kleurenpalet klein gehouden. Voorlopig is dit de laatste met deze stempels; het waren heel wat projecten, maar ik vind deze stempels dan ook heel mooi...

Again the two girls from the new serie from Andy Skinner. Are they sisters or friends? On this stamp there was already water added and that gave me the inspiration to use this big circle stamp. It looks almost like a big wave and so I thought it would fit nicely... And again I kept the color palette small on here. For now this is the last one with these stamps; this were a bunch of projects, but I think these stamps are really beautiful...

Springend meisje op een 1e print / Jumping girl on a first print

Nog maar een keer het meisje met het springtouw gebruikt, want ik vind deze stempel zo leuk! En het leek me wat om haar in een herfstsfeer te plaatsen. Op deze 1e print na het schoonmaken van een stencil op aquarelpapier van het stencil dat ik gebruikte op dit project heb ik na het erop afdrukken van het stencil heb ik de tanden met een papiertje wat uitgeveegd. (een 2e print hiervan heb ik hier gebruikt) Ook hierop heb ik het kleurenpalet weer klein gehouden.

Because I think this one stamp is so beautiful I used the girl with the jump rope stamp again. And I thought it would be fun to place her in in a fall background. On this first print from cleaning a stencil I used on this project on aquarel paper I smudged the edges a bit with a piece of paper after printing the stencil on to it. (I used the 2nd print here) I kept the color palette small here as well.

Ook deze stempel is uit de serie nieuwe stempels die ik vorige week binnen kreeg en waar ik meteen op de stempel donderdagmiddag mee aan de gang gegaan ben. De cirkels op de achtergrond zijn weer uit mijn mand met rubberen achtergrondstempels, Het is heerlijk deze weer te gebruiken.

This again is one of the new stamps that came by post to me last week and wich I used straight away on the stamping Thursday afternoon. 

The circles on the background are again taken from my basket with rubber background stamps. It is so much fun to use these again.

De tweede van de nieuwe serie Andy Skinner stempels is voor my deze. Deze doet me een beetje denken aan mijn zus die veel te ver weg woont... Bij mijn achtergronden vond ik deze handen en die vond ik wel toepasselijk.

The second one from the new serie stamps from Andy Skinner for me is this one. This one does make me think of my sister who lives too far away... With my background papers I found these hands and thought they would fit perfectly...

Was ik de vorige keer op donderdag al begonnen met het gebruiken van de (vouwblaadjes-) cirkels die ik al zolang in mijn hobbykamer heb liggen, deze keer nam ik ze mee naar Josje en sponsde door een soort Mid Century Modern stencil allerlei vormen op een gele. Ook de uit restjes gestanste katten kregen gesponsde vormen door weer een ander Mid Century Modern stencil te gebruiken. Dat alles moest op de 'print' die ik als vierde trok bij het schoonmaken van het stencil dat ik hier gebruikte. (de 1e 'print' vind je hier en 2e vind je hier, de derde hier). Eenmaal thuis heb ik er nog een tekst bij gezocht en dat was het...

On one of the last Thursday afternoons I started using the folding circles that I had in my stash for so long and I took them with me to Josje and used a yellow one here. I sponged through a Mid Century Modern stencil all kinds of shapes on that one. Even the already earlier from snippits cuted cats had to get this shapes sponged through jet another Mid Century Modern stencil. And all of that had to go on the 'print' that I made by cleaning a stencil I used here. (The first 'print' you can find here, the second one you can find here and the third here). At home I searched for a sentiment and that was it...

Ik zag dat er iemand op de oude FB-page van De Scrapheap een Zomer Challenge gaat doen, maar na 10 (!) Zomer Challenges gedaan te hebben heb ik besloten daar niet aan mee te doen. Dus ook voor mij dit jaar een keer een rustigere Zomer wat het maken van dingen betreft!

I saw that someone will run a Summer Challenge on the old FB Page of the Scrapheap, but after having done Summer Challenges 10 times (!), I decided not to particiapate.. So for me this year too it will be a bit quieter Summer in terms of making things!

Winter 12 Sneeuw in het bos / Winter 12 Snow in the wood

Nadat ik een hele tijd geleden al eens eerder met dit hertje in mijn zwarte Art Journal had gewerkt hier, was ik er nog niet klaar mee. De laatste tijd ben ik weer helemaal weg van bomen. En dan niet alleen maar bomenstempels, maar ook bomen stanzen (en bomen stencils). Dus wilde ik graag een spread met bomen stempels en stanzen maken. Ik ben blij met het resultaat, voor het eerst sinds lang vind ik de combinatie van stempels en stanzen mooi bij elkaar 'blenden'...

After using the stamp of this deer a while ago in my black Art Journal here, I just had to use it again. Last weeks I just love trees/ And not only tree stamps, but also tree die-cuts (and tree stencils). So I wanted to make a spread with tree stamps and tree die-cuts. I am happy with the result; for the first time in a long time I think the combination of stamps and die-cuts 'blend' beautifully together...

CaS in het weekend 457 Kraai 5 / CAS in the weekend 457 Crow 5

Voor deze CaS in het weekend heb ik de een na laatste kraai gebruikt die ik een aantal donderdagmiddagen geleden al had gestempeld. Ik wist dat ik 'm in een landschap wou plaatsen, dus toen ik de kraaien stempelset zelf ook had, heb ik er een masker van gemaakt en ben ik tussen al mijn stempels van Card-io gaan zoeken. Die hebben zulke mooie elementen/stempels om een landschap mee op te bouwen...  Nog wat lucht en grond en de kraai 'gegrond' en dat was het; 'Clean and Simple', dus niets meer aan toe voegen...

For this CAS in the weekend I used the almost last crow that I had stamped a few Thursday afternoons ago. I knew I wanted to place it in a landscape, so when I got the crow stamp set myself I made a mask and went trough all my Card-io stamps. They have such great elements/stamps to build a landscape... Addede some sky and grounds and 'grounded' the crow and that was it; Clean And Simple, so don't put anything else on it....

Vier het leven / Celebrate life

Het zijn zo langzaamaan echt de donkere dagen van het jaar; we hebben deze week op een dag een paar uur zon gehad en dat was alles. Ik vond het bijna raar die zon i.p.v. grauw en zo vochtig dat er druppels in de lucht hingen waar je net niet nat van werd, maar die er op de tegels wel als miezerregen uitzag...

En na vandaag gaat het 's nachts ook kouder worden, dus we gaan wat bloempotten in de tui inpakken voor de winter...

Maar eerst naar mijn project voor vandaag; geen heel gebruikelijk project van mij, maar ik vond dat we wel wat feest en glitter konden gebruiken... Eentje waarop ik lekker van alles gecombineerd heb: stempelen, inkleuren, stanzen en washitape:

These are slowly becoming the dark days of the year; we had a few hours sunshine this week and that was all. I almost thought it was strange that it was sunny instead of gray and so humid that there were droplets in the air that didn't make you wet, but looked like drizzle on the tiles... \And after today it will get colder at night, so we are going to wrap the flowerpots in the garden for winter...

But first my project for today; not a very usual project of mine, but I thought we could use some party and glitter... One on wich I combined several things; stamping, colouring, die cutting and washitape:

En natuurlijk heerlijk met een stencil aan de gang gegaan na het maskeren.

Zo kom ik helemaal tot rust tijdens een stempeldonderdagmiddag...

Lieve kleine snoetjes / Sweet little faces

Blij dat we afgelopen week weer een stempelmiddag konden afspreken! En het was echt stempelweer; kil, grijs en vochtig. Misschien dat ik daarom zonnige/vrolijke kleuren wou gebruiken? In ieder geval zeker op deze!

En het is nog steeds grijs, kil en vochtig, dus, als de rest in huis aan kant is blijft er vast nog wel tijd over om te stempelen en meer...

So glad that we could plan a stamping afternoon last week! And it was real stamp weather; chilly, gray and moist. Maybe that is why I wanted to use sunny/bright colours? For sure on this one!

And it is still chilly, gray and moist, so, after the work in the house is done, there will be some time left to stamp and more...

Zomer Challenge dag 29+30+31 / Summer Challenge day 29+30+31

En dan zijn we alweer toe aan de laatste 3 dagen van de Zomer Challenge voor deze maand. We zitten precies op de helft, dus nog 31 dagen te gaan...

Voor de teenslippers had ik 2 ideeën; een stempel van Carabella en een paar uitgestanste teenslippers die klaarlagen om te gebruiken. Ik heb er een paar uur over gedaan om wat af te koelen en er over te denken, maar gezien het warme weer ben ik voor de al uitgestanste teenslippers gegaan... Samen met wat andere stansjes zorgen die voor een tropische dag aan het strand.

Voor de salade een pokebowl gevonden op een scrappapier en daar een kaart mee gemaakt.

En voor de laatste dag van deze maand gebruikte ik dan toch die Carabella stempel en tekende met een liniaal en zwarte stift de tegels van de zwembadrand. De rest vulde ik in door te sponzen en inkleuren met een kwast en water.

And then we are already at the last three days of the Summer Challenge for this month, We are exactly halfway, so still 31 days to go... 

I had two ideas for the flipflops; a Carabella stamp and a pair of already die-cut ones that I have in a box ready -to-use. It took me a few hours to cool down and think about it, but given the hot weather I opted for the already die-cut flipflops... Together with some other die-guts they shape a tropical day at the beach.

I found a poke bowl image for the salad om some scrappaper and made a card with it.

And for the last day of the month I used a Carabella stamp from the set with the flipflops, draw with a ruler and a black pencil the tiles from the swinmming pool. The rest is done by sponging and colouring with a brush and water.

Van alles gedaan; lekker uit eten met dochter en vriend en mijn ouders in een (nieuw-voor-ons) restaurant, natuurlijk de laatste F1 race voor de zomerstop daar gekeken, veel Olympische spelen gekeken en veel buiten geweest; kortom genoten! En energie opgedaan om de voorspelde te warme week door te komen... En wat een hete week is het weer... Dat was toch niet waarom ik in Nederland ben blijven wonen... Maar we doen het er maar mee. Het is alleen jammer dat ik moet oppassen dat er geen zweetdruppel op m'n project valt :)

En natuurlijk heb ik ook genoten van het maken van weer drie dagen voor de Zomer Challenge! Twee in de hitte gemaakt. Een kleur is altijd leuk, dus gewoon een stempel erbij gezocht die ik graag wilde gebruiken... Maar bij de prompt 'vakantiehuisje' heb ik niet echt een idee, dus ben ik een hele tijd door mijn stempels gegaan. Uiteindelijk heb ik een mooie stempel van een molen gevonden; dat lijkt me nog eens een leuk vakantiehuisje! En een stempel van een aardbei; tjee wat heb ik daar naar gezocht. Geen tussen mijn stempels gevonden, tot de gezellige stempeldonderdagmiddag en Josje met een mooie op de proppen kwam (die ik dus ook thuis heb liggen...). Deze dus gebruikt en weer heel wat washitape en meer uit m'n voorraad...

Finally a post from me. I hope you aren't tired my fays of the Summer Challenge?

What a wonderful weekend! We id a lot; had a nice dinner with our daughter and her friend and my parents in a (new-to-us) restaurant, of course we saw the last F1 race before there Summer stop, saw a lot of the Olympic sports, spent a lot of time outside; in short, enjoyed it! And gained some energy to get through the predicted hot week... oh well, let's see if that prediction really comes true... And what a hot week we had weather wise it is again... That was not the reason why I stayed in the Netherlands... But we'll make do with it. It is just a shame that I have to be careful not to let a drop of sweat fall on my project :)

And of course I enjoyed making another three days for the Summer Challenge! A colour is always fun, so I just looked for a stamp that I wanted to use... But with the prompt 'holiday home' I didn't had any ideas, so I went through my stamps for a long time. Finally I found a nice stamp of a mill; that is a nice 'holiday home' I think! And a stamp of a strawberry; tjee I had to search a long time. But I couldn't found one, Untill on the fun stamp- Thursday afternoon at Josje's place where she cane up with this one (and I have it in my stash too...)! So I used this one together with some washitape and more from my stash...

Tijd is elke keer anders / Time is different each moment...

Heerlijk is dat; ben ik aan het bladeren in mijn achtergrondendoos en zie ik daar een papier met daarop deze collage stempel. Die paste precies bij mijn gedachte dat de tijd veel te snel ging die donderdagmiddag... Dus heb ik deze ingekleurd en voorzien van een hoek door een al oudere 'golf'-stempel twee keer af te drukken. Een kleine herinnering aan hoe veel te snel de tijd gaat als je leuke dingen doet....

Lovely; I was going through my background box and saw a paper with already stamped on this collage stamp. That fitted my thoughts; thinking that time went on too quickly this Thursday afternoon... So I coloured it and stamped a corner with an old 'wave'-stamp by stamping it twice. A small reminder on how quick time goes when you are having fun...

Pauw op een tak / Peacock on a branch

In mijn achtergronden doos vond ik een stuk papier met daarop inkt door een pauwenveer stencil gespoten. Mooie kleuren, maar niet het hele stuk had herkenbare pauwenveren. Dus heb ik het in 2-en gesneden om te gebruiken met een uitgestanste pauw die ik met inkt gekleurd heb. Ik stempelde nog wat takken en kleurde die met een paars potlood, plakte de pauw en de tekst erop en zocht thuis nog wat letters in bijpassende kleuren voor het 2e woord. Zo heb je een mooi startpunt om iets te gaan maken en ontstaat de kaart/Art Journal page terwijl je bezig bent...

En het andere stuk van het papier? Ik heb nog geen idee wat ik ermee ga maken, dus dat zie je een andere keer...

In my box with backgrounds I found a piece of paper with some ink on it sprayed through a peacock stencil. Beautiful colours, but not the whole piece had peacock feathers on it. So I cut the piece in half to use with the die-cut peacock and that I coloured with ink. I stamped some branches and coloured them with a purple pencil, glued the peacock and the text on it. Back home I looked for some letters in fitting colours for the 2nd word. This way you have a great starting point to make something and the card/ Art Journal page will grow  while you are at it...

And the other piece of the paper? I have no idea what I am going to make with it, so you will see about that another time...

Dromen van de Zomer / Dreaming of Summer

Nadat ik hier al eerder een van mijn landschapsstempels had gebruikt, kon ik het niet laten de andere landschapsstempel die ik nog niet had gebruikt ook te gebruiken. Dit keer op een kaart die in een van mijn Art Journals gaat. Ik krijg het gelijk warmer als ik hiernaar kijk... jij ook? Langzaam gaan we naar de zomer en dat zomerse gevoel...

After using one of the landscape stamps here earlier, I just had to use the other landscape stamp that hadn't seen any ink jet. This time on a card that I will put in one of my Art Journals. Slowly we go forwards to Summer and this Summerly feeling...
