Springend meisje op een 1e print / Jumping girl on a first print

Nog maar een keer het meisje met het springtouw gebruikt, want ik vind deze stempel zo leuk! En het leek me wat om haar in een herfstsfeer te plaatsen. Op deze 1e print na het schoonmaken van een stencil op aquarelpapier van het stencil dat ik gebruikte op dit project heb ik na het erop afdrukken van het stencil heb ik de tanden met een papiertje wat uitgeveegd. (een 2e print hiervan heb ik hier gebruikt) Ook hierop heb ik het kleurenpalet weer klein gehouden.

Because I think this one stamp is so beautiful I used the girl with the jump rope stamp again. And I thought it would be fun to place her in in a fall background. On this first print from cleaning a stencil I used on this project on aquarel paper I smudged the edges a bit with a piece of paper after printing the stencil on to it. (I used the 2nd print here) I kept the color palette small here as well.

Ook deze stempel is uit de serie nieuwe stempels die ik vorige week binnen kreeg en waar ik meteen op de stempel donderdagmiddag mee aan de gang gegaan ben. De cirkels op de achtergrond zijn weer uit mijn mand met rubberen achtergrondstempels, Het is heerlijk deze weer te gebruiken.

This again is one of the new stamps that came by post to me last week and wich I used straight away on the stamping Thursday afternoon. 

The circles on the background are again taken from my basket with rubber background stamps. It is so much fun to use these again.

De tweede van de nieuwe serie Andy Skinner stempels is voor my deze. Deze doet me een beetje denken aan mijn zus die veel te ver weg woont... Bij mijn achtergronden vond ik deze handen en die vond ik wel toepasselijk.

The second one from the new serie stamps from Andy Skinner for me is this one. This one does make me think of my sister who lives too far away... With my background papers I found these hands and thought they would fit perfectly...

Spelen met de kitten / playing with the kitten

Het leek lang te duren voor de nieuwe stempels van Andy Skinner hier op de deurmat vielen, maar dat viel wel mee; na de release duurde het maar 11 dagen voor ik ze in huis had... Maar, als je iets heel leuk vind wil je er gewoon meteen mee aan de slag... En daar had ik op dat moment geen tijd voor, dus op de afgelopen stempel donderdagmiddag was ik er helemaal klaar voor en ben met ze aan de gang gegaan.

Deze vind ik de mooiste van de serie en dus ben ik daar mee begonnen. Ik heb mijn mand met rubberen achtergrond stempels doorgespit en er een paar uitgehaald om erbij te gebruiken. Ik ben nog steeds helemaal weg van die achtergrond stempels en heb ze nu alweer een hele tijd niet gebruikt, dus dat werd tijd!

Bij deze heb ik mezelf uitgedaagd om het kleurenpalet klein te houden.

Er zullen dus nog heel wat projecten met deze stempelserie volgen...

It seems to take a long time for the new stamps from Andy Skinner fell on the doormat here, but it wasn't; in the end it only take 11 days after the release before I had them in the house... But, when you find something so much fun, you just want to stamp with them immediately... And I didn't had the time for at that moment, so last stamping Thursday afternoon I was so ready to give them a go and started making things with them... 

This is the one I think is the most beautiful one of the serie, so I started with this one. I took my basket with rubber background stamps and took a few out to use with them. I still like those background stamps so much and haven't used them for a while, so it was time to use them!

At this project I challenged myself to keep the color palette small.

There will follow a lot more projects with this stamp serie...

Heks en katten op pad / Witch and cats strolling

Ik had eindelijk de heksenketelstempel gekocht en dus moest ik die gebruiken... Dus de juiste heks en katten en meer erbij gezocht en alles gestempeld met wat maskeren. En toen vond ik deze zo in zwart en wit zo leuk, dat ik er geen kleur meer aan toe wilde voegen. Ik ben benieuwd of jij deze ook zwart-wit gelaten zou hebben of dat je deze toch ingekleurd zou hebben...

I finally bought the witches cauldron stamp, so I had to use it... I looked for the best witch and cats and more and stamped them all with some masking. And than I liked it so much in black and white, that I decided to not add any color at all. I am curious if you would have left it like this in black and white or if you would have colored it...

Nog een zonnebloem / Another sunflower

Toen ik door mijn NBUS-stempels ging kwam ok zowaar nog een zonnebloemstempel tegen! Deze zit in een set met de stans er al bij, dus een fijne om op een van mijn achtergronden uit de achtergrondendoos te gebruiken. De kleuren op deze achtergrond sprongen eruit en dus leek het me leuk om de zonnebloem daarop te gebruiken. Nadat ik er een gestempeld en gekleurd had vond ik het erg kaal, dus maakte ik nog een tweede en sponsde nog door een stencil om de achtergrond wat interessanter te maken.

When I went through my NBUS-stamps I was surprised to find another sunflower stamp! This one is in a set with a die already in it, so it is a fun one to use on an already made background from my background box. The colors on this background really pop and so I thought it would be fun to put the sunflower on this one. Ater I stamped and colored one sunflower it was very boring, so I made another one and sponged a bit through a stencil to let the background become more interesting.

Heel langzaam gaan we naar de herfst en krijgen we ook meer natte en grijze dagen. En dan krijg ik zin in herfstkleuren en Halloween dingen... Gewoon leuk om te doen en zeker als je stempelmaatje stempels van pompoenen met maffe gezichten heeft gekocht die je kunt lenen! Natuurlijk kon ik het niet laten er een CaS-kaart mee te maken... 

Ever so slowly we slide into Fall and are getting more wet and gray days. And that is the moment I really want to use Fall colors and Halloween things... Just so much fun to do! And fur sure fun when your stamping friend bought stamps of pumpkins with weird faces that you can borrow! Of course I couldn't stop myself and had to make a CAS card with them...

Soms zie je een stencil dat je zelf niet gauw zou kopen, maar dat tussen de spullen van je stempelmaatje zit en dan is het zo heerlijk dat je samen stempelt en elkaars spullen kunt gebruiken... Ook de tekst is van haar en ik vind het een prachtige...

Dus nadat ik het stencil had gebruikt voor dit project en het twee keer schoongemaakt had op een stuk aquarelpapier (dit is de 2e 'print'), heb ik de inkt aan de zijkant nog iets uitgeveegd, de maffe kat gesponst en de tekst gestempeld.

Sometimes you see a stencil that you wouldn't buy yourself sone, but that was in the stash of your stamping buddy and than it is so lovely that you stamp together and you can use each others stuff... The text is also one of here's and I think it is a great one... 

So after I used the stencil for this project and cleaned it twice on a piece of aquarelpaper (this is the 2nd 'print'), I swiped the ink on the side a bit, sponged the crazy cat and stamped the text.

Heksen Happy hour / Witches Happy hour

Soms lijkt alles samen te vallen... Zo ook bij dit project; ik wilde wat Halloween dingen maken, een nieuw stencil gebruiken samen met een stencil dat ik van Josje op deze stempel donderdagmiddag mocht lenen. Ik zag de kleuren en de tekst meteen voor me toen ik deze stencils naast elkaar legde...

Sometimes it all comes together... So it was with this project; I wanted to make some Halloween things, use a new stencil together with a stencil that I could borrow from Josje in this stamping Thursday afternoon. I saw the colors and the text immediately in my head when I laid these two stencils next to each other...

Bloemen / Flowers

Op de een na laatste (deze keer op een vrijdag) stempelmiddag was ik heel productief en heb ik veel achtergronden uit mijn achtergrondendoos gebruikt. Dit was een van die achtergronden. Nadat ik deze gemaakt had wou ik er niet te veel op doen, maar wat wist ik niet. Op deze middag zag ik dat Josje een stencil van grappige dames meegenomen had en een van hen vond ik helemaal passen bij al de gebogen lijnen in de achtergrond. Dus simpelweg een kleur inkt gezocht die er goed bij past en gesponst...

On the (this time on a Friday) stamping afternoon two weeks ago, I was so productive and used a lot of backgrounds from my background box. This was one of them. After Imade it I didn't want to put much on it, but what? I didn't know. On this afternoon I saw that Josje had brought a stencil with funny ladies on it and one of them just seems to fit so well with all the curved lines in the background. So I looked for a matching color and sponged her...

Ik ben nog niet klaar met de zonnebloemen geloof ik... Voor mij horen die bij de overgang naar de herfst en bij de nazomer waar we op het moment hier nog in zitten. Toen er ergens een aanbieding op Lavinia stempels was en ze de zonnebloemstempels die ik nog niet op voorraaf hadden, heb ik die (en nog een paaranderen) besteld. Afgelopen donderdagmiddag op onze stempelmiddag ben ik daar lekker mee aan de slag gegaan. Als eerste maakte ik deze kaart in CaS-stijl.

I think I am not finished with the sunflowers yet... For me they represent the transition to autumn and the late summer days that we are currently experiencing here. When there was a special offer on Lavinia stamps somewhere and they had the other sunflower stamps that I didn't had in stock. So I ordered thosee (and a few others). This week on the Thursday stamping afternoon, I got to work with them. First I made this card in CAS style.

Toen ik in mijn achtergrondendoos aan het zoeken was naar deze achtergrond, kwam ik deze tegen en had ik eindelijk een idee wat ik ermee wou doen.  Echt al heel lang geleden hebben we op een van de stempel donderdagmiddagen een Gelliplate techniek gedaan en hadden lol bij het maken, maar daarna had ik echt geen idee wat ik met sommigen van de afdrukken die we gemaakt hadden wou doen... Tegenwoordig is het zo dat als ik een idee heb bij een van de achtergronden uit mijn doos, ik deze eruit haal en zo snel mogelijk ga maken. Dus heb ik deze meteen op de laatste stempelmiddag gemaakt. Simpel, maar ik vond 'm goed passen...

When I was looking for this background, I came across this one and I finally had an idea what I wanted to make with it. Really a long time ago we did a Gelliplate technique on one of the stamping afternoons and had fun making them, but after that I had really no clue what I wanted to do with some of the prints we made... Nowadays when I have an idea what to make with one of the backgrounds from my background box, I take that one out and will make it as soon as possible. So I made this one on the last stamping afternoon. Simple, but I thought it fits...

De beste manier / The best way

Toen ik toch weer eens mijn achtergrondendoos op mijn tafel had staan vond ik dat ik er best wat meer gebruik van kon maken. Dus nog een keer daarin gezocht voor een achtergrond voor deze mooie ballerina's die ik met een stans van Josje uitstanste. En ik had voor deze vrijdag stempelmiddag een van mijn bakken met achtergrondstempels naar beneden gehaald om weer eens wat daarvan te gebruiken. Nou dat vond ik niet moeilijk op deze achtergrond met alleen een blauwe vlek... Nog wat lijnen getekend voor wat diepte en beweging en een tekst erbij gezocht. Voor mij is dat heerlijk spelen zo...

When I had my background box on the table again I thought I could use some more backgrounds. So I went through it again on the look for a fun background for these beautiful ballerina's that I made with a die I borrowed from Josje. And I had took down to us on this stamping Friday afternoon one of my boxes with background stamps so I could use them again. Well. that wasn't hard on this background with just a blue splatter... I draw some lines for depth and movement and found a text to go with it. For me this is ultimate playing...

En dan is het alweer September... zomervakanties voorbij, 's avonds niet meer zo lang warm, dus zitten we eerder binnen en we schuiven weer in een wat meer normale routine... Nu nog de gewone tijd zo snel mogelijk op de klok en het leven is weer om van te genieten! 

Jaja, ik weet wel dat er om wat voor rare reden ook nog steeds aan een zomertijd word vastgehouden en dan vooral een zomer tijd die op een veel te laat tijdstip voor het grootste deel van Europa weer weggedaan wordt; tegen die tijd hebben wij hier al zo lag 's ochtends een lichtje nodig voordat we op pad gaan, dat elke eventuele bezuiniging die we hadden in de tijd ervoor, met een noodgang compleet teniet gedaan word...

And then it's September again... summer holidays are over, the evenings aren't as warm anymore, so we're indoors earlier and we're quickly slipping back into a more normal routine... Now just get back to normal time as soon as possible, and life will be enjoyable again!

Yeah, yeah, I know that for some strange reason, they're still sticking with Daylight Savings Time, and especially a time that's being discontinued far too late for most of Europe; by then, we'll have a need for a light early in the morning for such a long time before we head out the door, that any potential savings we might have made in the preceding period will be completely undone...

Nog een van de projecten die ik op de stempelmiddag 2 vrijdagen terug maakte. (Het was een hele productieve middag!) De achtergrond komt zo uit mijn achtergrondendoos en naast het sponzen met verschillende kleuren over elkaar om een andere rode kleur te krijgen als die er in het assortiment van Distress inkt zitten, heb ik alleen een tekst toegevoegd.

Ik moet nog even kijken in welk Art Journal deze terecht komt; heel misschien moet er dan nog een achtergrond  achter gemaakt worden en moet het misschien iets kleiner worden, maar dat zie ik een volgende keer wel weer.

Another of the projects I made at the stamping afternoon two Fridays ago. (It was a very productive afternoon!) The background is straight out of my background box and besides sponging with different colors on top of each other to get a different red as there are in the Distress Ink assortiment, I only added some text. I still need to see in wich Art Journal this will end up; I might need to add a background and make it a bit smaller, but I 'll see about that another time...
