Halloween en herfst / Halloween and Fall

En dit is de laatste van de batch die maakte toen ik de tweede keer op een stempeldonderdagmiddag aan de slag ging met Lavinia stempels. (De eertste vind je hier, de tweede hier en de derde hier) Deze is wel weer in de CaS-stijl. Wat je niet ziet is hoe ik begonnen ben met het tekenen van een gedeelte van een cirkel en daarna heb ik het spinnenweb gestempeld. Daarna de pompoenen en eikels gestempeld en gemaskerd voor ik de rest stempelde. Met daarna de maskers verwijderd heb ik alles met maar 4 kleuren gekleurd om het rustig te houden.

And this  is the last of the batch that I made when I got working with  the Lavinia stamps on a stamping Thursday afternoon. (You can find the first one here, the second one here and the third one here) This one is again in the CAS style. What you don't see, is, how I started with drawing a part of a circle and I stamped the web after that. After that I stamped the pumpkins and acorns and maskered them before I stamed the rest, With the masks of I only used four colors to color it and keep it serene.

Weer een die ik maakte de tweede keer dat ik op een stempeldonderdagmiddag aan de slag ging met Lavinia stempels. (De eerste vind je hier en de tweede hier) Dit keer stempelde ik eerst alles en heb het daarna kleur gegeven.

Niet helemaal CaS, maar wel heerlijk om te maken!

Again one I made the second time that I went on working with the Lavinia stamps on a stamping Thursday afternoon. (You can find the first one here and the second one here) This time I stamped all first and put the color on after that.

Not totally CAS, but so much fun to make!

In de vorige post zag je veel katten, maar vandaag zie je er maar een en wat vleermuizen. Echt niet spookachtig deze stempel... Maar toch ook zo een hoort bij Halloween. En lekker weer eens in de CaS-stijl gewerkt.

In the previous post you saw lot's of cats, but today you'll see just one and some bats. This stamp really isn't spooky at all... But a stamp like that also belongs to Halloween. And I enjoyed working in the CAS-style again.

Te lief om 'spooky' te zijn / Too cute to be spooky

Een van de stempels die ik overnam van een voormalig DT-lid van Whimpsy Stamps was deze met de geinige katten. Eigenlijk wat te lief voor mij, maar ikvind ze ergens wel wat hebben...

Er zitten nog mee katten in deze set en leuke teksten, dus maakte ik er nog meer mee...

One of the stamps I bought from a former DT-member from Whimpsy Stamps was this one featuring the cute cats. It's actually a bit too sweet for my taste, but there's something about them that I really like... The set includes other cats and fun sentiments too, so I created a few more projects with them...

Het lichtje brand... / The candle is lit...

Voor het laatste project van die stempeldonderdagmiddag gebruikte ik weer een stempel die ik vorig jaar pas na Halloween binnen kreeg. Ik vond deze al jaren mooi en nu zag ik 'm ergens afgeprijsd, dus kon ik de verleiding niet weerstaan on deze te bestellen... Na het stempelen wist ik dat het een echt iets in CaS-stijl moest wirden; de stempel op zich vind ik zo mooi...

For the final project of that stamping Thursday afternoon, I used a stamp that I hadn't recieved until after Halloween last year. I had admired it for years, and when I saw it on sale somewhere, I couldn't resist ordering it...

Ince I'd stamped the image, I knew the design had to be true CAS style piece; I just love the stamp itself so much...

''Trick or treet'

Hier in de buurt gaan de kinderen ook rond voor 'Trick or treat' en eigenlijk is het wel leuk om ze eens aan de deur te zien en te spreken i.p.v. in beweging in het hofje bezig te zien met een of ander spel.

Ook hier heb ik weer twee merken stempels gecombineerd en ik ben blij dat de pompoenen stempel die ik vorig jaar pas na Halloween heb gekocht nu gebruikt werd...

Children in the neightborhood go trick or treating too, and it's actually nice to see them at the door and have a chat, rather than just seeing them running around the 'hofje' playing some games.

Again I have combined stamps from two different brands, and I'm glad I finally got to use the pumpkin stamp I bought last year just after Halloween had passed...

Het ronde heksenuur / The circle witching hour

Dat ik van cirkels hou is geen geheim, en dus, nadat ik gisteren al een cirkel had gebruikt, gebruikte ik die nog een keer. Natuurlijk ietsje anders, maar wel gesponst. Hoe leuk is het om een oude stempel van Inkadinkado (bestaat dat merk eigenlijk nog, of is dat een van de vele merken die verdwenen zijn?) te combineren met een aantal van de sprookjesachtige Lavinia stempels... Na een beetje kleuren voelde het wat kaal en heb ik wat strepen getrokken om het af te maken.

It is no secret that I love circles, so after using one yesterday, I decided to use that ine again. A ittle differently this time, of course, but still with a sponged effect.

It's so much fun combining an old stamp from Inkadinkado (does that brand even still exist, or is it one of the many brands that have disappeared?) with some of those fairytail-like Lavinia stamps...

After doing some coloring, it felt a little bit bare, so I added some lines to finish it off.

Een beetje hekserig / A wee bit wicked

Niks leuker dan tot de ontdekking komen dat een stempel die je dit jaar hebt gekocht perfect past bij een stempel die je al jaren hebt... Dat gebeurde met deze twee stempels; de grootte en verhoudingen klopten gewoon... 

Bij deze maakte ik eerst de ronde achtergrond met een stencil gemaakt d.m.v. een stans en stempelde daarna alles.

There's nothing better than discovering that a stamp you bought this year pairs perfectly with one you have owned for years... That's exactly what happened with these two stanps; the size and proportions were just right...

For this one I created the round background with a stencil made with a die-cut first and then stamped everything.

Een heksenhoed... / A witchs hat...

Oké, het is misschien af en toe nog warm en lekker in het zonnetje overdag buiten en ik geniet super van onze heerlijke nazomer hier, maar... ik vind de herstkleuren en de betoverende, spookachtige en soms ronduit enge dingen van halloween ook heel erg mooi en leuk... 

Dus zijn we op een stempeldonderdagmiddag in September gewoon al begonnen met van alles in heksen- en halloween sfeer. Ik heb natuurlijk ook niet voor niets zoveel stempels en andere dingen die daar helemaal daarbij passen... Ik hou daar gewoon van...

Als start ben ik begonnen met een nieuwe stempel. 

Okay, it might still be warm and pleasant sometimes out in the sunshine during the day and I am really enjoying our lovely late summer here, but I also absolutely live the autumn colors and the enchanting, spooky, sometimes downright scary aspects of Halloween.

So, on a stamping Thursday afternoon in September, I simply dove right into all things witchy- and Halloween themed. After all, I have so many stamps and other supplies that fit the theme perfectly for a reason... I just love it.

To start things off, I began with a new stamp.

Dit is de tweede van de batch die ik de tweede keer maakte met oude en (voor mij) nieuwe Lavinia stempels op een Stempeldonderdagmiddag. Deze keer heb ik eerst alles gesponst en heb daarna alles gestempeld. Als laatste de heks nog wat kleur gegeven en wat grond getekend en dat was het weer...

Als je in September al start met spookachtige/Halloween projecten kun je er lekker veel maken. Zeker als je veel stempels en meer hebt in dat thema. En als er dan ook nog nieuwe stempels uitkomen bij een sprookachtige feeën- en heksenmerk en er ergens een vakantiekorting is, wil je je stempels van dat merk natuurlijk graag aanvullen met die en wat oudere stempels die je nog steeds graag zou willen hebben... Dus mijn budget is ondertussen op, maar de (voor mij) nieuwe stempels hebben nog geen inkt gezien...

Natuurlijk had ik al een heel aantal Spookachtige/heksen projecten gemaakt met stempels van andere merken, daarna ben ik in Oktober eindelijk met Lavinia stempels begonnen, die ik, heel onlogisch, hier eerder liet zien dan de projecten die ik in September maakte. 

Ik maakte er drie tijdens een stempeldonderdagmiddag en legde de stempels weg voor de stempeldonderdagmiddag daarna, maar daar kwam wat tussen. Dus heb ik ze op mijn hobbytafel gelegd en er meer mee gemaakt de stempel donderdagmiddag daarna.

Dit is de eerste van dat stel:

If you start working on spooky or Halloween themed projects as early as September, you can create quite a few of them. Espescially if you already own a lot of stamps and more in that theme. And, when a brand specialized in magical, fairies and witsches releases new stamps, and there's a holiday discount available somewhere, you naturally want to add those new stamps to your collection, together with some older ones you've had your eye on for a while... So my budget is now gone, but the (to me) new stamps are not jet inked...

Of course I already had created a number of spooky and witch themed projects using stamps from other brands. After those, in October, I finally started using Lavinia stamps, wich, somewhat illogically, I shard here before the projects I made in September.

I created three of them during a Stamping Thursday afternoon and set the rest of them aside for the following week, but something came up that Thursday. So I left them on my craft table and than made more whit them the next Stamping Thursday afternoon.

Heksenuur 3 / Witching hour 3

Op de een of andere manier kom ik telkens als ik in de sprookjesachtige / Halloween sfeer werk uiteindelijk bij de CaS-stijl uit; ik cind het gewoon mooi om die sprookjesachtige of wat spookachtige scenes heel contrasterend in die stijl te maken... En, omdat ik zoveel Lavinia stempels heb, en al aardig wat sprookjesachtige / Halloween projecten heb gemaakt, ben ik nog even verder gegaan met dat merk. Ik heb de (voor mij nieuwe) bezemstempels gebruikt. (Ik leende die eerst altijd, maar vind ze gewoon te mooi...) Wat grond getekend en de heksenhoed ingekleurd om deze van het papier te laten 'spatten' en dat was het voor deze keer weer...

Somehow, whenever I work on fairy-tale or Halloween-theme project, I always end up making something in CAS-style; I just love creating those fairy-tale or slightly spooky scenes with the high contrast that style offers. And since I own so many Lavinia stamps, and have already created  quite a few fairy-tale or Halloween projects, I decided to stick with that brand. I used the (for me new) broomsticks stamps. (I use to borrow them, but I just think they are too beautiful not to own). I sketched in some ground and colored the witch's hat to make it really pop off the page, and that was it for this time again...

Een nieuwe maand en dus begint er weer een nieuwe uitdaging bij Lavinia. Zoals verwacht heeft het met heksen te maken: 'Heksenuur'. Dat is een leuke en past heerlijk in de spookachtige / Halloween tijd en bij de mooie herfst- en Halloween kleuren die ik zo leuk vind. 

Ik heb heel wat heksenstempels van dat merk, al kun je ook zonder heksenstempel ook een sfeer van een heksenuur creëren.Dus op de 1e dag van deze maand op weer een heerlijke stempeldonderdagmiddag ben ik aan de slag gegaan met o.a. heksen...

A new month and there is a new challenge at Lavinia. Like expected it involves witches; 'Witching hour'. That is a fun one and fits perfectly with the spooky / Halloween season and the beautiful autumn- and Halloween colors I love so much.

I own a lot of witch stamps from that brand, though you can certainly create a 'witching hour' atmosphere without using a witch stamp. So on the first day of the month on anither delightful stamping Thursday afternoon I set to work using witches among other things...

Gestreepte vrouw serie / Striped lady serie

Nieuw (voor mij) is deze stans waarbij een gestreept vrouwen silhouet in een frame uitgestanst word. Ik vind het best lastig als je door een stans beperkt word in de grootte van wat je maakt, maar denk dat deze serie van drie wel goed aangeeft dat ik deze toch op verschillend manieren kon gebruiken:

New (to me) is this die that cuts out a striped silhouette of a woman within a frame, I find it quite challenging when a sie limits the size of what I'm creating, but I think this series of three clearly shows that I was able to use it in various ways after all:

Ik ging weer verder met de 'city stempel' en de serie, maar wilde iets anders maken dan de vorige drie (die kun je hier en hier en hier vinden) en heb dus wel dezelfde elementen gebruikt, met dezelfde kleuren als de derde, maar nu met een vrouw die meer in de tijd van de stad past zoals die gestempeld is.... 

Dit is echt het laatste project voor nu, al heb ik nog wel wat andere ideeën met deze 'city stempel'.

I continued again with the 'city stamp' and the series, but wanted to create something different as the previous three (wich you can find here and here and here), so while using the same elements, I went for the same colors as the third one, but now with a woman wich is more of the time of the city as it is stamped... 

This really is the last project for now, although I do have a few other ideas for this 'city stamp'.
