Eerste ontmoeting / First meeting

Nadat ik afgelopen stempel donderdagmiddag het project gemaakt had uit mijn vorige post, zat ik er weer een beetje in en ben ik nog even door gegaan met die stempels. De dassenstempel is een die ik heel mooi vind, maar (nog) veel te weinig gebruikt heb, dus deze moest ik gewoon gebruiken...

De twee dassen ontmoeten elkaar voor de eerste keer...

After I made the project from last post on last stamping Thursday afternoon, I was getting more in a 'making mood' and I went on with those stamps. The badgers stamp is one that I really like, but haven't used them enough (jet), so these ones had to be used...

De uitdaging deze maand bij Lavinia is: "story time" en, al heb ik nog steeds wat minder 'mojo', ik heb toch wat kunnen bedenken; De elven houden een sneeuwpop wedstrijd! Op de 2e foto zie je de glinstering van de vleugels wat beter...

The challenge this month at Lavinia is "story time". And, even if I still have somewhat less 'mojo', I have come up with something; The fairies are having a snowman challenge! On the 2nd photo you can see yhe glinstering a little bit better...

Poezenwens / Catwishes

Nog voor de zomer was ik op zoek naar deze stempel van Katzelkraft en kon deze nergens vinden. Na de zomer was ik voor heel andere stempels aan het kijken bij een webwinkel waar ik niet eerder (of lang geleden) had besteld en vond ik 'm opeens. Dat heeft zo moeten wezen, want nu kon ik 'm gebruiken waar ik 'm voor zocht; voor de verjaardagskaart van onze dochter...

Before the summer I was lppkomg for this Katzelkraft stamp and couldn't find it anywhere. After the summer I was looking for completely different stamps at an online store where I hadn't ordered before (or it had been a long time), and suddenly I found it. It had to be so, because now I could use it where I wanted it for 'our daughter's birthday card...

Boeken, bladzijden en woorden / Books. Pages and words

Een hele lange tijd heb ik het vol gehouden om alles wat we in huis hebben elke twee jaar in m'n handen te nemen en te beslissen of we het zouden houden, verkopen, weggeven of weggooien. (Dit deed ik al lang voor die japanse dame daar zo bekend mee werd) En toen kwam daar zo'n 10 jaar geleden een beetje de klad in en werden een aantal ruimtes overgeslagen. Best te doen als je eerst elke 2 jaar alles opruimde, maar, met een aantal hobbies waar de spullen zich steeds meer voor vermeerderden niet erg handig... Dus ben ik dit jaar weer begonnen om alles in handen te nemen en op te ruimen.

En dan kom je verrassende dingen tegen. Zoals deze tekst die op een boekenlegger te lezen was.

 Ik vond de tekst mooi, maar de boekenlegger niet en dus kwam deze tekst op een van mijn Art Journal pages terecht:

For a very long time I managed to go through everything in our house every two years and decide whether to keep it, sell it, give it away, or throw it away. (I was doing this long before that Japanese lady became famous with that) Then, about 10 years ago, things started to go a bit haywire, and a few rooms were skipped. It was  manageable if you initially cleaned everything out every two years, but with the number of hobbies that required more and more things, it wasn't very practical... So this year, I started taking everything in hand again and cleaning it out. And then you come across surprising things. Like this text that was on a bookmark.

I liked the text that was on it, but not the bookmark, so this text ended up on one of my Art Journal pages:

CaS in het weekend 500 De laatste!!! / CAS in the weekend 500 The last one!!!

Dit is de laatste CaS in het weekend; ik heb er 500 gemaakt en stop met de CaS in het weekend projecten. Ik vind 500 er meer dan genoeg... 

Dus vind je mijn CaS projecten gewoon overal tussendoor, maar niet meer persé in het weekend.

Omdat mijn 'mojo' nog steeds niet helemaal terug is ben ik gaan kijken wat ik dan voor de 1e CaS in het weekend (toen nog CaS op zaterdag) maakte; zie hier.

En met de mooie cirkel en het oranje-geel in gedachten heb ik deze gemaakt:

This is the last CAS in the weekend; I made 500 and stop with the CAS in the weekend projects.

I think 500 is more than enough...

So in futere you can find my CAS projects in between every post, but not nescesarry in the weekend.

Because my 'mojo' hasn't come back totally I looked up what I made for the first CAS in the weekend (than it was called CAS on Saterday) : here.

Midwinterfeest / Midwinterfest

Ik probeer elke maand mee te doen aan de uitdaging bij Lavinia met hun stempels. Gewoon omdat ik de uitdagingen leuk vind en hun stempels en omdat ik vind dat ik die stempels ook moet gebruiken als ik er zoveel heb... Dus gisteren, (na een vroege start van de dag met het ophalen van het station van onze dochter de wereldreizigster), en heel veel wassen, ben ik er eens rustig voor gaan zitten om op de stempel donderdagmiddag weer iets te maken voor deze maands uitdaging. Dit keer is het thema: "Story time". Daar moest ik wel een tijdje over denken, maar uiteindelijk heb ik de muizen het midwinterfeest laten vieren:

I try to participate in Lavinia'smonthly challenge with their stamps. Simply because I like the challenges , their stamps, and because I think I should use them when I have so many... So yesterday (after an early start picking up our globe trotting daughter from the station) and a lot of laundry, I sat down to make something for the monthly challenge on the stamping thursday afternoon. This time the theme is "Story time". I had to think about it for a while, but in the end, I let the mice celevrate midwinter:

Gelliplate 4 blad en kat Gelliplate 4 Leaf and cat

Afgelopen donderdag had ik ook weer de Gelloplate achtergronden meegenomen die ik met de bladeren had gemaakt. En ik had een aantal al uit aquarelpapier uitgestanstte katten meegenomen. Op het moment dat ik deze in mijn tas deed had ik geen enkel idee wat ik daarmee wou maken, maar toen ik eenmaal wat dingen had gemaakt, heb ik een van de bontgekleurde Gelliplate achtergronden genomen en heb met een sponnenweb stencil wat extra laagjes gemaakt. Daarna de de katten een bijpassend kleurtje gegeven en erop geplakt. En ik had een houten tekst meegenomen, dus ook die bijpassend gekleutd en erop geplakt. Ik denk dat ik het langst bezig was met de schaduwen om de katten te maken...

Last Thursday I brought with me the Gelliplate backgrounfd I'd made with the leaves. I also brought some cats I'd already die-cut out of watercolor paper. Whem I put those in my bag, I had no idea what I wanted tomake with them, but once I'd made a few things, I took one of the brightly colored backgrounds and added some extra layers with a spiderweb stencil. Then I coloted the cats in matching colors and glued them om.I also brought a wooden text, so I colored rgar ro match and glued that on. I think making the shadows for the cats took me the longest...

Dezelfde stempel en toch anders /The same stamp and still different

Soms heb ik eem stempel gebruikt en heb er gelijk een ander idee voor. of wil ik 'm meteen nog een keer gebruiken. Dat overkwam me met deze stempel. Gewoon weer op aquarelpapier en zelfs met dezelfde kleuren... en toch werd deze weer anders...

Sometimes I have used a stamp and immediately I got another idea with that stamp, or I just liked it so much that I want to use it again. That was what happened with this stamp. Just ysed it again on aquarel paper and even with the same colors... and still it came out different again...

CaS in het weekend 499 / CAS in the weekend 499

Dit is de 1 na laatste CaS in het weekend; hierna nog 1 en ik heb er 500 gemaakt en stop ik met de CaS in het weekend projecten. Ik vind 500 er meer dan genoeg... 

Dan vind je de CaS projecten gewoon tussendoor, maar niet meer persé in het weekend.

Ondertussen is het hier sinds donderdag steeds donker overdag; bewolkt en af en toe een beetje regen. Echt de donkere dagen van het jaar... ik kijk uit naar de 21ste van deze maand, omdat het van die dag af steeds weer lichter word. En om het daarnaar uitkijken wat makkelijker te maken, gebruikte ik vee; kleuren op dit project:

This is the second-to-last CAS in the weekend; one more after this one and I'll have made 500 and will quit the CAS in the weekend projects.

From than you can find the CAS projects on every day, but not nescessarrily in the weekend anymore...

In the mean while it is dark here during the day since Thursday; clouds and occasionally a bit of rain. Truly the darkest days of the year... I'm looking fprward to the 21 of this month, because from that day on, it will get lighter and lighter. And to make it a little easier to look forward to, I used lots of colors on this project:

Muis op zwart / Mouse on black

En dan denk je die muizen, die zouden het ook leuk moeten doen op een zwarte ondergrond. En dat doen ze ook! Alleen moet je niet zo'n dikke witte cirkel-lijn trekken als ik hierbij heb gedaan...

Dus deze gaat in mijn Art Journal waar ik allerlei technieken in uit probeer... 

Ik vond 'm te leuk om 'm niet te laten zien, dus bij deze:

And then you think; those mice would be looking good on a black background tpp. And they do! The only thing you must not do is drawing a bold white circle line like I did here...

So this one goes in my Art Journal in wich I try all kinds of techniques...

I just like this one too much to not show it...

Herfst / Autumn

Natuurlijk heb ik tijdens de 'Gelliplate-sessie' op een van de stempel donderdagmiddagen hele drukke achtergronden gemaakt. Maar ik probeer er ook altijd wat rustige achtergronden bij te maken die ik kan gebruiken in meer CaS ontwerpen. Dit is zo'n achtergrond. De uil stempel is er een die ik al even geleden echt niet kon weerstaan... Het blad en de uilvind ik echt bij elkaar passen vanwege al die kleurtjes en de textuur...

Of course I made very bussy backgrounds during the 'Gelliplate-sessie' on one of the stamping Thursday afternoon. But I always try to make some cleaner backgrounds in a sessie wich I can use in some more CAS designs. This is one of them. The owl stamp is one that I bought a while ago and couldn't resist... I think the leaf and the pwl fit so good together because of there colours and textures...
