Dans alsof... / Dance like...

Ook deze achtergrond is gemaakt met de Gelliplate. En ook deze lag al heel lang in mijn achtergrondendoos, want deze is nog uit de periode dat we elke keer weer nieuwe technieken probeerden. Dat hebben we een hele tijd gedaan (waarbij niet alle technieken lukten en zeker niet alle technieken favorieten zijn geworden...), maar, toen we steeds alleen nog maar vreemdere technieken konden vinden die we nog niet geprobeerd hadden en ze steeds minder bevielen, zijn we daarmee gestopt. Nu maken we gewoon van alles met de technieken waar we zin in hebben en wat past bij het idee dat we in ons hoofd hebben. En stiekem gebruiken we best veel van de technieken die we toen geprobeerd hebben. De ene techniek alleen wat vaker dan de andere...

Maar goed, terug naar deze Gelliplate achtergrond; we waren niet kapot van het resultaat van deze Gelliplate techniek, maar ik vond 'm ook te leuk om in de oud papierbak te gooien... En net als bij dit project, waarbij ik een kat gestencild heb over een monochroom grijze Gelliplate afdruk, heb ik dat hier ook gedaan, natuurlijk wel met een andere kleur en weer anders verder afgewerkt; het is nou eenmaal niet zo leuk 2x hetzelde te doen...

This background was also made with the Gelliplate. And this one too, had been in my background box for ages, because it dates back to the time that we were constantly trying new techniques. We did that for a long time (not all techniques worked , and certainly not all of them became favorites...), but when we kept finding stranger and stranger techniques that we hadn't tried yet, and we liked them less and ;ess, we stopped. Now we just make all sorts of things with the techniques we feel like using and that fit the idea we have in mind. And srill we use quite a few o the techniques we troid back then.Just some techniques more oten than others...

Anyway, back to this Gelliplatebackground; we weren;t thrilled with the result of this Gelliplate technique, but I thought it was too nice to throw it in the recycling bin... And just like with this project where I stencilled a cat over a monochrome gray Gelliplate print, I did the same here, o course with a different color and different finish. It's just no un to do the same twice.

Besprenkeld met zonneschijn / Sprinkled with sunshine

Zodra het warmer en zonnig weer is, moet ik denken aan schommelen... Klinkt misschien raar, maar als kind was in al veel en vaak op de schommel te vinden. Lekker een windje om je heen terwijl je door de lucht zoeft...

Dus leek het me leuk een elfje te laten schommelen...

As soon ot is warmer and more sunshine, I think about swinging.... Sounds strange maybe, but when I was a kid you could find me a lot and long times in the swing. So nice to feel the breese around you while loating through the air...

So I thought it would be fun to let a fairy swing...

Begin van de lente / Start of spring

Natuurlijk wil ik ook deze maand meedoen met de uitdaging bij Lavinia. Ik heb oudere en een paar (voor mij) nieuwe stempels gebruikt. De laatste release was er een met voor mij 3 leuke stempels, maar andere stempels gingen voor, dus m'n budget was op, dus die komen een andere keer wel aan de beurt. Voor vandaag heb ik lekker veel bloemen gebruikt; ik kijk ernaar uit dat er weer veel meer in de tuin te zien zijn...

Of course I want to participate in the challenge at Lavinia this month. I used some older and a few (for me) new stamps. The last release was one with 3 stamps I really like, but other stamps were first in line, so I ran out of budget, so they will come another time. For today I used a lot of flowers; I am looking forward to seeing more flowers in the garden again...

Het regent nooit altijd / It never rains forever

De tweede van de achtergronden gemaakt met de ronde Gelliplate. (De 1e kun je hier vinden) Deze keer meer in de CaS-stijl en met twee dingen die ik graag combineer; een cirkel en strepen... Ik blijf het leuk vinden om iets wat op elkaar lijkt heel anders te verwerken en ik heb nog drie meer van deze, maar die volgen later weer.

I still enjoy processing simular things in a completely different way and I have three more backgruonds made with the round Gelliplate, but they will follow later.

Als laatste op die stempeldonderdagmiddag dat ik met achtergronden en stencils en uitgestanstte figuren aan de gang ging maakte ik ook nog iets zonder kant-en-klare achtergrond. 

Wel met een stencil waar ik doorheen sponsde en met een kwast en water nog meer kleur aanbracht, maar verder hield ik het rustig en snel in de CaS-stijl met een tekstje en een figuurtje van een meisje.

Lastly on that stamping Thursday aternoon, when I was working with backgrounds, stencils and die-cut igures, I also made something without a pre-made background.

I did use a stencil, sponged through it and added more color with a brush and water, but otherwise I kept it simple and quick in the CAS-style with a little sentiment and a girl figure.

In de nacht / In the night

Ik vond ook een aantal achtergronden gemaakt met de ronde Gelliplate, verf en een achtergrondstempel. Allemaal telkens weer iets anders gemaakt. Deze achtergrond was degene met de meeste verf erop. Dus gebruikte ik twee best stevige stempels voor de achtergrond, tekende nog wat om de figuur van de man te 'gronden' en zocht een tekst erbij.

I also found a few backgrounds made with the round Gelliplate, paint and a background stamp. All made just a little bit diferent. This background was the one with the most paint on it. So I used two bold stamps for the background. draw a bit to 'ground' the man image and looked or a sentiment to go with it.

Eekhoorns op een reuzenblad / Squirrels on a gigant leaf

En nog een van de achtergronden die ik die stempeldonderdagmiddag gebruikte. Dit keer met een nieuw stencil van eekhoorns, een van mijn lievelings dieren... Fijn dat ik na zoveel jaar eindelijk iets heb gevonden om op deze blad achtergrond te gebruiken!

And again one of the backgrounds that I used that stamping Thursday afternoon. This time with a new stencil of squirrels, one of my avorite animals... Glad that I finaly found something to use on the leaf background!

Open your mind...

Bij de achtergronden vond ik een stuk papier met daarop mooie kleuren Colorwash gespoten. En ik had van de moeder van een vriend dit al uitgestanstte vissenkaartje gekregen (samen met een heleboel papier en enveloppen) toen zij door haar dimentie daar zel niets meer mee doen kon. Het was een mooie combinatie en zo bleef je de mooie kleuren ook nog zien... Een tekststempel gezocht en opgeplakt en zo was deze wel heel snel klaar...

Omdat ook deze zo snel gemaakt was, en ik er nog meer snel maakte met een heel aantal achtergronden uit mijn achtergrondendoos, zal ik de komende tijd wat vaker iets posten i.p.v. om de dag...

Among the backgrounds I found a piece of paper with beautiul Colorwash colors on it. And I was gifted this pre-cut fish card from the mother of a friend (together with a mountain of paper and envelopes) when she couldn't use them anymore due to dementia. It was a beautiful combination, and this way you could still see the colors . I found this sentiment and glued it together.

Because this one was also made that quickly, and I made more quickly with a lot of backgrounds rom my background box, I'll be posting ofter for a while instead of every other day.

Kat in de stad / cat in the city

Op een stempel donderdagmiddag bij Josje had ik veel achtergronden meegenomen en een hoop stencils en een paar al uitgestanstte dingen. Fijn als ik eindelijk een aantal van die achtergronden uit mijn doos zou kunnen gebruiken...

Als eerste stencil op mijn stapel lag een kattenstencil en tussen de achtergronden kwam ik nog een Gelliplate afdruk tegen van het Bauhuis gebouw in zwart en wit. (Zie hier voor een andere) Waarom zou ik de kat daar niet voor in de stad laten open?

Zo gezegd, zo gedaan:

On a stamping thursday aternoon at Josje I brought a lot of backgrounds and a lot of stencils and some already die-cut images. Would be nice to finally use some of those backgrounds from my background box...

The first stencil on the pile was a cat stencil and between the backgrounds I found another Gelliplate background of the Bauhause building in black and white. (look here to see an other one)

Why shouldn't I let the cat walk in ront of that one in the city?

Ik zal altijd van je houden / I'll always love you

Lekker even iets heel anders; een stempel die al even lag te wachten op inkt. Wel heb ik weer een van de oude stencils van Andy Skinner gebruikt (en nu gauw weer opbergen en andere stencils gaan gebruiken).

Something completely different; a stamp that's been waiting for ink for a while. I did use one of Andy Skinner's old stencils again (and I'll quickly put it away and go use other stencils).

Denkend / Thinking

Alweer de laatste van de nieuwe serie stempels van Andy Skinner... Nu ben ik niet vergeten eerst haar te stempelen en maskeren en daarna pas gaan sponzen door een (oud) stencil, ook van Andy Skinner. Die stencils die hij al lang geleden uitbracht zijn nog steeds lievelings stencils en moet ik na gebruik dan ook echt meteen opbergen, anders blijf ik ze gebruiken. Maar, dat geld ook voor deze nieuwe serie stempels... Dus voorlopig zijn ze opgeborgen en mogen ze een tijdje niet te voorschijn komen...

Now I didn't forget to stamp and mask her first and then sponged trough an (old) stencil, also by Andy Skinner. He released those stencils a long time ago and I absolutely have to put them away immediately after using, otherwise I'll keep using them. But, the same goes for this new series of stamps... So for now, they are tucked away and are not allowed to be brought out for a while...

Stt... Het is een geheim / Shh... It is a secret

Ik hou niet van elke  keer uitknippen, dus maak ik vaak een masker dat ik maar een keer hoef uit te knippen en daarna heel veel keer kan gebruiken. Maar, bij het sponzen door dit stencil was ik zo enthousiast, dat ik vergat deze volgende stempel uit de nieuwe serie van Andy Skinner eerst te stempelen en maskeren, terwijl ik wel een masker had gemaakt. Komt ervan als je zoiets in gedeeltes maakt als je steeds maar even tijd hebt... Maar goed, dus haar ook nog een keer op een stukje stempelpapier uitgeknipt, gekleurd en toen boven op de gestempelde abeelding geplakt (zo kreeg ik ook nog de vlinders aFgedrukt). Als laatste heb ik de tekst uit de set erbij gestempeld; die vind ik zo leuk... 

I don't like cutting out every time, so I oten make a mask that I only have to cut out onece and then can use many times. Howerver, while sponging through this stencil I was so ebthousiastic that I prgot to stamp and mask this next stamp rom the new Andy Skinner serie, while I had already made a mask. That's what happens when you makesomething like this in parts when you only have a little time each time... Anyway, so I cut her out again on a piece o stamping paper, colored it and then adhered it on top of the stamped image (that's how I also got the butterlies stamped). Finaly I stamped the sentiment from the set; I love this one...

Bloemblazen / Flower blowing

In zo'n nieuwe serie heb je natuurlijk altijd favorieten, maar deze is niet mijn meest favoriete. Ik vind haar gewoon leuk... En zo, gecombineerd met nog een van mijn favoriete achtergrondstempels, ben ik blij met het resultaat. Wat vind jij?

In such a new serie you always have favorites, but this is not my most gavorite one. I just like her... And like this, combined with again one o my favorite background stamps, I am so pleased with the result. What do you think?
