Kussend / Kissing

Als een achtergrond al heel wat jaren in de doos zit en je blijft 'm vaak te mooi vinden om er iets op te zetten, moet je gewoonweg op zoek gaan naar iets dat niet te veel 'impact' heeft en waarbij je alleen maar met zwart erop hoeft te werken.

Ik geloof dat dat op deze achtergrond wel gelukt is...

When a background sits in the backgroundbox for many years and you kep om finding it too beautiul to put something over it, you just have to look for something that hasn't too much 'impact' and with wich toy only need to work with black. I think it worked on this background

Ik zie haar vliegen / I see her flying

Zoals ik in de vorige post al schreef heb ik twee nazomer scenes gemaakt. Hier vind je de eerste en vandaag dus de tweede...

Ik had de leuke zonnebloemen van Lavinia dit jaar nog niet gebruikt, dus dat werd hoog tijd! En die vind ik perfect passen bij nazomerse dagen, al zijn ze dit jaar net als alle bloemen veel sneller weer uitgebloeit in het 'eggie'; het is gewoon te vroeg te warm geweest...

Maar dus wel op mijn kaart en gecombineerd met de nieuwste heksenstempel van Lavinia...

I hadn't yet used Lavinia’s lovely sunflower stamps this year, so it was time I did! I think they are perfect for late-summer days, even though, in real life, they (like all flowers this year) finished blooming much sooner than usual; it simply got too hot too early...

But here they are on my card, combined with Lavinia’s newest witch stamp...

Oogst maan / Harvast moon

En dan komen er nieuwe stempels van Lavinia uit en wil je die gelijk bestellen, omdat het heel langzaam weer tijd word om oogst-, herfst- en halloween- scenes te maken. Gelukkig had ik ze heel snel binnen en kon ik er de stempeldonderdagmiddag erna meteen mee aan de slag...

Zoals elke maand is er weer een nieuwe challenge bij Lavinia, dit keer met als thema; "Harvast moon".

Ik ben er nog niet helemaal klaar voor om in de herfst te duiken; ik hou van nazomeren... Dus heb ik eindelijk twee keer een na-zomer tafereel gemaakt. Dit is de eerste:

And then Lavinia releases new stamps, and you want to order them right away because it’s slowly getting the time to create harvest-, autumn-, and Halloween- scenes. Fortunately, they arrived very quickly, so I was able to start working with them that very next "Stamp Thursday" afternoon...

As always, there’s a new challenge from Lavinia this month—this time with the theme "Harvest Moon."

I’m not quite ready to dive into autumn yet; I love the lingering warmth of late summer... So, I ended up creating two late-summer scenes. This is the first one:

Op weg naar... / On the way to...

Deze dame ziet er zomers uit.  Zij kan natuurlijk zomers de koelte van het bos of een park opzoeken. Hier loopt ze tussen de bomen op het pad, iets veel koelers dan op de stenen in de zon...

Gewoon een stencil, een stempel, wat kleur en een beetje tekenen met dit als resultaat:

This woman looks berry summerly. Naturally, in the summer, she can seek out the coolness of the woods or a park. Here she is walking along the path among the trees; somewhere much more cooler than on the paving stones out in the sun...

Als ik niet op je blog kom kijken, komt dat doordat mijn blogrol niet goed werkt op het moment. Ik zie steeds minder, soms maar 3-5 nieuwe posts op een dag en weet dat dat niet klopt... Ik hoop dat jij hier geen last van hebt...

If I don't come check your blog, it is because my blogrol doesn't seem to work corectly in the minute. I see less and less, sometimes only 3-5 new posts in ine day and I now that can't be right... I hope you don't have the same problem...

Pauze 2 / Break 2

Natuurlijk hou je als je het stencil schoonmaakt ook weer een achtergrond over. Van het stencil dat ik hier gebruikte trok ik ook weer een print. Die gaf de afbeelding niet zo heel duidelijk weer, dus heb ik het stencil er weer opgelegd en daardoor met DI markers getekend, die ik later, nadat ik het stencil eraf had gehaald, weer uitgewassen heb met een kwast en wat water.

Nog een tekst erbij en dat was het... 

Ik laat hier alles zien wat ik maak; per jaar zijn er misschien 2-3 dingen waar ik aan begin er waar de stempelhulp verschoof of het papier niet het helemaal juiste was voor de techniek die ik aan het doen was die halverwege in de papierbak belanden. Hoe doe jij dat? Mogen alleen die projecten waar je helemaal tevreden over bent op je blog komen? Of laat jij ook alles zien?

Of course cleaning the stencil leaves you with yet again a background print as well.  pulled a print from the stencil I used here; it didn't show the image very clearly, so I placed the stencil over it and drew the it by using Distress markers. I blended it out with water and a brush after removing the stencil.

Just added some text and some new washitape and that was it...

I show everything I make here; perhaps two or thee times a year I start a project and the stamphelp shifts or the paper isn't suitable for the technique I am doing, and that ends up in the paperbin halfway through. How do you handle it? Do you only post projects you're completely happy with on your blog? Or do you show everything?

Pauze / Break

Dit is het project dat ik niet meer af kreeg op de stempel donderdagmiddag dat ik de vorige 10 projecten maakte. (Ja echt; niet schrikken; ik maakte 10 projecten in een middag!) Dus kwam die in mijn hobbykamertje op tafel te liggen en ik heb er een tijdje over kunnen denken wat ik er na het sponzen van de dame die even pauze neemt nog meer op wilde maken. 

Natuurlijk moest er een tekst op komen, maar wat nog meer?

Uiteindelijk kwam het er pas de volgende stempel donderdagmiddag van dat ik deze afmaakte, maar toen ging het ook heel snel, doordat het idee al een tijdje in mijn hoofd zat...

Ik heb alleen heel  lichtjes gesponst met verschillende kleuren Distress inkt en een tekst erbij gestempeld.

This is the project that I didn't got to finish on the stamping Thursday afternoon when I created the previous ten projects. (Yes really; I made 10 projects in ine afternoon!) So it sat on the table in my little craftroom, giving me time to think what I would like to do with it after sponging the woman who is taking a break.

Of course there had to be a text on it, but what else?

I didn't got around to finish it until the following stamping Thursday afternoon, but when I finished it then, it came together rather quickly, because the idea had been in my head for a while...

 I simply sponged it very lightly with various colors of Distress ink and stamped a text on it.

Met muziek / With music

Op de achtergrond vind je hier de inkt van de man en de vrouw stencil uit de posten hier en hier. Daar overheen heb ik een nieuwe stempel gezet. Het is er eentje die Josje ook heeft, maar die ik zo leuk vond dat ik 'm zelf ook graag wilde hebben om 'm vaker te kunnen gebruiken. Dus hrb ik deze besteld... Je zult deze vast nog wel vaker tegenkomen op projecten van me...

On the background rom this project you find the ink from the man and from the woman stencil from the posts here and here. On top of them I stamped a new stamp. It is one that Josje owns aswel, but one I liked so much that I wanted to have it myself to be able to use it more often. So I ordered it... You will see this one oter in my projects...

Zij / She

In de post hiervoor vind je de afbeelding een man en nu dus de afbeelding van een vrouw gesponst door een stencil. Daarna heb ik weer een masker gemaakt dat gebruikt is om die gesponstte afbeelding te beschermen en er met dezelfde roze tint en zwarte inkt een kleine stempel omheen te zetten. Ik heb er nog wat lijnen op getekend voordat ik de tekst stempelde.

In the post before this one you find the image of a man and now here you find the image of a woman sponged through a stencil. Next I made a mask again and used that to protect the sponged image and used the same pink and also black ink to stamp the little stamp around it. I drew some lines before I stamped the text.

Hij / He

Met stencils kun je meer doen... Net als van een stempel kun je er een mask van maken en dat gebruiken om het gedeelte dat je door een stencil gesponst hebt mee te maskeren/beschermen en er stempels overheen te stempelen, zodat het lijkt of de afbeelding van het stencil voor de stempels staat. 

Dat heb ik met een stencil van een man gedaan en in een volgende post laat ik je er nog een zien met een stencil van een vouw. 

Eerst heb ik rondom 'hem' met allemaal kleine stempels in zwart gestempeld.

Toen vond ik het te simpel en wat saai, dus ben ik met dezelfde blauwe inkt en een rondjes stempel eroverheen gegaan. Dat beetje geeft het voor mij net dat wat het afmaakt. Ben benieuwd of jullie dat ook zo zien...

You can do so much more with stencils... Just like a regular stamp you can create a mask from the stencil. And after you made the mask you can mask the sponged area while stamping over it, creating the illusion that the sponged/stencilled image is positioned in front of the stamped ones.

I did this with the stencil of a man, and, in a future post, I'll show you another example using a stencil of a woman.

First I stamped all around him using various small stamps in black ink. At that point I found it a bit boring looking and a bit simple, so I went over it with blue ink and two of the same little stamps. for me, that little extra touch of color really finishes it of.

Zij weer... twee keer / She again... twice

Op zo'n middag dat we druk aan de gang zijn maak ik dus ook wat nieuwe achtergronden die ik eigenlijk het liefst die middag ook meteen wil gebruiken. En dat pobeer ik dan ook.

Deze zonnige achtergrond komt van de print van het stencil van dit project. En, nadat ik het stencil met de dame in 2 tinten gebruikt had (hier), wilde ik het ook zien in een kleur. Dat is wat ik hier gedaan heb:

On an afternoon on wich we are so busy with all we make I make some new backgrounds aswel, wich I would like to use straight away that aternoon. and that is what I am trying.

This sunny background comes from the print from the stencil from this project, And, after I used this stencil in two colors before (here), I wanted to try ot in just one color. This is what I made:

En natuurlijk maakte ik het stencil weer schoon op aquarelpapier. En dit keer kreeg ik een print die ik heel mooi vond. Dus heb ik deze zo gelaten en er alleen een tekst bij gestempeld en washitape bij gezocht:

And of course I cleaned a stencil again on aquarelpaper. And this time I got a print I really liked. So I kept it just like that and only stamped a sentiment and looked for some washitape to go with it:
