Pauze / Break

Dit is het project dat ik niet meer af kreeg op de stempel donderdagmiddag dat ik de vorige 10 projecten maakte. (Ja echt; niet schrikken; ik maakte 10 projecten in een middag!) Dus kwam die in mijn hobbykamertje op tafel te liggen en ik heb er een tijdje over kunnen denken wat ik er na het sponzen van de dame die even pauze neemt nog meer op wilde maken. 

Natuurlijk moest er een tekst op komen, maar wat nog meer?

Uiteindelijk kwam het er pas de volgende stempel donderdagmiddag van dat ik deze afmaakte, maar toen ging het ook heel snel, doordat het idee al een tijdje in mijn hoofd zat...

Ik heb alleen heel  lichtjes gesponst met verschillende kleuren Distress inkt en een tekst erbij gestempeld.

This is the project that I didn't got to finish on the stamping Thursday afternoon when I created the previous ten projects. (Yes really; I made 10 projects in ine afternoon!) So it sat on the table in my little craftroom, giving me time to think what I would like to do with it after sponging the woman who is taking a break.

Of course there had to be a text on it, but what else?

I didn't got around to finish it until the following stamping Thursday afternoon, but when I finished it then, it came together rather quickly, because the idea had been in my head for a while...

 I simply sponged it very lightly with various colors of Distress ink and stamped a text on it.

Met muziek / With music

Op de achtergrond vind je hier de inkt van de man en de vrouw stencil uit de posten hier en hier. Daar overheen heb ik een nieuwe stempel gezet. Het is er eentje die Josje ook heeft, maar die ik zo leuk vond dat ik 'm zelf ook graag wilde hebben om 'm vaker te kunnen gebruiken. Dus hrb ik deze besteld... Je zult deze vast nog wel vaker tegenkomen op projecten van me...

On the background rom this project you find the ink from the man and from the woman stencil from the posts here and here. On top of them I stamped a new stamp. It is one that Josje owns aswel, but one I liked so much that I wanted to have it myself to be able to use it more often. So I ordered it... You will see this one oter in my projects...

Zij / She

In de post hiervoor vind je de afbeelding een man en nu dus de afbeelding van een vrouw gesponst door een stencil. Daarna heb ik weer een masker gemaakt dat gebruikt is om die gesponstte afbeelding te beschermen en er met dezelfde roze tint en zwarte inkt een kleine stempel omheen te zetten. Ik heb er nog wat lijnen op getekend voordat ik de tekst stempelde.

In the post before this one you find the image of a man and now here you find the image of a woman sponged through a stencil. Next I made a mask again and used that to protect the sponged image and used the same pink and also black ink to stamp the little stamp around it. I drew some lines before I stamped the text.

Met stencils kun je meer doen... Net als van een stempel kun je er een mask van maken en dat gebruiken om het gedeelte dat je door een stencil gesponst hebt mee te maskeren/beschermen en er stempels overheen te stempelen, zodat het lijkt of de afbeelding van het stencil voor de stempels staat. 

Dat heb ik met een stencil van een man gedaan en in een volgende post laat ik je er nog een zien met een stencil van een vouw. 

Eerst heb ik rondom 'hem' met allemaal kleine stempels in zwart gestempeld.

Toen vond ik het te simpel en wat saai, dus ben ik met dezelfde blauwe inkt en een rondjes stempel eroverheen gegaan. Dat beetje geeft het voor mij net dat wat het afmaakt. Ben benieuwd of jullie dat ook zo zien...

You can do so much more with stencils... Just like a regular stamp you can create a mask from the stencil. And after you made the mask you can mask the sponged area while stamping over it, creating the illusion that the sponged/stencilled image is positioned in front of the stamped ones.

I did this with the stencil of a man, and, in a future post, I'll show you another example using a stencil of a woman.

First I stamped all around him using various small stamps in black ink. At that point I found it a bit boring looking and a bit simple, so I went over it with blue ink and two of the same little stamps. for me, that little extra touch of color really finishes it of. 

I'm curious to know if you feel the same way...

Zij weer... twee keer / She again... twice

Op zo'n middag dat we druk aan de gang zijn maak ik dus ook wat nieuwe achtergronden die ik eigenlijk het liefst die middag ook meteen wil gebruiken. En dat pobeer ik dan ook.

Deze zonnige achtergrond komt van de print van het stencil van dit project. En, nadat ik het stencil met de dame in 2 tinten gebruikt had (hier), wilde ik het ook zien in een kleur. Dat is wat ik hier gedaan heb:

On an afternoon on wich we are so busy with all we make I make some new backgrounds aswel, wich I would like to use straight away that aternoon. and that is what I am trying.

This sunny background comes from the print from the stencil from this project, And, after I used this stencil in two colors before (here), I wanted to try ot in just one color. This is what I made:

En natuurlijk maakte ik het stencil weer schoon op aquarelpapier. En dit keer kreeg ik een print die ik heel mooi vond. Dus heb ik deze zo gelaten en er alleen een tekst bij gestempeld en washitape bij gezocht:

And of course I cleaned a stencil again on aquarelpaper. And this time I got a print I really liked. So I kept it just like that and only stamped a sentiment and looked for some washitape to go with it:

Nog iets met een stencil... / Another one with a stencil...

In de vorige post hier gaf ik al aan dat ik weer een stencil heb gebruikt en dus ook schoongemaakt heb. En, ik gebruikte er twee kleuren inkt op.

De afdruk was behoorlijk vaag, dus ik legde het stencil er andersom op en sponsde nog een keer met dezelfde kleuren er doorheen. Het resultaat bleef wat vaag, dus heb ik met een potlood door het stencil de omtrekken getekend en dat haalde het vrouwen silhouet iets meer naar voren. Ik vind het wel wat hebben, maar weet niet of er wel iets bij moet, dus heb ik het zo gelaten.

In the previous post I said that I used a stencil again, so I also cleaned a stencil. And I used two colors of ink on it.

The print was pretty vague, so I put the stencil on it and sponged again with the same colors. The result stayed a bit vague, so I traced with a pencil trough the stencil and that made the female solhouette stand out a little more. I quite like the look of it,  but I wasn't sure of I needed to add something else, so I left it as is.

Aan het water 4 / By the water 4

Het was natuurlijk niet zo slim om weer met stencils aan de gang te gaan... Zo kreeg ik bij het schoonmaken van die stencils steeds weer een achtergrond die ik wilde gebruiken... 

Zoals deze, waarop ik de groene inkt van het gras-stencil dat ik hier gebruikte op afdrukte. Het gaf alleen maar vlekken, maar gaf een lekker frisse achtergrondkleur. 

Ik gebruikte er een ander stencil en twee kleuren inkt op... 

Wat betekende dat ik nog een achtergrond had... Maar wat ik daarmee deed zie je in de volgende post...

It wasn't exactly smart tp start working with stencils again... while cleaning them I kept ending ip with backgrounds that I want to use... Like this one, where I stamped off the geen ink from the gtass stencilI used here. It eft smudges, but created a lovely, fresh backgound color. And I

I used another stencil and two colors of ink on it.

Wich meant I had yet another background...  But  you'll see what I did with that one  in the next post...

Aan het water 3 / By the water 3

Zoals hier al aangegeven heb ik drie dingen gemaakt met dezelfde dingen en in CaS-stijl. Maar, dan moeten ze natiirlijk niet hetzelfde uitzien. Dit is voor mij de manier om weer allerlei ideeën in mijn hoofd te krijgen en lekker aan de gang te gaan met deze heerlijke hobby... 

De bikini was wel erg fel, dus als tegenhanger heb ik er een vlieger in roze bijgeplaatst.

Dit de derde die ik maakte; aan het water ergens aan een meer of afgraving én met een beetje wind voor de vlieger:

As I mentioned here , I created three projects using the same materials and in a CAS-style. Of course they shouldn't aal look the same. or me, this is the way for me to spark new ideas and really enjoy this wonderful hobby... 

The bikini was very bright, so tp balance it out, I added a pink kite. 

This is the thid one I made; set by the water at a lake or a quarry with a bit of wind for the kite.

Aan het water 2 / By the water 2

Zoals hier al aangegeven heb ik drie dingen gemaakt met dezelfde basis materialen en in een vrij 'cleane' stijl om mijn 'mojo' weer  terug te krijgen. Maar, dan moeten ze er natuurlijk niet te veel hetzelfde uitzien. 

Dit stencil deed me denken aan de zon, en dus heb ik dat gebruikt daarvoor.

Een stencil met streepjes deed me denken aan de golfjes die de zee achter kan laten nadat het eb geworden is. Heerlijk om zo een achtergrond te maken...

Dit is de tweede die ik maakte; dit keer  aan het strand.

As already mentioned here, I made three things using the same basic materials and in CaS style to get my 'mojo' back. But, of course, they shouldn't look too much alike. 

This stencil reminded me of the sun, soI used it fpr that. A stencil with little lines reminded me of the ripples the sea leaves behind after the tide goes out. It is so much fun to make a background like that...

Aan het water 1 / By the water 1

En dat is echt zomertijd; genieten van veel buiten zijn 's avonds en overdag ook genoeg te doen. De tijd vliegt en de donderdagmiddagen zijn te warm om te stempelen plus mijn 'mojo' is schijnbaar ook even op vakentie, net als veel mensen uit de buurt; het is hier heerlijk rustig...

Ondertussen heb ik mijn 2-jaarlijkse zomergriep alweer gehad; heel vervelend dat je met dat warme weer pas laat in de gaten hebt dat je griep hebt en het niet alleen maar warm en geen energie hebt door het warme weer...

En dan zijn er gelukkig weer de iets 'koelere' dagen. Deze en hopenlijk ook volgende week waarop ik zin en tijd heb om iets te maken op de stempel donderdagmiddag. Daar moet je van profiteren! Dus ben ik na drie weken eindelijk weer begonnen.  En blij dat het vanaf vandaag een tijd wat koeler blijft!

Voor mij zijn er twee manieren waarop ik snel weer mijn 'mojo' terug krijg; met een stempel en een stencil, of in CaS-stijl iets maken. Deze keer ben ik begonnen met het maken van zomerse dingen in CaS-stijl. Vandaag de eerste... op een stuk aquarelpapier waarop ik het stencil schoonmaakte dat ik voor dit project gebruikte.

Het is aan het water in het zwembad geworden...

And then it is really summer; enyoing being outside in the evenings and during the day there is also lots to do. Time flies and the Thurday afyernoons are to hot to stamp. and my 'mojo' seems to be on a vacation aswell, just as a lot of the neighbours; it is so lovely quiet here...

In the meantime, I’ve already had my biennial summer flu; it’s so annoying that with this warm weather you only realize late that you have the flu, and that you aren't just hot and without energy because of the warm weather...

And then, fortunately, there are the slightly 'cooler' days again this week and hopefully next week too, when I have the desire and time to make something on the stamping Thursday afternoon. You have to benefite that! So, after three weeks, I’ve finally started again. And glad that it’s going to stay a bit cooler for a while starting today!

For me, there are two ways to quickly get my 'mojo' back; with a stamp and a stencil, or making something in CaS style. This time, I started making summery things in CaS style. Today the first one... on a piece of watercolor paper on which I cleaned the stencil I used for this project.

It has become by the water in the swimming pool...

Heb nooit spijt / Never regret

Ook deze beetje grungy bloemenstempel is er een die al langer in mijn doos met nog niet gebruikte stempels stond. Met de bloemen wilde ik een nat-in-nat aquareltechniel doen, maar ik miste nog wat en dus heb ik er de jonge dame die ik eerder hier al gebruikte nog en keer voor gebruikt. De achtergrond is simpelweg gesponst.

This a bit grungy flowerstamp is one that was sitting in my not-used-jet (Nimbus) stampbox. With the flowers I wanted to use a wet-in-wet aquareltechnique, but I thought it lacked something, so I used the young lady that I had used here before again on this ine. The background is simplyn sponged.

De eerste stap nemen / Taking the first step

Sommige stencils zijn gewoonweg ervoor gemaakt om diepte aan je werk te geven. Deze is er zo een. Afhankelijk van de kleuren die je gebruikt lijkt het middenstuk naar voren of naar achteren te komen. In dit geval naar achteren en ik heb nog even getwijfeld om deze niet in te kleuren, maar ben blij dat ik het toch gedaan heb...

Some stencils are made for giving depth to your work. This is one of them. Depening on what colors you use the centerpoece seems to go to the back or comes to the front. In this casr it goes to the back and I was in doubt to color the girl omahe, but I'm glad I did...

Zeepaardje / Seahorse

Nog een stempel die ik al een tijdje in mijn doos met stempels die nog geen inkt hebben gezien had staan. En echt een die ik met de zomer verbind. Dus nu het lekker weer seizoen er weer is moest ook deze eens gebruikt worden... Op aquarelpapier heerlijk rustig gekleurd en de zijkanten met een aantal verfstiften bewerkt.

Another stamp that was standing in my box with stamps that hadn't seen inkt jet.  And one that says 'summer' to me. So now the season with the watm weather is here again it had to be used... I colored on aquarelpaper and the two sides are made with a few paintbrushes.

Weer een heerlijke stempeldinderdagmiddag gehad, waarop ik veel maakte. Ik begon met een stempelset die op de een of andere manier maar in de mand met nog niet gebruikte stempels bleef staan en een achtergond die ik al zo vaak in mijn hand heb gehad en steeds maar weer in mijn achtergrondendoos teruglegde ondat ik er geen idee bij had. Die achtergrond is een print die ik trok bij het schoonmaken van het stencil dat ik hier gebruikte. Het was een prima manier om weer helemaal in de 'mood' te komen en lekker aan de gang te gaan met deze heerlijke hobby...

Again we had a lovely stamping Thursday afternoon, on wich I made a lot. I started with a stampset that somehow kept standing in the box with stamps that haven't seen ink jet and a background that I kept putting back in my backgroundbox because I had no idea what to make with it. That background is a print that I made by cleaning the stencil I used here. It was a un way to get in the 'mood' and have fun with this great hobby...

Bloemen in een maan / Flowers in a moon

In m'n mandje dat ik meegenomen had deze stempeldonderdagmiddag zat ook deze bloemen in een maanstempel die nog geen inkt had gezien. Als afsluiting van de middag heb ik deze gekleurd met DO, een kwast en water. Daarna tussen de achtergronden deze gespoten en bestempelde met kleuren erop die ik ook had gebruikt, gevonden, dus gaan de bloemen daarop en dan in een van mijn Art Journals.

In my basket that I brought this stamping Thursday afternoon.was also this moon and flower stamp that hadn't seen ink before. As last project of that stamping Thursday afternoon I colored this one with DO, a brush and water. After that I found this background with spritzed ink in some of the colors I also used and a swirl stamped on it , so the flowers will go in that one and all will ho in one of my Art Journals.

Twee labels / Two tags

Tussen mijn nieuwe stempelsets vond ik wat kleinere stempels. Die passen prima op deze kleine stukken papier die ik overhield bij het op maat snijden van aquarel papier. Op de ene heb ik een stencil xchoongemaakt (een 2e print van het stencil dat ik hier gebruikte) en daarna nog inkt opgedept van een ander stencil. de andere hield ik wat meer CaS. Beiden gebruik ik als labels voor op een kadootje, vandaar dat uk er ook nog geen gaatjes ingemaakt heb; dat doe ik als ik weet hoe ik ze wil gebruiken...

Between my new stamping sets I found some smaller stamps. Those fit perfectly on the little pieces pf aquarelpaper that were leftover when I cut some of it to rge seize I needed. On the first of them I cleaned a stencil (a 2nd print gtom the stencil I used here) and after that I mopped up some ink from other stencils. I use both of them as labels/tags for on a present, That is why I didnlt put holes in them; that I''ll do when I now how I will use them...

Zomerse verjaardagskaart met een print / Summer Birthdaycard with a print.

Begin Juli is mijn zus jarig, en natuurlijk maakte ik een kaart voor haar. Zij woont in Spanje. Het ene jaar verstuur ik deze gewoon en andere jaren krijgt ze 'm eerder als ze in Nederland is of later als iemand naar haar toe gaat. Dit jaar krijgt ze 'm wat later. 

De achtergrond is een stuk aquarelpapier waar ik weer een stencil op schoonmaakte van dit project. Het zag er zo zonnig uit en, omdat zij in Spanje woont en in de zomer jarig is, leek het me leuk er een heel zomerse kaart van te maken.

At the start of July it is my sister's Birthday and of course I made a card for her. She lives in Spain. One year I sent the card with the mail and other years she gets it earlier when she is in the Netherlands or later when someone is going to her. This year she gets it a bit later.

The background is again a piece of aquarelpaper on wich I cleaned a stencil from this project. It looks so sunny, and, because she lives in Spain and her Birthday is in Summer, I thought it would be nice to make a very summerly card.

Een stencil 3x gebruiken op 2 manieren/ To use a stencil 3 times in two ways

De tweede print die ik trok bij het schoonmaken van het stencil dat ik gebruikte voor dit project was er een met voornamelijk vegen en geen duidelijk herkenbare afbeelding. Dus besloot ik de andere van deset van twee gestreepte vrouwen stencils die ik pasgeleden kocht er overheen te gebruiken. Dat is het 1e project dat je hierbeneden ziet.

Maar, toen had ik dus weer een stencil dat ik schoon moest maken en dat heb ik dus weer gedaan door er water op te spuiten en er aquarelpapier op te leggen en erover te wrijven . Dat deed ik twee keer omdat er zoveel inkt op het stencil was achtergebleven. De eerste print vond ik zo mooi, dat ik er alleen maar een tekst bij zocht.(Zie foto 2)  

De tweede print was veel vager, en dus heb ik geprobeerd de afbeelding meer eruit laten komen door er met gele DO inkt omheen te sponzen. (Zie foto 3)

The second print I took by cleaning the stencil that I used for this project was one with mostly smuches and no real visuable image. So I descided to use the other of the set of two striped woman stencils that I bought recently on top of it. That is the first project that you can see below.

But, by doing that, I again had a stencil that I had to clean and so I did that again by spritzing some water over it, laying some aquarelpaper on top of it and rubit. I did that twice, because there was so much ink left behind on the stencil.  I thought the first print was a beautiful one, so I only put a sentiment on it. (see photo 2)

The second print was more vage, so I tried to get the image pop more by sponzing yellow DO ink arround it. (See photo 3)

Zonneschijn 1e print / Sunshine first print

Ik moet zeggen dat het een beetje verslavend werkt om steeds je stencils eerst schoon te maken door er een print van te trekken, maar het blijft een leuke techniek. Die lukt het best met meer en wat fellere en/of donkere kleuren. De 1e print die ik van het stencil trok dat ik voor dit project had gebruikt, was dan ook niet zo duidelijk; het werden meer groene vlekken... Dus heb ik het stencil goed schoongemaakt en omgedraaid erop gelegd en zo nog een keer door het stencil gespomst.met gele DO. Nog een tekst erbij en dat was het...

I must say that it is getting addictive to clean the stencils every time on aquarelpaper by taking a print of it, but it still is a fun technique, The first print I took from the stencil I used in this project left me with a not so clear image; it became a splashes background... So I cleaned the stencil and turned it around on the paper and sponged it again with yellow DO. A sentiment to go with it and that was it...
